Recently the page picture and the caption for Beam Spam was changed from this

Taste the rainbow, bitch.

to this.

Did I get 'em?

To voice my personal opinion, I like the formal one better because:

  • There is actually a more beams in the screen.
  • They seem to be more focused in single direction so they look more spammy.
  • It's prettier to look at and I also like the caption.

I had a minor dispute over this change and what do you guys think? Is the change better or the picture should stay the same?

Honestly, I don't much care for either.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

Current page image has more beams than either of those two and a bonus explosion.

[up] I'm not big on that one either. They don't look like beam attacks, they just look like glowing lines. Like a Battle Aura or something.

I prefer the first one. I mistook the second one as a sort of disco ball at first glance, and Shima's proposed third pic has the beams looking like glowing energy wings of the character, not beams.

Like the first one more. The second one doesn't look like beams.

I'm ok with Mari's or Raso's first one. The second one lacks. Beams. No idea what's happening in Awe's.

The second one has white beams apparently. So it's not that it doesn't have them, it's just that they're indistinguishable from the guns.

I prefer Marikina's because the Macross Missile Massacre effect makes it more clear that the beams are being used as an attack and not as some kind of light show.

Yeah. They're all spraying from a single point.

Or swarming on that point.

Either way, it's clearly an attack.

[up] Hmm, my complaint with that one is that there's those metal things at the ends of the beams that make them look like they could be projectiles leaving behind visual trails.

Those are the cannons that are firing the beams.

Right? Never seen the scene in question outside that picture, but that's what it looks like to me.

There aren't any beams in the second picture here. Yet. The guns are about to fire them in about half a second. I think a shot a moment later might work.
