^ Ironically, they did have an NFS MMO circa 2003, I believe. Unsurprisingly, it died.
There was also a Hot Wheels MMO...
Back on topic: S.T.A.L.K.E.R..
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudHarry Potter MMO? Could work, though probably would require a not-entirely-casual approach. Turn Academagia into a MUD, lighten up on the number-crunching, instant classic get!
There's an inherent problem with people not realizing that outside of the cool stuff that happens to Harry and people in a few choice professions, the wizarding world as outlined in those books is a Crapsaccharine World where people do indeed lead mundane lives not too different from ours, so it's gonna be pretty hard to make one based solely around students of wizarding schools. Especially seeing how the canon only listed three and one is girls-only and one is boys- and dark-magic only, so any expansion of the setting would quickly lead to outcries of Ruined Forever and what-have-you, especially considering how this happens to every other fanfic out there, even on the decent fanfic hub sites =)
^^I think I actually played the Hot Wheels one. You could get cars from that Wheel Of Power thing they did back then.
And Hot Pursuit (the 2010 one) could have had a multiplayer free roam, but apparently not.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelSonic MMO sounds interesting, especially if they base it on the SatAM/Archie continuity — but I foresee issues seeing how the slightest bit of latency when your mascot is centered around covering a lot of ground in short amounts of time
Pokemon has a lot of potential, but I don't envy the guy who has to tweak numbers on 649 control schemes, and I hope your actionbar has more than four slots! I can see a lot of endgame campaigns jumping out, though. Big war sequence against a shitload of Team Rocket mechas, Missingno, a room covered floor to walls to ceiling with Wobbuffets who bounce attacks all over the place...
Actually, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons were co-ed in the books, and a Salem school of witchcraft was mentioned as well.

Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! You could always have the Harry Potter MMO feature such raid bosses as Mercury, Venus, the rape ape, and surf ninjas.

Okay, that just broke my mind. I'm thankful none of my HP fanfics became famous, infamous or well-known otherwise, although I probably am one of the few (if not the only one) idiots who tried to write a Harry Potter+Neuromancer+Shadowrun crossover. Don't ask.
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.You don't need fancy stats. You don't need missions (though a few would be nice). You don't need fetch quests, goals, or things to bribe your way to victory for.
Just enhanced functionality for a few objects (balls and sports equipment, maybe instruments, and a couple other things), and one big-ass playground to run around in.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaSo you'd get what is essentially Second Life, but for a younger audience and with better graphics? I'm game!
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Pick a mons game, any mons game.
But especially one game in particular.
And "Reality" is unveiled. What did it want...? What did it see...? What did it hear...? What did it think...? What did it do...?Mega Man. You play as a Robot Master and alternate between building your own level and trying your luck against other players'. If you win through, then you'll fight an AI the other player programmed (with a simple in-game interface) or, if they're handy, engaging in PVP! (If you happen to be playing but not in a match when someone beats your level, you'll get a notification and have the option to table what you're doing to fight them.)
The catch with the level builder is that you have to beat your own level before it can go live. The screen where players choose what levels to challenge have vital statistics like "widest pit," "highest jump required" and "strongest enemy" to ensure that nobody gets screwed by their character design choices. Also, you'll probably be able to switch out your equipment on the fly if you're in a level or fighting the computer.
Apart from each robot master's fortress, there are probably communal areas, dungeons, plots by Dr. Wily and other things to goof around with, too.
Broderlands
It practically is one already, Just beef it out, add more classes and visual tweaks for armor, and away we go.
Behold, art. http://insanelyzanter.deviantart.com/Just look at the magical world history/lore and tell me that isn't screaming to be made into an MMO? Or the Academy itself for that matter?
A Mega Man MMO is actually being made!
http://animemmorpgs.blogspot.com/2010/08/at-last-megaman-mmo-for-win.html
However, there's no info on it at all, so how it'll be made is anyone's guess.
I'm up for joining Discord servers! PM me if you know any good ones! There is info, it will be side-scrolley, it's made by Koreans, it will probably not be marketed outside of Korea and its trailer is epic (and totally non-indicative of anything whatsoever).
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Mass Effect. You play as a Spectre, buy your own ship and go around the galaxy taking missions, having adventures, maybe put a bit of effort into stopping the Reapers...
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Pokemon is slowly moving towards the MMO scence, with 5th gen having better wifi connectivity and what not. I would still want it to be straight up pokemon, no action bars or anything, just pokemon, but with a living breathing world.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Gundam MMO!!! DO WANT
My other signature is a Gundam.
Need For Speed?
