I think that's a very bad idea as people will bicker and move examples around continuously.
Fight smart, not fair.I don't think that particular grouping is a good idea, but this one probably could do with some folderizing due to its length. I'm just not sure what would be a good way to split them up.
Genre's or alphabetical would probably be best.
Fight smart, not fair.I could start by creating folders and note for people to move examples outside folders into folders?
Okay I added few folders and moved few examples into em. Most of examples I am not sure how to place, so its up to people to move em around :D

I'm stuck on many of those entries. can someone help move uncatalogued entries into folders?
Entries that just consist of a name are X Just X (I know it's red, people kept thinking it was a trope, trust me there's a page there). Stuff them on the discussion page.
Fight smart, not fair.I sorted some of them, the page needs a good scrub down, half of it is bitching about changes or talking about how good the adaption is.
Fight smart, not fair.I can't figure some of those entries. What do we do with the mixed ones like horror/scifi?
I think we should do a scrub-down and clean up for fluff, complaining and overall natter first, as well as sorting by name. We'll see where that puts us.
One question though, do we alphabetize by the name of the book or the movie? They're not always the same.
"Thorough preparation must lead to success. Neglect nothing."Since movies is final result, as well as use movie names as sub-sort.
I checked some again, but I'm still stuck on so many.
Does anyone else think this would work better as an index and we would have less whining if we wiped out everything but the name?
Fight smart, not fair.'k I sorted another batch and hit the bottom. I know little to nothing about the rest.
Questions:
- ) Do comic books count as books?
- ) What should be done with Tropic Thunder, it's an in-universe version. The movie itself is a comedy, but the "book" is a war action one.
Films based on comics in the graphic novel format, like Watchmen, should count. Films based on serial comic books, like Spider Man, shouldn't count.
Rhymes with "Protracted."'k. Any preference on leaving the elaboration? It's mostly "this adaption sucked" cruft.
Fight smart, not fair. The Film of the Book isn't an inherently negative trope, so I don't see any reason to editorialize in the examples list. Keeping it neutral seems like the right move here.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Note major differences, but steer clear of calling them good or bad.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I'll go through and sanitize in a bit. Should I just blank any "they made lots of changes and it sucked" if they don't go into specifics?

Fight smart, not fair.IMHO pure comments should be removed, but differences should be noted. problem is which parts are comments and which is details on difference?
That's what I would do, deboss.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Wow nice work guys. The trope looks a LOT better with changes. More proper trope now.
Whew. hard work indeed. I moved nearly all remaining examples into folders. Check over and move again if think is wrong.
Theres one with pretty lot of personal commentary, I added a note but because I suck on editing, I left example as is.
The description could probably use a trim. It looks really choppy.
Fight smart, not fair.I don't write good descriptions so I can't do that. Oh well.
I wonder who was original writer of this trope.
Considering the length of this trope, I wonder if splitting into folders in order by how faithful film is to book is a good idea?
