@dRoy if you're thinking of getting a 360.. Get one. The console is amazing and has a great library.
It sure does. I mostly played some console games developed for P Cs and the real ones look better. Also, I love shooters.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. It's only gonna be inevitable that the 360 will no longer get new games and all the focus will be put on something that will become a hunk of plastic once they pull the plug.
The PS 3 has a much better library.
And the PS 2 is better than that. :P
I do own and love an Xbox 360 though.
The 360 is the most successful hardcore console this generation; it's got more than enough good games on it to occupy him after support drops. Plus it's got two more years of major releases.
I can attest to that first one.

"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!My take:
- Battlefield 4: Military shooter.
- Fifa 14: Sports.
- Call Of Duty Ghosts: Military shooter.
- Madden NFL 25: Sports.
- Dead Rising 3: Inspired by military shooters.
- Kinect Sports Rivals: Sports.
- Killer Instinct: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER
- Forza: Racing
- Loco Cycle: Racing/Action?
- Ryse Son Of Rome: -Background laughter-
- Skylanders Swap Force: I see "Spyro" is out of the title.
- Watch_Dogs: I'm interested in this game now.
Overall not a launch lineup that appeals to me, but cruddy launch lineups seem to be the new industry standard.

When was the last time there has been a great launch line-up anyway? The SNES? Uhhh maybe the PSP?
Well, if you like JRP Gs, then the PS 3 is the way to go. For ever one Xbox-exclusive JRPG, there are 5 for the PS 3. but if you are into shooters of any kind (first-person, third-person or old-fashioned shmups), then the 360 has the edge. For everything, they seem pretty equal, though I think the PS 3 may have a few mor fighting games forit, and the 360 has the Fable series or WRP Gs on it.
My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]I thought d Roy already had a PS 3.
You know, it seems to be a cycle that whenever a company gets really successful during a console generation, they get cocky and think that they can get away with bullcrap during the next one.
Nintendo went through it with the N64 and Gamecube, Sony went through it with the PS 3 and Vita, and now Microsoft is going through it with the Xbox One.
Nintendo and Sony learned, and are pretty much completely humble and willing to please the consumer first with the Wii U and PS 4. Too bad about Microsoft.
On the whole Vita issue, why the heck didn't they just whack a second analogue stick on the PSP-3000 and call it good? As I see it, it is the sole benefit of the new console over the old model. I can take or leave the second touch screen thing.
@Shirow - Oh no, I couldn't afford it. My only console is my laptop.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. Most developers don't want to make a launch title. They don't fully understand the optimization and what you can do; they basically have to make a very simple game on buggy alpha dev kits.
Exceptions to the shit launch titles are the Dreamcast and the first Xbox. I can't think of anyone else. Early Nintendo maybe?
Edit: oh shit Forza!!! That's actually a nice launch the XB 1 has with Forza and Watch Dogs. I'm glad my boyfriend preordered it now.

The Wii U had an alright launch.
nyo ho ho
Yeah. The main problem with the Wii U's line-up is the lack of games between launch and August.
When I heard MS promise 15 exclusive titles in the first year, I thought to myself "within the first year" clearly isn't soon enough precisely because of how things turned out with the Wii U. I suppose a new Forza Motorsport game is comparable to New Super Mario Bros U with Ryse being comparable to Nintendo Land (maybe. Ryse is doing pretty well on the pre-order list if nothing else), so that may still be the case, though it's probably going to get more multi-platform titles to help it over the coming year, but those aren't really going to help in the fight against the PS 4.

Was the Gamecube not well received? I mean yeah, it was more on the casual end of the spectrum, but I thought that was what it was going for. Even if it wasn't Nintendo's high-point (And in my opinion it at least earned a Bronze medal, but then again I'm biased), it wasn't nearly as big a disappointment as the Wii.
Incidentally, what language is, "Ryse," from? Intuitively, I'd guess Greek or Hebrew, but it's kind of a weird latinization. Maybe it's an abbreviation or something.
(Also, all the sources I can find list the protagonist's name as, "Marius Titus." Pretty sure it should be the other way around, but maybe there's a reason.)

Fire, air, water, earth...legend has it that when these four elements are gathered, they will form the fifth element...boron.The Gamecube was perennially in third place. It did take the bronze, but it was only a three-man race in the first place.
The Wii, however, was a huge success. Not so much for the hardcore crowd, though.
Ryse is being made by the Crysis guys. They just have a habit of Xtreme Kool Letterz.
Also Ryse looks godawful.
Well, I just checked the chards, and it looks like things have changed a fair bit since I last checked.
There aren't any Xbone games in the top 20 any more. Not a single one, while there are four PS 4 games (Battlefield4, Watch_Dogs, Destiny and Killzone Shadow Fall). The PS 4 version of Co D: Ghosts has also started to become more popular than the Xbone version, and Ryse is behind Dead Rising 3 in terms of Xbone exclusives. I forgot if that was the case before, but I'm just mentioning it.
EDIT: &
I wouldn't rule out the Wii U being another Gamecube for Nintendo just yet. The only reason it isn't a certainty is because of Microsoft's stupidity. The main difference this gen is that it is entirely possible to finish fourth in this three-horse race if a main competitor does badly enough, with all the Ouyas and Oculus Rifts which are entering the console market as wildcards.

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]Well on the bright side, the Gamecube did indeed get a lot of amazing games from Nintendo, so maybe the Wii U will have the same if it indeed becomes like the Cube.
If the general vitriol towards the Xbox One is reflected in sales (as in, Sega 32X levels of abysmal), I think we could be seeing the PS 4 and Wii U as the sole competitors for this generation.
Eh.Ffft. Microsoft, forced to slum it with the likes of the Ouya.
I never understood why the Game Cube got so badly crushed that gen. I mean Xbox had Halo and... Fable, I guess? PS 2 was the PS 2 and therefore untouchable. I'd have thought that Game Cube would have landed second but it didn't.
Won't stop it from being my favourite system ever, though.

Oh, and by the way... I felt like saying. KH Insider renamed their thread on Microsoft.
It is now "Microsoft -Dead Box One-"
Ha,ha,ha.
