Turbo is a Dream Works animated film (do you need to ask if it's CG or not by this point?!) intended to be finished in the next two or three years, about a fast ...................... snail.

That's right. A snail.

A snail who wants to become the ....... fastest snail in the world...

But hey, who am I to judge? We all thought a fat panda who wanted to know kung fu was a stupid idea, and look how THAT came out?! Brilliantly!

Well, snails have a cuteness factor too.

How on Earth does he join the race? Is he like, human-sized?

We'll just have to find out in the trailer or the film.

That picture looks like something out that awful Turbo Dogs show that was on NBC.

...I find this premise hilariously awesome.

To me, it sounds like a premise some buds at a bar would crack as a joke about Dreamworks.

Samuel L. Jackson is in anime.

He's up for this stuff.

That poster looks like the cover to a Video Brinquedo DVD. And totes agree with the person who said this sounds like a parody of the type of generic family film Dreamworks Animation is infamous for. But lets wait and see, they've made far stupider sounding premises work.

^^^ From what I know about Sam Jackson, it probably went something like this.

Dreamworks Rep: "Well, we know this premise is a little goofy, but..."

S.L.J.: "Man, this sounds hilarious! I'm in!

Dreamworks Rep: "Er... ok... we'll pay you pretty well for it."

S.L.J.: "That's even better!"

A short yet rather amusing teaser from a week or so ago.

Looks funny at least.

Samuel L. Jackson is the guy who said yes to a film called Snakes on a Plane. Can't see any reason why he would say no to something like this.

Snakes are okay, snails are okay. I wonder what's in store for his future.

I saw the trailer a few weeks ago. It made me want to watch Cars again. That's not a good thing.

I know of very few cartoon snails. I can only think of three— Snail on Franklin, Shelley on Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, and I think there's one on Spongebob... Gary, right?

Too early to tell. I'll give my opinion once I know how the Snail gets so fast, and after I see what else besides racing is there to the story.

And thus the "Wreck-It-Ralph" jokes begin.

I have seen plots like this, but they majority invole terripins and tortoises instead of gastropods.

Wait a little longer. Someone will make a joke about it being "The Fastest Snail Alive!"

Yep, I'm still here.

There's the snail in Adventure Time, but that more of an Easter Egg than anything.

Somebody on Cartoon Brew made this observation:

At one point, the protagonist might paint an "S" on his car (for "Snail"). When he starts zooming around the track, someone will say "Look at that S-car go!"

The entire movie may have been created around that joke.

4 Years of actually trying, and all respect for Dreamworks goes flying because of one pun.

This movie is going to be something alright.
