Ah, yes, Kaikin Ward is now open. I think I'll be limiting it to ten players at once - we have seven now, not counting me - but I'll reopen signups if I feel like we need to. =)

Which characters are accepted?

Quick question: do the girls need to have some tragic backstory which explains why they made a wish? Because, um, I tried writing up one like that before realising that she just wasn't me, and so I... Kinda started work on a different one who doesn't have some tragic event happen to her and quite frankly her wish is a little bit selfish. Uh... Is that okay? Or would it not really fit what you've got going? >.>

Nope. I got there just fine without any Angst in Vera's wish reason.

Yeah that's totally fine. Having a girl with a pretty much normal or whimsical background who decides she wants a free wish and to become a magical girl for the heck of it is all good!

...So no one's going to tell me which characters are accepted?

^^^And, in fact, is part of the reason Sayaka collapsed so hard.

Well, yes, Sayaka did follow along the lines. It'd be interesting to play that out with a character here, too.

Alright! I don't know if this is okay or not, but, um... Here goes...

• Basic:
  • Name: Melody Harmonia (stage name; outright refuses to answer to her real name, Ryoko Shiki)
  • City:
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Melody is somewhat taller than average and has a slightly atheletic build. Her bubblegum pink hair (dyed, she's naturally a brunette) reaches her waist and is usually unkempt and untidy, with tufts sticking out all over the place. She refuses to wear her school uniform (it'd be conforming to THE MAN to do so, after all), and generally just wears ripped blue jeans and black t-shirts.
  • Personality: Loud, overblown and very enthusiastic about just about everything. She lives to play the hero, yearning for the attention that can only be achieved when you're right in the spotlight, and wants everyone's eyes to be on her and her alone.
  • Background: Music has always been a big part of Ryoko's life, ever since she was a child and her parents signed her up for piano lessons. She loved it, but... Something just didn't seem right with it. It was fun, yes, but it lacked a certain "something" that she couldn't quite put her finger on. And then, she discovered rock. Instantly, she realized that this, this power, this fury, this energy was what she was looking for all this time. Soon enough, she had ditched the piano and slung on a six-string instead, and vowed to become the world's greatest guitarist. She quickly formed a band, with her on lead vocals and guitar, but... Whilst her voice lived up to her stage name "Melody Harmonia" perfectly, her guitar playing... Wasn't quite up to the same level. For whatever reason, she just couldn't move her fingers fast enough, or right enough, and anything she tried to play just sounded terrible no matter how much she practiced. Frustrated, she wished over and over again for some way, any way for her to get good at it...

• Magical Girl:
  • Wish: "I wanna be the greatest guitarist ever!"
  • Wish derived special ability: Sheer mastery of the electric guitar; somehow, this also grants her a degree of electricity projection and manipulation (the electricity "dances" to her music; don't ask how that works).
  • Weapon: A sword that is also a guitar.◊
  • Magical Girl Costume: What looks like a red one-piece swimsuit, with white shoulder pads. On her legs she wears knee-length black boots, and across her head is a black headband. Finally, she wears a dark red choker; attached to this is her Soul Gem.
  • Other:

Let's see here... on Shizuko, Deathpigeon.

Her profile's a little thin, truth be told. I'm also a little concerned about the 'no empathy' bit... if she can't interface with other characters, and will never come to care about any of them, she's not a very rounded or dynamic character. Since the Demons don't have much personality to begin with, I imagine this roleplay will be more heavily character-interaction-based than the last one, so you can see why I'd be concerned. Can you elaborate a bit on her personality and motivations?

Now for Ryoko (that is, Melody), Moerin.

She looks good to me, actually. We'll need a burst of energy to enliven all these serious girls, I think; just take care you don't Flanderize her. Accepted.

Hmm... Ok, thanks. Let me see... Now I'm considering whether or not I should start over or just change her... Scratch that, I think I can salvage her... Where did you ask about her because it seems like you were expecting people to be following the Discussion thread, but I wasn't, so I just might've missed it because it was in the Discussion thread...

• Name: Sadao Shizuko
• City: [Insert city name here]
• Age: 17
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: Shizuko hair is long, black, and messy. Her eyes are red, and her body is emaciated. Her arms, legs, and fingers seem unnaturally long. She smells like she hasn’t washed in weeks.
• Personality: Shizuko is deeply mistrustful of people, especially men as they remind her of her father. She puts on an outward appearance of being cold and uncaring, but, in reality, she just would prefer not to get hurt again, and thus she pushes people away. Deep down she truly cares about people, and wants to help them out, but she refuses to admit that, not even to herself preferring to say that she fights for herself and the power she derives from the grief seeds.
• History: Grew up with a neglectful, at best, father, who, when he noticed her, would often beat her and her mother, when he noticed her at all. Eventually, he beat her mother to death, but got off on a technicality, and never saw any jail time. As such, Shizuko jumped at the chance to become a magical girl, and leave her old life behind.
• Magical Girl?: Yes.
  • Wish: For her father to never notice her again.
  • Wish derived special ability: She can make herself 'unnoticed'. She's still visible, just ignored.
  • Weapon: Knives, which she can retrieve from her sleeves.
  • Magical Girl Costume: A fancy black shirt with a red vest, and a black skirt with red stripes. Black gloves, and shoes with red stockings (Grade A Zettai Ryouiki).

Ok, I completely rewrote the personality... I hope this is better... (Sorry for the double post.)

• Name: Yuuki Kotsuji
• City: Kaikin Area
• Age: 16
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Yuuki is a very handsome, quite pretty looking young man, he has light blond hair and dark blue eyes, giving him an odd, foreign look, mostly due to his ancestry. He prefers medium sized black T-shirts, a pair of gray pants, a red jacket, and boots. He sometimes wears a scarf. His shirt shows his wiry, muscular build.
• Personality: Yuuki is a cheerful, good natured Nice Guy, but due to his appearance, most people are a little bit wary of him. He is, though, quite reserved and dislikes loud people who follow him around too much. He has a love of all things awesome. He tends to not notice when people are feeling affection toward him. When he likes someone, he acts very protective of them and can be very affectionate, it just takes a while for him to get into the routine.

• Name: Motoharu Koroda
• City: Kaikin Area
• Age: 15
• Gender: male
• Appearance: He is the younger, more effeminate and Keetish friend of the above Yuuki. He has a slender build, a very girlish appearance, and he has somewhat long black hair, matching black eyes, and he prefers wearing a pink shirt, a white jacket, jeans and sneakers.
• Personality: Motoharu is a keet, but despite this, his relationship with Yuuki is purely platonic, in fact, he was adopted into Yuuki's family, and gets really angry if you even suggest he and Yuuki are in love or something. Despite appearances, Motoharu is a very tough young man who uses a particular martial art. He dislikes the common perception that an effeminate guy is automatically gay, and tries his very best to flirt with as many girls as possible. But he'll Never Live It Down, that day that he slipped in the rain and Yuuki caught him.

So, should the two of them be changed to belonging to the Kaikin Ward Area?

Well, you could have them be in Kaikin but have their hometown as Yamanaka, but otherwise yeah pretty much.

As for whether the characters themselves are accepted, however, you'll have to wait for Red Savant to pop up. :3

Let's see here, Nick... I'll need a bit more detail for both of them. What ancestry does Yuuki come from - English? What brings him and Motoharu to Kaikin from the more distant Yamanaka?

In a more general sense... I hate to put it so bluntly, but there's not much call for male characters in a Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica RP. Men aren't efficient, remember? I'm entirely willing to discuss them, but I am wondering why you picked men specifically for this series.

Argh, sorry! I had to check out a lot of tabs when I got home from being out for a few hours. She looks good to me - Sadao Shizuko is approved.

• Family Name: Inoue
• Given Name: Sachiko
• Location: Kaikin Ward, Kyoen City
• Age: 17
• Sex: Female
• Appearance: Sachiko's face has gentle features, giving her a kind appearance to go along with her smile. Green hair wavers around her face, extending past her shoulders a bit, and her eyes are a soft blue.
• Personality: Sachiko is a calm and reasoned girl who is able to smile no matter how rough the situation is. She's quite studious, but when she has the time for it, she can be very social. The real question is how much of this is really her and how much of it is a facade.
  • Backstory: An ordinary high school girl with ordinary high school pressures. Well, from the start, at least. At the onset of her senior year, she could feel that sort of pressure from her family to really study extra hard this year to get into a high quality medical school when high school was over. With studying, examinations, researching universities, and the like, Sachiko began to crumble underneath the stress a little. Then, when walking home one night, Sachiko's mind began to drift as she stumbled into the miasma of gathering Demons. Before she got a chance to hurt herself, a magical girl snapped her out of her daze and defeated the monsters before disappearing from Sachiko's sight. Realizing there were worse things out there than her studies gave Sachiko a new perspective... and made her unable to concentrate on her schoolwork. Enter Kyubey: with a single wish, Sachiko granted herself the strength to tackle any sort of problem, be they differentials or Demons.
    • Additional Note: I'd like it for Sachiko's savior to be a girl from one of the previous wards, post-retcon. Of course, if that doesn't work, I'll figure something out.

• Wish: "I want the strength to get through any obstacle."
• Wish derived special ability: Her personality was a product of her wish - no matter what chaos is thrown at her, Sachiko will still be able to calmly and rationally attempt to evaluate her current circumstances and form a plan of attack. While not a special ability per se, being able to keep a reasoned head is great for strategy.
• Weapon: Spears which she can hurl at great speeds to pierce through her enemies.
• Magical Girl Costume: Emerald armor over a flowing green dress.

Yay~! ...I'm still a bit sad that Loudead decide not to join this...
