I've started my own Fearblog, In The Shuffling Madness, which will serve as a combination short-story dump and actual story of its own. The setup is that a man who has been collecting text records of various Fear Mythos accounts has been having run-ins with the Fears himself, and, to protect the information for others who might need it, has begun typing up the text records for others to use while he waits for the Fears to actually kill him.
Anyone interested can find it here, though there are only two entries as of yet since I've just started it.
"Sometimes it is better to light a flamethrower than to curse the darkness." - Terry PratchettOH GOD THE RAPTURE IS BURNING finally has its own trope page. I think it's earned one by this point.
Recommended read for all newcomers to The Fear Mythos! c:
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Hey guys. Nice setup there, I have barely scratched the surface and I'm tempted to make a story.
Hello and welcome, friend! We greatly encourage that! :D
In fact, if you're still thinking about doing it, I'd highly recommend visiting our Fear Mythos forum, for we hardly really use this thread anymore. We're a really nice bunch, I promise. Just watch out for crowbars. :D
If you decide against writing a story, that's also really fine.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Updates for the troper lurkers (of my stories, at least)
Act III of Rapture is coming along really well. While Act I focused more on introductions and Act II focused on epic scales, Act III is getting a lot more down-to-earth and dealing with some of the richest character development and relationships I have ever written. Plus epic guitar duels.
Administry for a Cause ended its first movement out of, like.. two. It won't continue for a little while.
Testing in Progress also ended its first movement, though this story is considerably longer and will, in fact, keep continuing as I write entries. The end of this movement marked a sort of Wham Episode of The Reveal. Spoilers, though. The actual posts pay tribute to Portal among many other things, and you'll find our own alliterator provides an excellent voice for the "computer."
Penny Farthing Street began, a Fearblog written by my dad that may or may not be related to one of my blogs. So far, it's some surprisingly good stuff.
Liquid Len's posts in Topography Genera Center East are taking a sort of backseat for now as I work out some of the kinks to the beginning of the blog's first movement. That's right, we haven't even started the first movement yet; we're still in the overture. I love being ambitious. In the meantime, alliterator's doing a good job keeping Doctor Cloud's arc interesting.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)You're now in good terms with him?
Yep. As a bit of a spoiler for my threat in OTC, my dad got counseling and we're great friends now.

tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Update for our troper lurkers: we have a Wiki now.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Ah, cool.
Now you'll all have to learn yet another nomme de nette of mine. >:)
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable>_>

Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science. The Fear Mythos is one year old probably.
Here. Happy Fearniversary. This is what I did, if the others want to share theirs, they can post theirs.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)For some reason, I can't get to the forum anymore. Weird.
BEHOLD, I pulled an alliterator and made an entire blog in one night: Harlequin Metropolis. Embrace the Archangle. That's right, I took The Archangle, a pun turned into a joke, and turned it into a pretty damn sense-making story. And it's completely serious.
I AM PROUD OF MYSELF.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Good work!
Oh, also; guys.
Today is the anniversary of the day I first created this thread.
Scerry anniversary!
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableUh...is it too late to add suggestions for Fears?

I have the urge to dissect you now...It's too late here, since no one reallys posts here anymore. Why not visit our forum? It's not too late there. To be honest though, you better be extremely confident in your Fear; we only accept Fears that will add something that other Fears don't already provide.

Both bumping this and linking to more Rapture.
A reminder: Rapture has a trope page. It's at The Rapture Logs. And news: Rapture has actual fan art now! We've gotten fanfiction, fanart, and even fanmail. The story's gettin' there in terms of popularity! :D In terms of story, we're building up to probably some other climax, and of course, we're slowly building up to the SUPER climax at the finale of Act III, and we're very slowly building up to the terminal coming of Rapture. We've introduced The Neonate, and we're almost ready to activate Operation: Obfuscation. In English? The comedy of the story should switch to horror soon.
Feel free to add to Rapture's trope page all that you want.
...and expect the beautiful artist known as Logic to make some extra-sexy pictures of Rapture's extra-sexy women. I've seen a rough draft of a picture she's drawing for The Harlequin, and lemme tell you, hoooo boy, dat ass. owo She even tried drawing a Camper. Just yeah, look forward to that.
And finally, also-beautiful artist Cadet intends on doing an Act III poster soon.
Look forward to it all, and look forward to even more epic story action! The next XanaDuel won't be for a while, so I should just be writing log after log, developing The Neonate and the pre-existing Fears as well. We'll be developing more on Jordan's emotions and on the conflicting interests of the main protagonists. I know you didn't read Rapture expecting a teen drama, but bare with me.
AND ALSO I'M IN TALKS WITH PIXAR ABOUT AN ANIMATED RAPTURE MOVIE no I wish
Oh, and the Fear Mythos forum has 99 members. JOIN NOW, YOU COULD BE OUR HUNDREDTH!

tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)Super-duper bump. I.. probably will get funny looks for bumping such an old thread. <:D
But we have an official website/series bible now! It's a really important website that is very much relevant to this thread, and I couldn't let this thing sink without having this. Now that it has the link in this thread, this can happily die and it'll be like a linear narrative from "Hey, let's make a mythos" to "Here, we made a mythos."
..and for those who are somehow lurking this and not lurking Rapture but are also somehow interested, Rapture's coming out of a two-month hiatus. Trust me, it is. I know some people don't believe me— at least, I'm assuming— but it is. There's gonna be, like, new T-shirts and everything.
There, I've done all I can do. I'm expecting to, like, get a mod to post with a mod hat saying 'HEY, YOU GUYS' or something like that and then warning me to never bump such an old thread again.
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)To bad this is on the back of my mind...
Super duper bumping this thread to introduce...

Chihuahua, I would recommend you sign up on our forum as well if you're considering it. If you don't end up making a blog, at least there's Danger Time.
Anyways, all of them hurt people in some fashion, so any would work. Smiley is a good one due to his creepy sexualish serial killer angle, though.
