People with powers have a blindspot, doesn't matter how powerful you are you have that blindspot somewhere and that gives a chance for the mundane and unpowered to exploit.

Don't fear the people with super powers, fear the mundanes who keep pace.

The galaxy outside of the Sol System is littered with near godlike stones called Asterisks, they are used to enable clarketech and create what is basically magic.

Because I like stars, Bravely Default's job system and finding ways to reference the Hindu Astras. (Which is being use for the most powerful form of magic that Asterisks enables)

pretty much, but they can be carved into different forms.

I should also mention that chess had also changed into a spectator sport in the vein of football with idol elements.

Dragons in my setting are human-looking (albeit with Supernatural Martial Arts and Breath Weapons) by default but temporarily manifest more dragon-like characteristics, up to and including a full transformation, the more power they draw on. Older, extremely skilled dragons can transform more permanently.

Kishlaith's gods are not judged as "good" or "evil" based upon their traits and morality, but upon how much of a threat they pose to mankind. For example, Keepyr the Gray Maiden is a monstrous sadist who delights in subjecting mortal souls to endless psychological torture. However, she has zero interest in harming the world or its people and is satisfied with a steady supply of dead evildoers via a deal she worked out with the Bright King long ago.

The Father of the Void on the other hand is actually rather polite, aloof and overall subdued in demeanor, and yet he is reviled and feared throughout the world since his objective is to erase Kishlaith, all of its life, and all of the gods from existence and return to a time when he, his brother, and their parents were the only entities who existed.

Centuries ago, the Empire produced a set of AI supercomputers now known as fae. These fae were tasked with running much of the mundane caretaker systems in areas both urban and unsettled. They're mostly autonomous and only need the barest of maintence, to the point that most people forgot how they even work or even that they're there most of the time. They just keep on protecting the areas they've made home from both human and natural disasters.

While most people cannot command them, they can be reasoned with if you get on their good side. They can start fires, bring over water, direct animals, light up a city block, show past memories and all sorts of stuff. Picking up your trash are repairing broken facilities are just some ways you can get a fae's attention and hopefully establish a working relationship. It's even better is you can understand their "language" coding and can communicate more effectively.

The stone structures used as worship sites by one of the religions in a (work-in-progress) story of mine, thought to have been built for religious purposes by an ancient civilization, are actually the remnants of ordinary, everyday buildings from said civilization. The most "sacred" of them all, now deep in the midst of a forest, was basically an apartment building.

There is also a minor character who does one or two impossible things that are outside the scope of the setting's regular magic system, and attributes them to that same religion. These are the only actual miracles connected to any religion in that story.

Put simply, the religion whose most important rituals are based on a big archaeological misunderstanding might actually be the most true one in the setting.

My setting is very weird already but one thing takes the cake for weirdness. It is entirely possible to talk a regular door into unlocking itself.

The concept of "ghosts"—-spirits of the deceased who roam the world or linger in certain places and cause various phenomenon—-is completely foreign on Kishlaith. This is because the Corpse Hound, the god in charge of collecting the souls of the deceased and guiding them to the afterlives is masterfully efficient and very few souls can escape his attention even if they wanted to. The closest to "ghosts" are a certain type of vampire who are disembodied souls enmeshed within an allotment of special blood, all of them being the result of the first and only time someone escaped the Corpse Hound.

Despite being an Urban Fantasy with a lot of Mundane Fantastic, namely a ton of elemental/biome-ish races that are just a regular part of global civilization, the world of my "big" planned webnovel still has its "Ten Wonders" that come off as mysterious even by their standards. Most of them are unlikely to be involved with the story and the heroes may not even visit themnote , and they're "just" things like an abnormally large mountain range or a deep wide circular pit in the ocean. But #1 on the list of Ten Wonders — a strange warped "fleshy forest" filled with powerful monsters unlike any other fauna of the world — will factor in around the end of the main story. Only one of the Ten Wonders (the aformentioned mountain range) is set in the... "country" so to speak that the main leads live in, and practically on the opposite end from where their home/base is.

The final scene of the "opening arc" is a small preview of this "fleshy forest" with minimal context, and on that specific last chapter of the arc, I am in the process of finishing up the rough draft of that scene.

I write stupid crap about naked people.

Magic in my Low Fantasy World is based on the four classical elements and just another quirk of this world's humanity. Nevertheless, it has Magitek equivalents to cellphones and the internet.

The drama industry is thriving. All the cool kids are watching their Teen Drama shows, and their parents watch their soaps. Books with drama-centered plots fly off the shelves.

Different setting from the earlier posts.

The resident Magical Girls have abilities resembling Marvel Symbiotes. This aspect comes into play mostly when "eating" or storing items, or when they become the analogies to Madoka style witches.
