I was in a hurry to save and turn off Dragon Quest IX, plus I was reading something on this site. So, in my distraction, I turned it off and immediately thought to myself "... I just used an inn, not a church, didn't I?" Indeed, I had. Oh, and the last few times I had saved, I had quick saved it. sad

Anyone else ever made that mistake in a rush?

Couldn't you just load the quick saves?

Signed: I think the quick saves are wiped when you turn off the game... sad

Quick saves in IX are wiped when you load the quick save. They exist so you can quickly save and turn the DS off when needed.

[up][up][up] I remember I missed one of Lyude's finishers in the Trail of Souls. Didn't impact me that much, but I still wasn't too happy about it.

One I still remember, ten years after the fact ...

Playing Thief: Gold, exploring through the Lost City mission. Get to the top of one particular tower, lean out the window, hear Garrett say, "It's a long way down." Respond, "Yep, it sure is holy shiiiiiit" as I tap the forward key one too many times and fall out the window. Reach for the Quick Load button (F12, IIRC) and instead hit the Quick Save button (F11). I was ~80% done with the level and had to start over.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. In the 3rd dungeon, if you're not careful, you can become stuck because there are more doors than there are keys up to this point. This dungeon has screwed me over twice, forcing me to restart. Luckily, I can pretty much play this game with my eyes closed.

On the note of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Blizzard Temple. One of the doors that opens from the bell ringing puzzle locks again if you die in the area after it. The puzzle still counts as solved, though, so you can't open it again. Not realising this, I saved. Had to start the game from scratch.

'twas brillig.
