There were also reasons to be afraid of terrorism if you lived in the UK, especially Northern Ireland. Sometimes the present is better than the past.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"I remember wishing my family was more like the Keatons or the Huxtables. I remember Q Bert and Rubix Cube. Hell, I remember seeing Q Bert on a Rubix Cube! I remember Michael Jackson not being a sick, sad joke. I also remember being told not to play outside because there were sick freaks everywhere looking for kids to sacrifice to Satan. That was about the time I started questioning God's existence. Satanic Panic proved false, but I still question.
And in the name of Tropes, I will punish you!Probably the first how I ever remember watching was The Adventures Of Super Mario Bros 3 and Captain N: The Game Master. One hour of Nintendo related programing. First a 15 minute episode of Mario, then a half-hour season 2 Captain N, followed by another 15 minutes of Mario. In fact I still have most of those episodes on tape. I never even saw a season 1 Captain N episode until I found some on the internet. If it ever comes up, season 2 of Captain N was the best one and Mario Bros. 3 was better than the Super Show or Mario World.
I also remember watching She Ra, a little bit of Transformers as well as Saber Rider And The Star Sheriffs, though I was too young to follow the season spanning plot of the later. In fact I remember seeing the ends of more than a few Sailor Moon episodes while I was waiting for Saber Rider to come on. And now I just found out that they're making a Saber Rider And The Star Sheriffs game for the 3DS. Wut?

Oh, yeah! I remember She Ra too! I have the first season on DVD. My husband found it on sale and decided to surprise me with it when I got back from work. I was very happy cuz I had a bad day at work after I accidentally whacked my head on a monitor. The DVD came with a few PSA's from He-Man. I had to laugh at the one given by Ram Man. It was about not hitting your head!
And in the name of Tropes, I will punish you! Here's an obscure one. Teletoon Retro just started airing "The Smoggies." Anyone remember that show? Set on a tropical island populated by suntots, which are a lot like Smurfs, except they look like those troll dolls with the hair◊. Featured three bad guys who seemed to like polluting just for the heck of it. Consisted of dumb muscle and an absent minded inventor, neither of whom weere really bad. However they were constantly pushed around by a total bitch who insisted thare was some kind of magic coral on the suntot's island that could grant her immortality and she would do anything to get it. I looked and we don't even have a page for the series.

Ah, He-Man. And the Disney Afternoon.
Looking back, though, I always hated Teddy Ruxpin. Can't put a finger on why, but I did.
Because it was a vomit-inducing, dimple-cheeked barf-fest?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I actually want to get my daughter a Teddy Ruxpin, one of the original ones. Of course, knowing her, she'll pull the tape out of the casette and use it for confetti or something, so probably not a good idea.

Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Oh, Lord, I have vague recollections of that toy from adverts. "Hi, I'm Teddy Ruxpin! Can I be your friend? Hop into my car and I'll take you to see some puppies!" OK, I made the last sentence up, but I still think there's something a bit creepy about a talking teddy.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"I miss the day when Goth looked like this.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~I miss the days when Goth looked like this◊.
Come on, you knew it was coming.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!I know I liked the slang.
Hosers.
we're so kink compatible we could pilot a jaegerInspector Gadget's a show from the 80's that is still easy to find on TV. Unless you're talking about season 2 that is. I only discovered there was a second season this past year because it never ever aired on any of the channels that broadcast season 1. For those who don't know season 2 introduced a new character named Capeman who was even dumber than Gadget. Gadget also moved into a new house with gadgets literally everywhere and Penny got a new voice actor. The general consensus is that it wasn't as good as the first season. Also, you know how each episode would feature a new MAD agent? (With a few exceptions of course.) Well, in season 2 that agent would stick around for three episodes before disapearing.
Now I only know about any of this stuff because of the internet. I have never actually seen any of season 2 and I suspect many of you are in the same boat. Does anyone here know where these episodes can be watched online?
Ah, Capeman. This in-universe fanboy / Tagalong Kid could get on anyone's nerves, characters and audience alike.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Oh, god. Capeman.
-shudder-
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'here's a bit of nostalgia for everyone.◊

Untitled Power Rangers StoryOld TV shows often get aired again, I can watch Transformers or Inspector Gadget on Teletoon Retro any day. The commercials though? Once they're taken off the air nobody bothers to bring them back. The same goes for any networks commercial break bumpers or any hosts segments between shows. Unless you take the time to hunt them down on the internet.
If you watched TV in 1990 you may remember some of these commercials. I know I do. These are taken specifically from the saturday morning line-up on NBC.
Damn! I had a very good pic but I have to wait to have enough post to post the link. I'm born in the 1976 and I passed through all the eighties. Here in Italy the anime invasion started in the 1974, leadered by that Grendizer (called Goldrake here) and all the giant mechas of that era.
