Clarification worthwhile...: Sophisticated As Hell

This YKTTW of mine was said to be covered by Sophisticated as Hell, which from my current understanding was mostly about the transition from proper wording to slang, which really wouldn't cover this. I think some clarification, of what exactly Sophisticated as Hell is about, and whether or not my YKTTW qualifies as a separate-if-related trope, might be worthwhile.

Sophisticated as Hell is more about juxtaposition than transition. Looking at the page and at your YKTTW, it does seem like a duplicate.

Still though, mine is about a distinction between what the words are about and the style with which they're spoken. That's still different from juxtaposition.

Juxtaposing two things automatically provokes a comparison between them, leading to the things which you are talking about.

... doesn't juxtaposing mean putting side-by-side for comparison? My YKTTW isn't about putting the poetic thing and non-poetic thing side-by-side, it's about having the style of the former despite that its underlying meaning would otherwise be at least perceived as the latter.

As an aside, do we really need the Yahtzee page quote? There are a bunch of others that would work just as well, and don't use homophobic language.

Also, is the distinction between "official" and "poetic" really just semantics? If anything, it seems they could in some ways be contrasted with each other; something official would be more formal, more dull, less stylish and more emphasis on substance, whereas poetry would have more emphasis on style.

I think this could use a soft split and/or subtropes.

Right now there is only one page quote. For obvious reasons, there is an abundance of good ones to pick from if we'd like to add a second one. I'd like to put up the following one:

'One could argue that fuckedness is a vague concept, indefinable, and thus a meaningless point of departure for any sort of cogent analysis.'.

Partly because it's a great example, partly because it comes from an incredibly underrated book. Still, It feels like bad judgement to just put it up spontaneously. (That, and my attempt to put up an IMO perfect quote from the same book on the Department of Redundancy Department page didn't go very well.) Does the majority think we should stick with just one quote, put up some other quote, or put up my suggestion.

Make a Quotes.Sophisticated As Hell page. Adding more than one quote at the top of a main page is severely frowned on.

Oh, look, it's already there.

There is one, and the quote is there already. I thought one or two quotes were the preferred number on a page, three being the absolute maximum. Well, nevermind then.

One quote is preferred. Two are allowed under special circumstances. Three? No.

Well then, is the Cracked quote the best possible one? Besides the quote that Fan Myopia makes me favor, there are at least three on the quotes page that I think would work better than the current one. #2, by this very wiki, #7, from Billy Connolly and #13, from an Omegle conversation.

Personally, I think that this one,

"Well, Mr McBumfurtey, I've given you every possible examination, I've thumbed through every one of these copious volumes, and given you an electrocardiograph test. I've come to the conclusion that, in the words of the great Hippocrates himself, your heart's fucked."

Billy Connolly, Was It Something I Said?

is better than either of the ones that's already on the main page.
