Gladly. A simple Google search also supports it.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus....Aaaand you are totally off the mark and inventing your own reasons as to why to hate EA more. You'd best read some of the earlier posts, they'd actually explain a good deal of what the plan is with the new game.
But just in case you don't... The actual reason why they're just naming it just "Command & Conquer" is because Victory games is gradually planning to add in some of the original C&C factions and units into the game. The reason why you're seeing all Generals-related stuff is because that's the first universe they're going to create, and so far it's just going to be the European Union and GLA as factions. It might not be immediate, possibly even up to a year down the line and depending on whether the new Free-to-Play direction they're taking works out or not, but they are looking at bringing in a singleplayer campaign as well, provided the devs see enough popular demand for it, and eventually even major updates to include entire factions like GDI, Nod, the Soviets, etc. No word on what is going to require cash or premium creds yet, but they mentioned so far that all faction units, maps and abilities won't require money to unlock.
BTW, a lot of the fansite admins were recently invited to a summit at EALA, and you can actually see some small snippets of gameplay footage in the images and youtube video. It's not much, but you know it's a decent start if a lot of the veteran C&C fansites say it's looking promising!
Link Here (check the news bit on the C&C Community Summit)
Are EA going to be making the Tiberian Twilight thing non-canon?
...Sadly, no. They've mentioned that they have no interest in returning to the Tiberium universe aside from Tiberium Alliances, the F 2 P browser game. But that's a Gaiden Game, not even related to the main story or canonical. So it's going to be a LONG time before we see any "fixes" or remakes of C&C4, if ever.

Some more concrete details about the new game are finally coming out. Aside from a recent press barrage and short gameplay video and the confirmation that China will be coming back in the form of the APA (Asian-Pacific-Alliance), one of the lead devs also released this message:
I can’t state how excited everyone here at Victory Games is to have finally released more information and shown the gaming press our sneak peek of the game. We had great feedback from them (and from our community summit back in December) and are really looking forward opening up Command & Conquer to more people soon.
I want to highlight a few of the areas that we’re hearing great feedback on:
- Our #1 priority and focus is on building a fun, balanced C&C game with old-school RTS game-play: base building, harvesting, and massive armies.
- A varied set of Generals to play as, opening the door to many different strategies and a whole matrix of possibilities within each game mode and each match.
- We’ve officially announced the Asia Pacific Alliance as our 3rd faction, rounding out with the European Union faction and the return of the Global Liberation Army.
- The impressive visuals and physics based destruction from the Frostbite engine really enhance the overall intensity of the experience.
- New game modes such as the cooperative objective based Onslaught mode, where you partner to fend off waves of enemies, are really fun.
- Gameplay – mainly the Generals, as outlined below, all balanced against each other.
- Customization – the ability to further personalize your Generals and other aspects of the game with varied visuals and audio.
- Convenience – for those with less time, the option to assist in levelling up faster for more choices.
Generals are the most exciting part of this new game to me. You may remember how Generals worked in C&C Generals Zero Hour, back in 2003. It’s very similar thinking – each General has unique advantages, and are balanced with disadvantages against all of the other Generals. We will be continuously adding new Generals for each faction, each with a combination of unique units, player powers, and taunts. Different Generals are ideal for different strategical play styles. Whether your strategies are typically around base defense, stealth, rush, tank power, or other – there are many different Generals to learn to play as and against.
Here’s an example of what you might see from a General focused on Air Power. This General comes with 2 specific Air Units that replace or upgrade other Units within their Faction. However, as with any RTS, there are trade-offs when it comes to modifying the tech tree; given that this "Air General" is stronger in the air and more capable of fielding aircraft early in a match, they are weaker on the ground, lacking certain high tier vehicles or upgrades that would otherwise form a key part of their endgame strategy. Obviously, that is a relatively broad example, but we’re tuning and tweaking each General’s tech tree to make sure that they fit well within our overall game balance.
Beyond Unit and Upgrades, this "Air General" would also come with unique Player Powers, perhaps an Air Raid or similar large AOE direct-damage power that you can call in against an opponent. These "Generals Powers" are unlocked and upgraded throughout each match, increasing in power, effectiveness and even core functionality, and can be called upon to dramatically shift momentum during a heated battle.
Again, we are all very excited to build this game with the full feedback of our fans and our community, and want to reiterate that this is just the beginning. Being a live service, we have many years to continuously build upon and optimize the experience that we are bringing to you all.
If you haven’t already, you can register for the closed beta here.
Thanks to all of our fans and we look forward to seeing you in the game.

My impression: You need to pay to get the special generals and customization, but the basic sides are free.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntSo you have to be online at all times to actually play the game? Isn't that asking for the same massive screw-up that the recently-launched Sim City game got?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Yes. But it makes money and reduces piracy, so they won't stop doing it.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Hahahahahahahahahaha....no. That's a futile scheme and it only serves to piss off customers who might actually buy the game as opposed to pirate it.
The Sim City fiasco is proving exactly why their antics are dooming themselves. They do all this just to stop 6 or so people from getting it on Rapid Share at the cost of 6000 or so legitimate customers.
Well the success of games like Star Craft II, World of Tanks and a whole bunch of MM Os would say otherwise. Also this game is being built primarily around the multiplayer, which was always the Generals series greatest strength: therefore the idea of "Always Online DRM" isn't so bad in this case. Though admittely, it would be nice if the skirmish or tutorial were made available offline, both as a means of offline, unrecorded practice and passing time when the internet is down...
Also, to address one of the above posters: the gist of what Victory Games is saying so far is that you're only paying for exp boosts to level up faster and to unlock more generals to play as: no units, tech, or support powers (except those directly related to a specific General) will be locked or require grinding to obtain. The rest of the monetary costs will go into stuff similar to what League of Legends does: ex new skins, voiceovers, taunts, etc.
I think its silly because C&C games were also great single-player games, but then they lost the ability to make a good plot-no, scratch that, a good anything about C&C.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelA new gameplay trailer was released during E3 2013 . The biggest piece of news out of this one is that instead of there being just 3-4 generals per faction, it's now closer to almost a dozen each. Unfortunately, the scope of the abilities and units they grant are pretty small and pathetic compared to how much of a radical change the original ones made to their factions.
To give an example, the new GLA Salvage general who's nicknamed "Junker" only gets better rebel soldiers, Battle Buses (same unit from Zero Hour), and a support power that causes units in the affected area to temporarily break down or get de-buffed. Another general from China named "The Beast" gets riot troops, a teargas support power, and weirdly enough, the Gatling turret from the previous game (which probably means China - er, the APA doesn't have it available anymore for anybody else ). That's nowhere near the difference the Generals made for the factions in the previous game and in ZH.
Victory Games has also released a new press release for the game. Looks like they'll be releasing the beta soon this summer!

New trailer looks interesting. Seems like a natural evolution from Zero Hour. Though if what you say about having more generals but each of them having reduced uniqueness (quantity over quality in other words) is true then that's kinda disappointing.
Speaking of Zero Hour, has anyone seen the Infintry General challenge stage? I know some mods add the Demo general to the challenge, which imho was the hardest stage in all the generals challenge, and sometimes Ironside's challenge, but for some reason I have never seen the infintry challenge in all these years. If somene can link a youtube video to that stage I'd appreciate it.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2I found a video of his intro in NProject mod. A full match in Project Raptor mod is here.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Thank you for those links Marq.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2You know, this might be a strange question, but has anyone come across screenshots of the still images that appear in RA 2's pre-mission loading screens that show the geopolitical progress of the Soviet invasion and/or the Allied counter-invasion? I was lucky enough to find GIF images of the same for the original Red Alert here.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.^ In theory I can just extract the raws from the game itself. (I have XCC Tools.)
Really? I have no idea how to do that myself.
On a different RA 2 and RA 3 note... Why do official sources call Tanya's top a "sports bra"? It looks like a spaghetti-strap tank top to me — or do sports bras come in that form too?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.... Oh snit, I was about to do that.
So here: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/10/29/command-and-conquer-canceled-victory-studios-closed/
As you can see, it's not just the game being tanked, they wiped out the dev team too.
So there won't even be a single player game coming out on the horizon?
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.
Can you cite your sources please?
