True, but can't kill Hobbes with it. In Fable I you got to choose between two ultra powerful weapons. You weren't punished for being good or evil you were rewarded.
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-Ansemthe ageing in 1 really bothered me.
by the time i met my sister i was quite a bit older than her. by the time i reached my mother i was significantly older than her.
aging is a nice concept n all, but tied to leveling? what the fuck?
oh and the npc reactions. they were the most annoying thing as a hero. not only were they loud obnoxious and annoying, they tended to block your path... while i was trying to grind money off the table golf minigame i had so much trouble getting in and out of that inn because nearly the entire town was inside swarming around me.
One thing I hated was how there was barely any loot in 2 and absolutely none in 3. It was essentianly an action game. Fable shouldn't even be considered RPG any more.
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-AnsemThere's also the problem of the time progression. The setting in III is way too modern for a series that started out with fantasy elements. They didn't even try to combine the fantasy with the technology in any meaningful way, and it looks like they only even used the setting in III to cash in on the popularity of Steampunk.
And they managed to fail at that as well. The only things that are really steampunk are the monorail, which only exists for 30 seconds before being destroyed, and the robot suit, which is just a DLC package with no background. I'm not taking any DLC quests into account because I didn't buy them and because they're not part of the regular game.

cumMedieval -> Renaissance-> Industrial Revolution
3's setting is fine for me. Better then 2's IMO, which was pretty bland. Not sure where 4's setting will head.

Vertigo Fable skipped.forward 200 years and removed a lot of important factors in Fable I like the hero's guild.
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-Ansemwhich still makes no sense to me.
if a guild teaches kids how to kill things, and then doesnt try to teach them to be good, but instead encourages doing whatever they feel they should (evil or no), then not only does it not really qualify as a hero guild, but it seems like something that a mob would attack pretty often.

I gotta agree with Tarsen, the Guild never made sense to me. It taught you to be superhuman, but then encourages you to use your power however you see fit. It offered the same rewards for protecting a village from a bandit rave as it did for joining the raiders, clearly displaying a lack of respect for the common person.
Why should the people have tolerated a group of callous Smug Supers calling themselves "heroes"? I know that I wouldn't stomach these guys after guns were invented.
"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, GodfellasActually there is an in-story reason for that: the Guild originally was made to train the righteous. Over time however it devolved into a glorified mercenary training academy. So yeah, it was a Heroe's Guild till it became one In Name Only.
#IceBearForPresidentWell a hero to one may be a villain to others. some think obama is a cool guy, others are just whatever, and some view him as the scum of humanity.
Obama never slaughtered a village with a bunch of bandits...
or did he?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Never played Fable. Did Molyneaux have anything to do with Syndicate Wars?
Idk,but I know he has some thing to do with flamewars.
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-AnsemSeems like he did. Producer credit anyways. I take back everything I ever said about him, that game was nails.
Oh really! What happened Peter!?!?
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-AnsemI think he fell victim to Romero Syndrome. Named after the pioneer of shooters, John Romero. Look up Daikatana for details on that one, 8-0
i hate to say it, but it might be time to bury Fable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgFable 4: Peter Molyneux's about to make you his bitch.
The bits of it they showed left much to be desired.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? The series has a LOT of potential, but it's just being squandered on games with minimal effort and maximum hype.
cumLet me put it these ways:
1) I was promised wings in Fable 3. I got them for all of one thing right at the end of the game then never fucking saw them again.
2) I downloaded a demo for a game I have no clue what the name is, and it is a better fable game than fable 3. If anyone's wondering, it's on the PSN and it's some very fancy Western RPG name. I'll put the name down here if someone P Ms me later with a reminder, because I've only played a bit of it, but I enjoy it much better.

I dunno... the statue was rather... touching, in my opinion.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.
