Dude, how terrible is Michael Bein in this, though? Does he sound drunk to anyone else?
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Nah, sounds like he smoked one cigarette pack too many or something.
Upon closer inspection, I'm definately seeing why they're still keeping the "3" in the title. For one, every enemy type encountered in the demo so far was based on the tactics and variants you'd enounter in the original game. You've got the typical gunmen, the pyromaniac, the heavy trooper, the shotgunner who charges you, and the vehicles all seem to be still the same, just with a different voiceover and textures. Even the gameplay mechanics are largely unchanged, just given a different, more humourous context.
It's a bit discouraging that they didn't take the concept further, maybe even make some use out Rex's bionic arm, but perhaps that'll happen when you level up further. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
Sergeant Rex Power Colt. A true American hero. Also, a helicopter ride with Long Tall Sally playing? Where have I seen that before?

EDIT:As for "all the vehicles being the same", there's a reason the subtitle is Blood Dragon...

EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESNo, I meant EVERYTHING is actually the same. The mooks, the moveset, the game mechanics, everything. They just changed the look and plot of it all. Granted, it's certainly a good choice for a change of scenery and some laughs, but I'm getting the feeling that Ubisoft isn't going to do very much with the fact that our protagonist is a cyborg.
BTW, the way you mentioned "Blood Dragon" has me wondering. Is there some sort of hidden meaning behind it? Like a phrase, quote, or old-school reference that I'm missing here?
Nicknacks. Holy crap that evil avatar. I remember that episode.
Who watches the watchmen?Ah, a man after my own soft centre.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I do want to know what sort of liquor is behind the creation of Blood Dragon. Cause I want some.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Blood Dragon likely wasn't liquor induced. Something that rhymes with rooms was likely involved.
Who watches the watchmen?I assumed they'd just been inhaling '80s Air.
...No. That is modern garbage.
Who watches the watchmen?@Sgt Ricko, I'd rather not spoil it for you. But like I said, Blood Dragons are rad, man.
EDIT: Also, a dedicated middle finger button is in the game. Why? Because.

EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESWhat weapons do you guys generally run around with? I started a second file recently (only about to meet Citra) and I use the MS 16 and SVD (both silenced) for general work, the bow (for fire arrows) and I'm not sure what to put into the fourth slot. Any suggestions to keep things interesting?
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Once I got the Shredder (custom Vector SMG) I never let go of it. The Bushman is also pretty awesome, but you don't get it until much later in the game. I haven't started a new game, so I'm running around with top tier weapons like the Shredder, Bushman, the suppressed top tier sniper rifle and maybe a grenade launcher for pyrotechnics.
I decided not to use any of the signature weapons, they make it too easy.
Also, good god, the death from above is so satisfying.

I played nearly the whole game with my composite bow.
Shit was great.
I went through maybe 80% of the game before realizing that I could buy sights for the bow. I felt pretty dumb afterwards.
So, Blood Dragon is out now for PS 3 and will come out tomorrow for everything else (ie. 360 and PC). There's still a chance to preorder it and get the Blood Dragon soundtrack free. Total Biscuit and Giant Bomb already have videos on the game on their respective sites.
As for me, I'll be getting it sometime after I get around to finishing Vanilla Far Cry 3.
Been playing through Blood Dragon and its fucking amazing. I've liberated about 66% of the outposts and done their associated sidequests (which seem to be limited to kill guys and protect a hostage and hunt animals/soldiers with a specific weapon) and the first third of the main story. Rex puts Jason to absolute shame, and you rapidly level up to the point that even heavies don't have a prayer against you one on one. Soundtrack is great, visuals are great and the level design is not only awesome but a marked improvement over the base game (outposts have multiple access points and floors). Buy it. Now.
One hint: vehicles seem to have been hardened so until you get explosive or laser ammo use your grenades.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I'm a lot more interested in Blood Dragon than I was vanilla FC 3 despite being a fan of the previous game. Can't wait to grab it.
Blood Dragon is the funniest game I've played in a long time. AND its awesome.
A You Tube comment said it best: This is what Duke Nukem Forever should have been.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. So I beat the game and got all the collectibles in about 6 hours, and the amount of count and the quality of the experience meant that it was 15 dollars well spent. Overall I would give the game a 9.5/10, its hilarious, knows ''exactly' what it is and isn't afraid to make fun of itself, and still manages to build on the original game's mechanics and level design. My only complaints are that the sidequests aren't varied enough, and that a few parts near the end (namely the arena against the zombies and the fact that Sloan was a cutscene boss) could have been better. But that's nitpicking compared to the good parts of the game.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I got the explosive ammo for the sniper rifle. It is now my favorite gun ever.
Why yes, that is Michael Biehn!
Also, that loading screen snark has to be the best ever.
Also love "Press A to Demonstrate Your Capacity to Read."
