His recent statement makes me marginally less bad about having him as one of my two Senators.

Of course, I'd feel a lot better if a so-called Family Values senator had actually showed some real family values, but I guess we get what they pay for.

The "Family Values" shtick again.

How tiring.

At least he's sort of owning up to it and removing himself - out of guilt? Embarassment? Not for me to say.

Still, extramarital affairs can really screw stuff up.

I'm glad you know this, Senator. It's a shame you actually had to commit the sin to find out.

What kind of last name is "Ensign"...?

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!

At least he had the grace not to be a hypocrite. I'll let him off without any condemnation or complaints. I wish him a happy life, but I doubt he's going to get it.

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

Whelp, glad he at least has a conscience about it, you know, compared to other people who has made a tendency to admit they were wrong and continue it anyway.

I'm thinking of a democratic President.

Personally I don't much care about their sexual proclivities...I did see a reference to a citizens' group listing him as one of the 15 most corrupt senators, however.

And he is 1/8 Filipino! Knew it!

Yay. I don't care about the bedroom activities of politicians.

If one of them goes for this, it's just another tacit victory for the sex police.

As much as I think it's pointless, you've got to admire him for sticking up with his principles; for a second I thought he was the senator who was looking for tranny sex on Craigslsit.

Honestly, this one does not think that marital affairs have anything to do with one's capability as a politician, but I am very glad to know that this guy is not a hypocrite at least. Can respect that.

Am I the only one who finds the whole scene completely ridiculous? He screwed a friend's wife. It's not the most morally upright thing to do, but stuff happens. What's the big deal?

If more politicians really did step down after doing something corrupt (or at least getting caught...) that'd be great. Too bad it's mostly for sex scandals rather than, y'know, actual corruption.

It's hard to believe that sixty years ago, FDR could get away with bedding his secretary and the princess of Norway and it was understood that the newspapers had to keep it quiet.

Then again, in those days we had vastly too much secrecy.

Crap, he got away with that? I was pretty sure he was all busted up from polio. If true, then he had a Charisma of 18+ or something...
