Aside from coordinating Arika's thing this week I'm taking a (hopefully short) break from the chat.

This is due to the fact that the chat takes up a lot of my focus and there's something else I wanna focus on for a bit. I can clarify by PM or IM if anyone wants.

I'll still be R Ping intermittently and be plenty PM / I Mable for anyone. So yeah.

With or first contest of the arc coming up, should we include Spectacular Talents in the RP? And if so, how?

OK, so it's about time I made a few announcements.

I've made my plans to retire from WAAPT later this year public for several months now. Naturally, I've been focused on getting my remaining plans wrapped up since then, but I assume (or at least hope) at least some of you have been wondering what the heck I'm going to do after WAAPT.

Well, there are a few things planned for the near future, and I'll elaborate on them a bit now.

First order of business is taking my Serebii ORAS contest entry about the ancient Sootopolans, Crater Dreams, and sprucing it up to both accommodate the judges' feedback and make it more ORAS-friendly. However, I'd prefer to do that before I finish my time in WAAPT, probably through a chat break similar to what I'm doing now (though said current break is actually RP-related).

Next is a oneshot I've been putting off for too damn long: Truth. For those of you who don't know, it's a sequel to a terrible, silly oneshot I wrote about N and Reshiram back when I first joined WAAPT. It's a story I really want to tell, and by Jove I will tell it... As soon as it gets a more cohesive plot.

Finally... there's the big one, my first attempt at a chaptered fanfic in... holy shit, four years. What's it about? Well, I'll say it's basically a WAAPT prequel/spinoff, and that's all I'll say for now. The exact subject isn't some huge plot twist or anything, just something I'd rather keep under wraps for the time being for various reasons. Some of you already know why. For everyone else, I've been dropping hints throughout the RP and its meta since... Last May, I think? Yeah. I can give another hint via PM or IM if anyone's curious.

But yeah, that's what's next in line for me after the big ol' retirement. Hope you guys are looking forward to these stories.

i sort of considered coming back momentarily for a Stardust Crusaders arc but then i realized that all i want to do is make everyone angry with Vanilla Ice

Umbra: I've never gotten around to reading the one fic by a WAAPTer I really know of (Reflecting Balance), since I tend to be a physical-books person and have other things to do. Nevertheless, I am intrigued by the vague intriguingness!

Two things:

First, happy fourth birthday, WAAPT! I know my time with you is coming to a close, but this has been some of the most fun I've ever had and I totally plan on ending my time here properly and with style!

Second: You guys are probably wondering what the chat break is for. Well...

I'm actually watching a Fire Emblem: Awakening Let's Play. I wanted to refresh my memory of the game so I could write Robin better and do better cameos of all his friends, but I didn't want to overwrite my old, unfinished Duolis!Robin playthrough and figured I could get through a Let's Play faster than the actual game. I'm more than halfway through and intend to be done by the end of next week.

So far... There are a couple kinks to work out with how I've been doing things, but I'm also getting ideas. Fun ones. And one is a very silly big ol' Call-Back.

(And my mental image of Human!Chrome is now much more Inigo-ish. Because seriously holy shit fucking look at him◊)

Since it's closer to the date now and people probably have a better idea of availability, would we be fine starting the Slateport Contest this Friday afternoon/evening or other times work better?

Friday would be alright, but keep in mind that I will be AFK for a couple of hours for a movie.
