This thread is to request that a locked article be unlocked. Please read the guidelines below before making a request.
- Please see Locked Pages and Permanent Redlink Club first. If an article is on the Permanent Redlink Club, it will not be unlocked, ever.
- Pages cut a while ago were automatically locked. Before asking for an unlock, make sure that the article you want to create is in the proper Namespace, has gone through YKTTW if it's a trope, and otherwise fulfills our guidelines for Creating New Pages.
- If you just want to make an edit to an article, post here instead.
- Don't ask for new Main redirects. Those are only for old articles with lots of existing inbounds.
Original post
I'll start it off: could someone please unlock Hootie And The Blowfish so I can make a new page on it? The last page was cut for being copypasta from Wikipedia.

@Toonyloon: Experience belies the idea that just because some time has passed, an argument like that will have died. I suppose we can just ban anyone who adds them. Unlocked.
@Acidna: The article was cut on request because it was supposedly going to be recreated with a different title. See here.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Done Well used to be a redirect to Tropes Are Tools (IIRC) that seems to have been cut; any reason for that? It's a handy Predefined Message.
Rhymes with "Protracted."It was a redirect to The Same, but More, actually.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think you're confusing it with But Done Well.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"@Fighteer There was no discussion or mention of having the page renamed or anything of the sort, this I'm certain. Is it possible to have it restored, or at least unlocked?

I suggest you PM the troper who requested the cut (TEETEE) to see what they had in mind. If they don't respond in a reasonable time frame, I'll restore the article.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The TEETEE handle is one we made for all the roleplayers to use to they could edit the pages. We asked everybody about it, but it appears that none of the current roleplayers were the ones who made the change. Would it be possible to jump to restoring the article?
Oh, I didn't know that. Well, I have no way to determine which of you made the cutlist request, so yeah, I'll restore the page.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"That's my bad, I should have specified earlier. Sorry for the trouble. Thanks a bunch!
Permission to unlock /The Legend of Korra? Since the season is done and the hate for Mako (the reason why it was locked in the first place) has dissipated,I don't think it will be quite so full of flame-wars as it once was. Besides, it'd be nice to be able to do a proper edit on it to properly include all the new stuff that's happened in the series finale.
There are still flame wars going on over Final Fantasy VII, and that's almost two decades old. Fan wars never die; they just wait for someone to stir them up. If we do unlock the page, any misbehavior needs to be reported immediately via Ask The Tropers or a holler, and we will ban offenders without mercy.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"For what it's worth, I have that page already watchlisted.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe can give it a try. I'll unlock it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Would like the page "Book of Jonah" to be de-locked. I created it not too long ago but my computer crashed in the middle of indexing it and had to get reformated. Someone appears to have locked it and deleted the history in the meantime.
We don't like stubs. Please do complete work when you create an article. I realize that you had a technical failure, but we'd prefer that you draft articles offline and then paste them in a more-or-less ready to go form than that you make stubs and flesh them out "later".
I unlocked it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Okay then, thanks. I'll avoid that in the future.
You can also create an unfinished article in a sandbox page, like Sandbox.Book Of Jonah.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow do Sandbox pages work, exactly?
—R.J.
Well, if you want to create a page and it isn't finished for launching yet, you can create it in the Sandbox/ namespace, then when it's ready, you copy its source into the final place for the page and cutlist the sandbox.
There is also a moderator tool for moving a sandbox page to the correct place, but I am not familiar with usage procedure there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCutlisting a sandbox page to delet it seems inefficient. Should just let the original page creator delete it with a click if that's the case.
—R.J.
That would require a bit of coding. No sense in it, when appropriate tools (namely the Cut List) exist.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenMay I humbly suggest unlocking VideoGame.Dm C Devil May Cry? It seems to have been locked only a few days after the game was released; now that the game has been out for ten months, I would suspect that the controversy over it has largely ebbed.
It was locked due to some rather nasty flame wars, as I recall. We can give unlocking it a shot.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hi. I made pages for some fanfilms in here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanWorks/HarryPotter. They got deleted and cut because they had no examples (and that was because I spent THREE HOURS on those pages and it was like 3 am, I was going to fill them up later). When I asked how to add examples if the pages were cut, i got this:
"Well, I guess you can ask a moderator in that thread to give the pre-cut source, then add examples to tha once it's in the sandbox."
I don't understand, How do I get all I wrote back?
I think Telikos Thanatos was cut. Is it possible to have that fixed?
