Huh, article was corrected to say that he'd been there for a couple of weeks.

I was thinking: Ken Levine? Really?

But this is still pretty cool, I have to admit.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.

Doug Church did a major chunk of work on Thief, Deus Ex and System Shock. Most of the backbreaking work, too.

Oh please, please, PLEASE let him make another stealth FPP game.

Please. ;_;

Also, hire Eric and Terri Brosius.

And get the rights for System Shock from EA.

And... you know the rest.

It occurred to me: He might end up being involved with Episode 3.

Now all Valve needs to do is hire Warren Spector and I can die a happy man.

Though it'd be weird if they were hiring him specifically for Ep3. I mean, the man is first and foremost a designer - did they not even start work on it? Or are they revamping the whole thing? I'd rather believe he's there for something new, if only on account of ep3 taking so goddamn long.

That's the thing: Episode 3 will have combat with Advisers, a Deaf Rebel and the journey to the Borealis.

Chances are, they need to redefine some areas where better design skills would come in handy.

Hmm, didn't think of it this way, good point. Gameplay-wise, those'll be some pretty radical shifts, especially the Borealis thing - we've got literally no idea what's going to be on board, though everyone keeps hoping for Portal Guns, no idea why.

Or maybe they need someone to show them how to make a sequel hook for a series that's never going to get picked up again wink .

I've never heard of the man. Regardless, I like the stuff he's worked on.

Doug Church. He was a big part of Looking Glass.

I hope he wasn't too big of a part, because otherwise they'll never fit him in the same building with Gabe! (ba-dum-TISH)

All horribly tasteless joking aside, this is hella cool. cool

I thought this would be about Warren Spector.

Never heard of Doug Church.

People never heard of Brian Reynolds for a long time, too, but he did Civilizaton II, III...
