Ah good.

I do have a question. Is there anybody currently at the hub area?

If you mean Pax Island, then yes, I'd say most of the characters in the thread are there at the moment (if scattered around a bit). Generally speaking, if someone's location tag doesn't explicitly mention another island, they're somewhere on Pax Island.

I'd give you a bit of a summary of who is where and what they're up to, but I've got to go take a shower. Hopefully someone else can give you a hand.

I'd like that. I'll be here for a while, so don't worry too hard.

I'll just head over and see who bites.

All right, shower's done.

Here's a brief summary of the current goings-on at the Harbor, if that's where your character is starting.

Lieutenant Commander Forsythe landed her malfunctioning Taurus ("Giant Robot") in the shallows of the harbor's beach. (Post) She later left the beach to go find a phone. While she was gone, her robot began to attract attention.

Claire, an intelligent cyborg cat, shortly after departing her ship (of the seafaring kind), takes an interest in the robot. By the time Forsythe returns, Claire is joined by her partner, Duckie, a human man in his twenties, in investigating the robot.

Another investigator also shows up: a glowing, jelly-fish looking thing. (Post) After scanning the robot a bit, it changes shape into something more spider-like (Post, then crawls up and into the robot (Post).

Also during this time, a yacht docks in the harbor.(Post) From the yacht dismount three people, Hisami, Takuya, and Yuuta (more detailed information on each can be found in the "yacht docking" post). Takuya and Yuuta both head out to investigate the robot as well, while Hisami headed into town.

Not directly affiliated with these events, though observing them, there is Iris, a young human woman in her early twenties, down on the beach looking for her disappeared brother, and Thomas, an older human man who is helping her with the search. They're both heading towards the yacht, investigating a lead that her brother was/is on a boat.

If I've made a mistake, you know who you are. It's up to you to correct me. tongue

[up][up]The song turned into a humanoid thing that's now addressing Claire, Duckie, and Takuya (I think), but beyond that the summary's accurate.

On a different note, Howell's behavior right now is really making me want to punch him in the face.

Ninja'd.

[up][up]

Just a warning, due to Masterofchaos's most recent post, they're probably gonna be leaving the harbor in the next post or so, and there wouldn't be a lot to distract Iris from heading after her brother's purported whereabouts.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Jackson in my summary. He's also helping Iris with the search, and was changed into a duck earlier in the thread, much to his irritation. He recently had contact with Howell (Iris's younger brother), but was sort-of convinced to let him go for the time being.

[up]

Hmm, looks like that was posted while I was still writing the summary. Thanks!

And interesting. Something to keep in mind I suppose.

[up]Oh. Well I started going towards town, so you might want to write that Max's head at least caught her attention or something.

Oh. Well, okay then.

Within the town, there are Adam, Nathan, and George, a fourteen year old boy, his older brother, and their father, respectively, who were talking (and now parting ways) with Selena, a woman with a zombie outbreak-like infection in it's light stages. They're somewhere between the harbor and the Royal hotel.

There's also Hayate and Hisami (from the yacht group), two yokai that look like a red fox and a human woman, respectively. They're chatting it up, though the presence and subsequent retreat of a mysterious onlooker may have caught their attention. They're somewhere near the Big Kahuna restaurant.

The mysterious onlooker was Howell, Iris's missing brother, who is trying to reach the Big Kahuna without being caught by anyone who might be helping his sister help find him in the hopes of feigning more innocence than he's got. He's currently resting in an alleyway somewhere between the harbor and the Big Kahuna restaurant.

There are also more people inside a couple of the various buildings, but... get to that when we get to that, and whatnot... I've got to get posting.

Hey maxwellelvis, and welcome to the CDTs. grin

Most of the characters on the Beach are pretty busy with the alien (the Song) or their own conversations, but at least Hisami and Hayate in the town center, and Kina and Kaguya on the Big Kahuna porch (visible from outside) are available if you're interested. I think some of the others in the town center (Adam, Nathan, and George; or Selena) are probably available as well.

Well, two of my characters are Hisami and Kina, so just approach either one, and they'll be certain to reply. smile

You can see all the character's descriptions and details on the trope page: Archipelago CDT.

P.S. It helps if you pick a specific character to talk to, otherwise it's possible everyone will think you're talking to someone else. tongue

Another thing: you do not have to post constantly just because no one replied to you. The CDTs move fairly slowly and people take time to respond.

On the new thread: No, there is no set date as of yet. It's still going to be a while, however (at least two weeks).

Well... they didn't always move so slowly... I remember back in the heyday of the Resort sometimes I'd get off twenty or thirty posts a day. smile

Of course, real life, schedules, and characters don't always cooperate. sad

Also, rapid-fire posting is best in two-person groups, because otherwise people can get left behind. (I'll try not to post too much so Hayate can get a word in edgewise. :P) It's best to at least wait for the author of the character you've addressed before posting (unless something happens directly), and not to post back and forth more than a few times if in a group of more than two authors.

@Yomegami: I do have some extra time now (work has eased up and I'm feeling a bit better), to help with the new thread, if you'd like? smile

[up]Since part of the reason the new thread's taking a while is that I'm a little stuck on it, I'd appreciate the help.

That goes to anyone else who'd like to lend a hand, as well.

On new thread: Here's the last update I posted about it.

What I'm planning on doing is adding at least two additional amenities (the current list of six, not counting the surrounding forest and mountain path, looks a little too short for a CDT), get a basic map of the inn and the garden, and write detailed descriptions for it all.

The problems I'm currently having are that I can't think of what else to add that wouldn't violate the naturalistic theme the place has going for it, and that I suck at making maps and writing descriptions that aren't incredibly long-winded.

@Yomegami: I can certainly help make the map (or do it entirely if you want me to, or make one based on text guidelines). I can also help with descriptions, but as for additional amenities, it might be a bit tough if we want to stay with a strictly naturalistic setting. The only additional things that come to mind are: a meditation room, skiing on the other mountainside, or an underground go-kart raceway. Otherwise, it's probably fine as-is, as I've been to plenty of naturalistic resorts/hotels where there isn't much to do besides the nature. smile
