Did strikethrough get axed when nobody was looking?:

NOT THE BEES
Because it's not working right now.

We can only hope.

Test.

So it would seem.

Yup.

That should put an end to "clever" people striking out text instead of fixing it.

It's easy, mmkay?
I think it should still work on the forums, just not in the wiki itself. Can that be done?
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

Uh, sorry for trying to indicate that I said something else before editing? And ^H jokes are an internet staple :<

There may not be much use for it on the wiki, but I really will miss it on the forums, the liveblogs, discussions...
Nothing exists but you. And you are but a thought
People being clever with strikethrough? I didn't see anything like it.

Okay Guy
Alright.

I liked the strike thing.

But I realize what I want may not always be the best for the wiki.

But I ask you.

Who is the tub-thumper who ruined it for everyone.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova Scotian
I, too, will miss it on the forums/liveblogs/discussion pages.

Geronimo!
Gonna make wiki articles featuring it look really odd until they get searched out and fixed.

Hm?
Who is the tub-thumper who ruined it for everyone.

Pretty much everyone who used it on the main wiki ever.

Nthing the people who will miss it on the forums, though.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”
No need to hunt them down to fix. They stricken text will just disappear on the next edit.
Goal: Clear, Concise and Witty

That'll still make a lot of them make no sense.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Hm?
^^ The problem is that because of the way strikethrough text is generally used, sentences with it don't make sense in plaintext.

And ninja'd.

Hunt 'em down, if you like.

I think he means the text will be DELETED, not unstruckthrough.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

I think what he means is that anything inside the strike tags will be deleted, which should cause far fewer problems than the strikes disappearing but leaving the text behind.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.
Wasn't that clear? Yes. The stricken text will be deleted.
Goal: Clear, Concise and Witty
Yeah, like a lot of other features the ratio of being used properly/cleverly versus poor Take That remarks was too high.

Would it be possible to have the feature restored to the forums only? (Similar to the forum-specific color markup?)

Or at least liveblogs since they're kind of personal projects?
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
Or on Tropers/ pages?

Possibly, on everything except Troper pages, which are wiki pages.
