Unsure whether to put this here or new media, but it's theatre, so here it goes.

We have only a few hours until Starship preimieres on Youtube. I have no doubts it will be Totally Awesome.

I don't get to see it today due to prom. And I'm actually sad about it.

I bought the Starship soundtrack. I'm so happy. I think Joey is better vocally in Starship than in Me And My Dick, because Starship's score doesn't push his high range as much. So yay for that.

I just finished watching Starship. My only major complaint (which really isn't even all that major): compared to the song at the end of Act 1, The Triumphant Reprise of "I Wanna Be", the final song was a bit of a let-down.

Tootsie Megagirl was my favorite character. What about you? Also, what would your farm world name be? Mine's Graham Musical.

Junior is probably the most badass villian ever. Though I love Taz and Tootsie too. They need to let Dylan Saunders have more solos. His voice is incredible.

My only complaint is that February can't sing. Luckily, it's only a small portion of one song, but still. I was cringing the whole time.

I started to watch now, I read somewhere that you could hear Darren when Joe Walkers apppears, but couldn't tell if it was his voice or not.

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.

You can hear Darren laugh toward the begining of Act 2 Part 1. There's the entire audience laughing followed by this little "hahaha" that definatly sounds like him.

[up][up][up] Oh, my god. Yes. February cannot sing. I feel like they should have hade Alle Faye Monka (Tiffany) come back and play February. Because while Denise Donovan was funny, she cannot sing AT ALL.

I found February sort of annoying. Taz was awesome, and "I Wanna Be" has taken up residence in my head and refuses to leave.

[up] I feel like with February and Bugette, they were trying to make it si that Joey Richter's character doesn't fall for the nerdy girl again, but it just felt kind of forced because February and bug has No Accounting for Taste.

It's not that, I don't think. He's just become much, much stronger vocally. You don't hear him solo that much in the Potter musicals, but in Me And My Dick he can barely sing. I'd be shocked if he hasn't been taking lessons. And his voice is now dreamy. Also, dang, I already knew Dylan Saunders could sing but WOW. Same for Brian Holden and Lauren Lopez. As for February (now I have to learn the names of all these new actors... gah!), she couldn't sing, but she was funny sometimes and she was only in one song so it was okay.

As for the show as a whole, it was fantastic. Though at the beginning I don't think it was as entertaining as their past shows (despite having way better production values), by the second half of the first act or so I was completely into it.

It's been between that song and the reprise of "Kick It Up a Notch" for me. It's kind of awkward to want to bust out singing the latter.

Starship was awesome. It was obvious they weren't exactly HUGE science fiction nerds, but I still really appreciated that they did know enough to poke a little fun at the standard tropes. And although bug-type aliens living in a communal hive society is hardly a new idea, I like how they played it. They were clearly having a lot of fun making it as gross as possible and yet at the same time making it familiar and even inviting in some ways.

Oh and it had catchy songs and was funny and sweet too, but it's Team Starkid so I was expecting that.

Also I can't even tell you how much I love Lauren Lopez. Why is she so awesome? The rest of the cast is fantastic too, but srsly guise.

Oh yeah, and god damn can Dylan sing. I definitely was not expecting it, given I'd only seen him as Dumbledore before. His performance of "Kick it Up a Notch" blew me away. He really sold that Villain Song for every cent it was worth.

Also, Kick It Up A Notch equals Poor Unfortuante Souls with a touch bit of I Can Make You A Man thrown in at the beginning.

My favorite part of the whole thing might just be Megagirl's part of The Way I Do.

Unpopular opinion: February was totally The Woobie.

[up] I think my favorite is between Kick It Up A Notch (and it's epic reprise since Brolden does such an epic job) and Beauty. I adore the entire soundtrack, honestly. By far the best of their shows.

Yeah, I know she was extremely The Ditz, but the bad stuff that happened to her (and the awful life that some stuff implies that she led before) honestly makes up for it and makes her not just a good character, but an adorable character for me. ...maybe her hatebase is just a product of Team Starkid's largely female banbase.
