I'd say yes. But it really depends on the body she's possessing and most importantly, the settting.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. How do you guys write humor? Do you have problems with it? >___>
I...well, I don't really have a problem with it. Although I wouldn't say my writing is funny, but I like the humore I write. It's not LO Lfunny, but it adds a certain levity to the proceedings.
Normally, I base myself on character humor. Like knowing what this guy would say and then prepare the audience to that line via characterization. After all anticipation is a big source of humor.
There are a lot of tricks, but those are the ones that come at the top of my head.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. What demographic would a grimdark magical girl flash cartoon series appeal to most?
Alpha Parum est esse aliquid.I can write silly humor, but it only looks good in strictly silly works. If I try to put humor in an otherwise serious situation it comes out Uncanny Valley.
Gah, I can't even do character humor that isn't The Unfunny.
^ Er, no idea.

Madoka and Homestuck fans, Judecca.
@Mellon: It's hard as hell, writing humor during a serious situation. that's literally the only thing I say that Joss Whedon does better than any other writer.
As for character humor, well, as I don't base myself too much in archetypes (I suck at handling them) I mostly base myself in the sense of humor I establish for them in the first few scenes.
Like for example, one of my characters likes making philosophical references, so I put that in the first scene. Three or four scense later, I set up an obvious abyss joke, you know what's coming, you have a cheeky grin in your face because you know it. almost as if the text itself is reading your mind.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. What about Black Humor? Make a scene situationally amusing in an ironic sense, while still retaining its dramatic impact? Like Catch-22?

With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.I keep continually having problems with averting The Guards Must Be Crazy while still having a character escape from jail. Sometimes the plot I have in mind requires that they find some way to escape, but there's no way they'd be guarded by anyone who was known to be incompetent, or that anyone would take the risk of them escaping if they had any other option. Two particular stories that stalled out this way are a) the former Big Bad, now depowered and mute, escaping from the hero team's research guy, and b) a dark mage and an incubus escaping from a jail run by light mages. The latter one I posted about on this forum, had my current plan torn to shreds, but no one helped me fix it.
If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.I've got a probably stupid question regarding a project that has a bit to do with Kingdom Hearts (am I going to hell for wanting to write a Friends And The High Council ficlet?).
More specificaly, Riku's Nobody (which is a fan character). Can I has some help?
What do you need, mate?
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.- Personality. I imagined said Nobody as a colder version of Roxas. His element would be darkness. I keep imagining him as a perfectionist who's loyal to his friends, but still... I'm not sure.
- By what I read in the article on Xehanort on Friend And The High Council page thingie... I dunno how to say it without a spoiler, but I had the plotbunny of creating a willing chaneller for a certain someone merged against his will but don't know how to pull it off without turning the chaneller into a sue.
I'm working on un-sue-ifying one of my characters. I currently have no idea what her personality is supposed to be, and I don't know where to start @_@ I know she'll fill the role of The Chick.

‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.Well, we can't really help you unless we know more than this. It's not really a simple question, and may need its own thread if you're willing to debate character traits and stuff.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Umm...
She's a Human Alien who was suddenly warped down to earth, so she knows nothing about the planet. She generally has a type B personality; the only thing she really gets anxious about is figuring out how to get home (with the help of the rest of the cast). She's very nice, and she's a supporting character in the main five.
Does that help?
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.So far, she seems fine.
The thing about Mary Sues is that it's the kind of thing that is better seen in actual writing rather than just concepts and descriptions. You need to get the rest of her personality and in-story role worked out, then write with her and see.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."OK how should I cut a trip to Iceland short?
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.Leave out the part where they visit CCP's Fanfest

With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.Maybe that's something that happens in Iceland. Dunno.
Take the obvious route and say something bad happened in Iceland, forcing your character(s) to leave.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Or have a villain cause a volcano in Iceland to erupt.
CCP, Crowd Control Productions, is the developer behind EVE Online. A rather large MMO, CCP and EVE Online are actually a pretty important part of Iceland's Economy (CCP is headquartered in Reykjavik). Every November they host Fanfest, a convention dedicated to EVE.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."Sooooo I don't know what to do with this blog...
I mean, I have a goal, I just don't know how to get there...
When my scientific side gets involved in worldbuilding, things get out of hand.
No, Scientific side, I am not giving my harpies an authentic avian respiratory system. They're complicated enough as it is.
Be not afraid...
Wish I saw this before.
