Welcome, Morgi Corgi!

I'm calling you that, now. If it's alright.

I came up with names and descriptions for Alex's two new Pokémon - namely, a Mon he'll catch early on in Kalos (Air) and the Egg Joseph gave him (Ether).

Name: Skugga (Swedish: "shadow")

Species: Gastly

Gender: Femalenote

Ability: Levitate

Personality: Somewhere between a prankster and a philosopher. Skugga enjoys toying with those around her for fun and profit, but she never sets out to harm... usually. If you can get her to come out of the shadows and actually talk to you, she comes off as thoughtful and analytical, but also quirky and fun-loving.

Name: Tungvikt (Swedish: "heavyweight", in the sense of a heavyweight boxer or wrestler)

Species: Hawlucha

Gender: Male

Ability: Limber

Description: Does "ENTIRE TEAM IS BABIES" mean anything to you? If so, congrats, you know exactly what Tungvikt is like. 100% free-range, ALL-CAPS Large Ham.

Tastes better on the way back down.

Dune: Yup! Especially when they're pretty much Heavy Weapons Guy in bird form. There, I said it.

Okay, so Kalos arc is starting sometime within the next week. Problem is we don't seem to be sure on when or what the plot should be, if we're having a main, if vague, plot?

Main choices seem to be...

A) A day or two Before New Years

B) On New Years

C) A day or two After New Years

Any preference between the three? I'd personally prefer A or B.

And any ideas for the main plot, if we're making one for this arc?

I have some ideas, one involves Mega Evolutions, the other involves the legendary Birds. Not going to post them until I have them fully...uh, thought together I guess?

I like B the most, personally. Starting the new year in a new region seems... I dunno what exactly, but it's an idea that appeals to me.

I prefer B or C, mostly as a personal preference. Couldn't explain why, though.

I'd very much like B. A and to a lesser extent C are still workable, but A works best for me since it's my last day of break.

As for plot, something about searching rumors of Neo-Galactic + Illuison or Mega Evolution could work.

I vote either A or B for mostly the same reasons as Eskay.

As for the plot we could just have people want to take a break from Orre and do Kalos stuff, like the Gym Challenge or maybe research Mega Evolution, or people trying to get Mega Evos.

Also there was a discussion about Pokémon gangs in Kalos being in conflict, which could be a thing. It definitely wouldn't be a driving force, but it could occasionally impact things people are doing without forcing them to get involved.

Edit: I am very much opposed to any villainous team doing anything that draws the attention of the whole team, I'm fine with them appearing, planning, but I'm against the idea of conflicts or setting plans in motion until at least late in the arc so we maybe can set up later arcs where they're the focus.

The only plans I have for Kalos is Martin getting ready for his concert in Lumiose, if anyone would like to participate in that.

The lights come on, and the room is decorated with PICKLES.

Kalos should be more lighthearted than Orre, but I still want a plot. NG and Illusion fighting for dominance works in that regard.

Okay, so since everyone seems to be fine with it happening on New Year's Day let's shoot for that, then.

As for plots, I'm fine with most anything and we seem to have some ideas on the way, though I'd prefer to keep Neo-Galactic and the Illusion Project to subplot levels if possible.

Okay, I had a new idea that I mentioned in the chat. Also, fleshed out the Mega evolutions idea Here goes:

Fairy type idea

There is an organization that, upon seeing the new Fairy Pokemon and the newly recognized Fairy types, notices the happiness and cuteness that many of them possess. This organization starts out as trying to use Fairy Pokemon to bring happiness to those whose lives have taken a turn for the worse.

Then the board of executives gets a bit insane. They notice that, while their efforts seem to be making people happy, they cannot do anything permanent. This is where they resolve to make the world a place where no negative emotions can exist.

To do this, they create a superweapon, powered by the attacks of the Fairy type, such as Dazzling Gleam, Moonlight, and Moonblast, that plunges the world into eternal night, the energy from the eternal night, coupled with the Fairy types' power, will project an aura of happiness across the world. It may be forever dark, but to them they have succeeded in their mission.

The latter part would not become apparent until later in the arc. For a good part of the arc, they would simply be just another activist group/business.

Mega Evolutions idea

The Anistar Sundial is connected to the Mega stones in that all of the postgame stones can only be found at 8 PM, when the sundial reveals them or something(I think). Well, this is because it is actually a giant megastone. It was created when the initial awakening of Xerneas scatter the mega stones, one giant chunk of rock became more crystalline, turning into the sundial at Anistar, but retaining the Mega Stone properties.

Some very wealthy person(think Lawrence from Pokemon 2000) has uncovered this knowledge, and is working on a way to utilize the Anistar Sundial. The J-team likely ends up assisting he/she in their efforts, especially PEFE, for scientific purposes. Through careful research, he/she has theorized that if used with a Mega Ring or something like it, it can allow a Pokemon to retain their Mega Evolved form for as long as it is day, the mon reverting to normal at night.

As the arc goes on, he/she is constructing a key stone to use the Anistar Sundial and activate its effects.(again, the J-team assisting) Once bonded to the sundial, it causes the expected result, but as a result, Xerneas slowly becomes weaker, the extended Mega Pokemon durations drawing straight from the source that created them. It is eventually theorized that, unless the sundial and the keystone built to harness its power are separated, Xerneas will die. (this would occur in the last quarter of the arc)

The only issue is that the link can only be severed using the combined powers of every single Mega Evolution known at the time(This would mean the currently known ones, since there will almost certainly be more in the future. Mega Lati@s may or may not be included.) So the J-team would need to find each mega stone, and the corresponding Pokemon in time before Xerneas dies.

Straw

I like the idea about the former, since it seems to fit as a much "sweeter" plot with villains one could actually reason with after a bit.

The later I'm a little less crazy about, mostly because our poor Legendaries seem to get into danger whenever we're in the area.

I... actually really like the first idea, but I have a feeling it won't go over well as a main plot idea for the same reasons Illusion and Neo-Galactic won't. But if it does, I'm all for it.

As for the Anistar idea, I am heavily against it. It's very, very possible that the third/sequel game to Pokemon X/Y will elaborate on what the Sundial actually is, and I really don't want us to have to deal with the massive retcons associated with the contradiction.

I share my opinions on the first idea with Eskay.

As for the second one, it could be cool but a bit of a chore to pull off. Also the retcons and whatnot.

I second what seems to be the general opinion.

I like the Fairy-type idea, but not the Anistar Sundial one.

Straw: I'm not a particularly big fan of either idea, honestly. They seem a bit too... "big" is perhaps the wrong word, but they seem like the kind of plans which take over the spotlight in the last part of the arc (making it difficult to focus on anything else) and yet don't really give us anything to do for the first two-thirds of the arc. And by this point there's already several villainous organisations whose general goal is "eliminating negative emotion", so it doesn't feel terribly original, even thought that's kind of a hypocritical complaint coming from me.

Fairy type could work, agree with Eskay on the sundial.

Though yeah Herbert's concern is my big worry.

Well, the Mega Evolutions idea was somewhat more far-fetched than the other, so i can just scrap that one.

The Fairy type idea, while I don't think I can change the core element of it, I think it can be adjusted to be more prominent.

The Fairy team can be easily adjusted, yeah.

See, my problem with the Fairy team isn't just with the lack of prominence earlier, it's the fact that their plan has pretty far-reaching consequences. Perhaps it's just me, but I'd rather Kalos have a more Unova-2-esqe plot, where the main threat pops up throughout but is never the team's sole concern until a short period at the very end and there's plenty of time for fun shenanigans inbetween. And stopping the world from being plunged into eternal darkness seems like it'd take priority over said shenanigans.

This is probably entirely a matter of personal preference, but I'd rather have a more innocuous threat to deal with.

I can have it be pop up like in Unova 2, but I don't know how I could adjust the other bit.
