Character Development Thread--Discussion

Crystal's latest post is confusing me slightly. I'm thinking Ryu was the guy who just entered, but KC's post suggests it was Matthias, and the wording makes me think it might have been both of them. Which was it?

I think it was both — Samira didn't notice Ryu because he wasn't familiar to her.

Also, if anyone would like someone to talk to, or would like to free up some space in the Parlor, Sora's in the Art Gallery.

Have anything interesting/significant happened in the library? Tora and Oracle is still there and they might do something soon...

...well actually, I meant for Ozzy to resume sleeping. I just wanted to post just to assert that I was still involved, and that Ozzy is still alive. I've been spending the weekend with a friend who is visiting due to Presidents Day (which means a day off for both of us), so I'm not in a good position to actively post.

I can't excuse my absence from the CD Ts do to life stuff since I nigh literally don't have anything else to do.

I pretty much am engrossed with writing and reading SCP Foundation stuff. I guess when I have something published I'll link it here...maybe???

Anyway, I'm pretty damn tired and I have to go now, so yeah. I'll try to get into new conversations, maybe pitch in a Never-Before-Seen character in. ;)

Sorry for such a short post after not having posted in a day, but I should be able to get back on track as things go along.

Has Character Factory been done/suggested yet?

Seriously though, I think it could work.

Factory sounds really restrictive though.

I think we should focus more on what to do/what NOT to do on the next non-casual thread first before we get the names down.

Okay, here's some suggestions I have so far:

• The most agreed on: We should avoid the whole "where are we/how did we get here/how do we escape" plot, since that wasn't getting a good reception.

• If anyone wants to have a major plot/sub-plot, it should be discussed in here, just so we can see if we can agree to it.

• If you plan on being gone for a specific amount of time, please tell us ahead of time so nobody will be stuck.

• If someone else's character is making you uncomfortable, please tell them.

That's what I have so far. You can add on if you have more.

I agree with those. Here's what I have:

• Fighting should have a good reason.

• Venturing outside the thread's location is only allowed if everyone involved agrees with it.

• Try to have the thread end with a resolution.

• Generally, a character being dead is to be stated first by that character's poster.

• Remember, you write the characters, the characters don't write themselves.

Well, I'm just saying that people are in more control of their characters then they usually think.
