Not sure if this should be in a separate thread, but CBC has something similar in the form of the vote compass.

EDIT: It's actually pretty localized to Canadian politics, (fairly recent Canadian politics, for that matter) but it uses the same social/economic distinction used by the nolan chart.

As for the thread's quiz, I was a 10 on the social progressive/conservative scale, 9 on the capitalist/socialist scale, 2 on the libertarian/authoritarian scale, and 5 on the pacifist/militarist scale.

On a first note, I'm not an American, so I'm kinda biased...

Conservative/Progressive score: 8 You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government

I'm a Catholic, but I don't really value religion unless I'm talking about someone else. But if it's just me, then I don't care if the Bible is against it or not. As long as it sounds agreeable and fair, then I'll go for it.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 9 You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. You think that Health Care should be free to all, that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the government should provide jobs to all that are capable of having them. You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years. The far extreme of social capitalism is socialism.

This... I won't comment anymore. I don't even know how I got that.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 5 You're a Moderate. You think that we all have certain inalienable rights that must be protected, but that sometimes laws need to be made to protect the majority's lives or quality of lives. You might think that the 2nd amendment isn't necessary anymore because letting everyone a gun is extremely dangerous to the community. You might also be against illegal drug use or public pornography because of its possible harmful effects to society.

I'm against illegal drug use because it can harm the user. However, it would be his fault for using it in the first place. I don't go against pornography because it's just another art medium, even if it is being used inappropriately. As long as it's not brought up when unneeded, I don't care.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 3 You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.

There's no such thing as being too Crazy-Prepared. But I do hate those some few Americans who think that they can "dominate the world through military force".

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Democrat.

I came up as a "Hardcore Democrat" - which sounds worryingly like some kind of porn film involving politicians. However, as has already been said, it's very easy to give clear-cut answers to questions about what the US should be doing when you aren't American yourself. I wouldn't be the one paying more taxes or pulling out of Iraq.

[up][up] there is no such thing as being too Crazy-Prepared but our government isn't the one that should be doing it. I'm frankly very much against t5his war because it seems rather pointless and we have no business being world police. this is just fearmongering attempts for our government to grab more power. If we are to prepare against something it's the boys and girls in washington wn Wall Streat.

Apparently I am a HARD!CORE! libertarian.

Conservative/Progressive score: 10

You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 2

You're a capitalist purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 0

You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but that after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 2

You're a pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the U.S. spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Hardcore Libertarian.

Let's see how my political views would fare in Eagleland...

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 6 You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 1 You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.
