Tropers / A Pod-of Seals

Go To

Er, hello.

...A blank page can be frustrating, can't it?

Anyway, note I am a Pod of Seals. Whether this means I am an actual pod of seals is up to your personal interpretation of reality. But I'm probably not. After all, if a pod of seals wanted to join TV Tropes, why would they all share an account?

Whether or not I'm a sentient Hive Mind of pinnipedsnote , things I definitely am include a fan of Terry Pratchett, El Goonish Shive, and TabletopRPGs in general; an aspiring writer; a language enthusiast; and a user of TV Tropes.

You can probably find me other places on the Internet using the same name, if you look hard enough, but why would you bother doing that? I'm not that interesting, you know. You could also find me in a few places using a different name that I used a long time ago, but I'm not going to tell you what that name is because I'd rather you didn't find me in those places.

One of my favorite tropes is Dark Is Not Evil (and to a somewhat lesser extent, Light Is Not Good). I also like Genius Ditz, Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass, Ditzy Genius, and all other permutations of "silly and/or dumb but also competent," as well as White-and-Grey Morality, Grey-and-Gray Morality, Morality Kitchen Sink, and Blue-and-Orange Morality.

Some tropes that apply to me are:

  • Cuckoosnarker: I say very odd things sometimes. I also employ sarcasm with great frequency.

  • Sophisticated as Hell: I do have a large vocabulary, but when I talk, it's usually interspersed with Buffy Speak (I forget the words for concerningly mundane things), slang, and just, you know, normal sentences. In Real Life, I also use a lot of "buffer words," like "like," "um," "well," "you know," and so on.

  • Absent-Minded Professor: Imma go open the whatsit. The food-cooling-mechanism. The fridge.

  • Obfuscating Stupidity/Obfuscating Insanity: I often play up my absent-mindedness and general eccentricity. Not for any greater purpose, you understand: just for Rule of Funny.
