CNN was so excited over this story that they kept making typos on their front page announcing it.

Folks more then just symbolic. It is an actual significant victory if true. Especially against the terror groups in the mid-east.

/waggles hand Ehhh... there is some significance because of the symbolism involved. Americans can have some vengeance, and one of terrorism's superstars is dead. But Osama biting it is like Dave Thomas dying - folks at your local Wendy's will still be there flipping burgers.

Someone in the other OTC thread brought up this. That doesn't sound good...

I'd assume that if they had a nuke they would have used it when they were really catching it a decade or so ago. Also, if this confession came during waterboarding, I am doubly dubious of its veracity.

It wouldn't surprise me if the fucker had been dead for a decade and it was hushed-up for all kindza strategic reasons.

Similarly, if that was the case I'm sure a certain President would have been eager to release such information during a particularly bad election season.

Bonus points if somebody accuses Obama of having visited it.

I'm waiting for the "oh, I thought you said Obama, now I'm disappointed" "jokes."

Dude, we've got "Fuck Yeah America" being played all over the dorm. The irony can't begin to describe it.

Apparently they're going to announce the people involved in his death soon. Chance of them all getting Medals of Honor: 95%

America: Fuck yeah.

Ecco, if we breathe air why do we live beneath the waves?

Are people usually that, erm, patriotic in the US?

Just one Stanza.

Stanza? Oh. Still they were singing the song.

And yes, Americans are crazy patriotic. I'm just having fun just singing a catchy song.

People are gonna LOSE THEIR MINDS tomorrow.

Americans tend to be sore winners, so yes, we're going to be going on about this for several weeks, even months maybe.

EDIT: I know what the next Call Of Duty game will be about.

Tacitis:It is significant especially for morale and proving we can sooner or later "get you" no matter where you hide. Plus he is still a major figure in the terrorist groups out there. This will likely cause several hot heads to come out in the open making them nice big targets.

Does it really matter? America was losing the War on Terror before bin Laden died, and America is still losing the War on Terror. No single person or single event is going to change this. For all we know, the man probably died of blue balls or something.

I have to say, if I had to think of someone who deserved to die, this would have been the man.

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

[up] Word my brother.

This is going to be a major thing.

the US sent out a message to warn the rest of the world.

Granted, it does make sense. You cut the head of the beast, the rest of the body is going to trash before it dies. All we have to do is prevent any backlash, and go for it's "franchises" and do the same.
