-Ferno hears Fool, then glancing over at him while continuing his pursuit of Pleo.-

Ferno: <...What? What does that mean?> -Shakes his head.- <Look, just get lost, or I'll burn you!>

Mira: <I believe my daughter is correct. You have all been deceived.>

Silvermist: (winks at Hydron) <Well, hi there. You seem like a pretty nice guy.>

Articuno: <So... Now what? Pleo and the Orange Islands are still in danger!>

Moltres: (nods) <Yeah... We should probably do something about that...> (looks over at the Deltas) <You three interested in helping us?>

Rex: *leaps on Spathi's back* Spathi, take flight; Minty, keep up Protect as long as you can!

Minty: *nods, his shield flickering ever so slightly*

Delta!Magmortar: *charges his right arm cannon, shooting a large ice crystal at Spathi*

Spathi: *dives under the frost blast, retaliating with a Flamethrower*

Rascal: *adds his onto it*

Delta!Skarmory: *squawks and dodges left this time* <Enough with the fire!> *sends a pulse of electricity along Magmortar's right arm*

Delta!Magmortar: *unleashes more frost from his arm, creating a drill-like shape; the electricity courses along his arm, crackling around the drill* <How about this!> *smacks Spathi with the ice when he gets too close*

Minty: *his shield breaks* <Waaah!>

Spathi: *roars in pain*

Delta!Magmortar: <Hehe, here's one for the road!> *launches the electrified ice spear at Spathi and co.*

-Is heading towards wherever the battle against Lugia is occuring-

Thorn: <What? He...Lied to us? Holly? Can you believe this?>

Holly: -Sighs.- <I've known for a while, Thorn.>

Thorn: <Wha...WHAT!? Then...Why didn't you say anything?>

Holly: <Because if I did...We wouldn't get to be in a group anymore. And even though we were being a mad Charizard with dreams of conquering the world...I was just glad to be a part of something rather than an outcast...You know how that feels, don't you?>

Thorn: -Nods.- <I do...We all do.> -To DS.- <Sure, we'll help you.> -To Holly.- <Right?>

Holly: -Nods.- <Right.>

Hydron: <Heh. Do you think maybe me and you could...you know, go for a swim some time? Just the two of us?>

Holly: <...Could you fix him for us? Please?>

-Ferno roars in pain as Fool whacks him with her frying pan, the Charizard's flight faltering before managing to correct himself.-

Ferno: -Growls.- <You...are going to pay for that!>

-Ferno takes a deep breath, then launches a huge star shaped flame at Fool.-

Ferno: BURN!!!

Shamouti Airspace

Maren: !!!

-Maren covers Kaepora and Fool in a Barrier, protecting them form Ferno's flame-

Maren: <I don't like meanies! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT HAPPENS TO MEANIES!>

- Recalls Artemis, Mira and Ribbons, climbing onto Latias and putting Odette and Tulip onto my lap -

Articuno: (to the Deltas) <You three need a ride?>

Moltres: <Or do you think you can keep up with us on your own? The three of us are not exactly very comfortable to ride on...>

Zapdos: <Hmm...> (trying to work out who could ride with which bird without it being too uncomfortable for them)

-After being dug out of the cave, we Fly back to Shamouti-

Fire Island

Hydron: -Looks confused as the effect of attract wears off.- <...Huh? What happened? Why do I feel a sense of loss?>

Thorn: -Rubs a chin with his vine, thoughtfully.- <I have an idea.>

A minute later...

Holly: <This is ridiculous!>

Holly is carrying Thorn on his back, who is carrying Hydros underneath Holly as she hovers in mid air.-

Thorn: <Well, it was either that, or me and Hydron ride the birds. Something I'm not so keen on. No offense.>

Holly: -Sighs.- <Fine...Let's just worry about stopping Ferno before he destroys the world, or worse: ends up taking it over!>

Hydron: <You need to get your priorities straight...>

Thorn: <...Yes, we should get going. Come on!>

-Holly rockets away, soon reaching a high speed as she flies towards the Shamouti shrine.-

Hydron: -Holds his arms out.- <WHEEEEE! I'M FLYING!>

Shamouti Airspace

-Ferno barrel rolls out of the way, easily dodging the Thunder attack.-

Ferno: <I really don't have time for this! Now SHOO!>

-Ferno breaths a jet of fire at Fool, Maren and their Tropius steed.-

All right, let's go!

- Latias takes off, followed by the legendary birds -

Wow, seems I'm going to make an epic entrance riding a legendary Pokémon accompanied by three other legendary Pokémon two story arcs in a row! What are the odds?

Tulip: <Haha! I bet Artemis will be satisfied now, yes!>

Odette: (to Tulip) <Think the three birdies would be interested in teaching me to fly when we've defeated big bad fire dragon?>

Desert

-I arrive at what appears to be a junction on the road (or what's left of it). Dintel climbs to my head and Ichtacya wanders around in all directions while I think where would we go next-

— This is weird... I guess I should just continue to the East, but...

-Suddenly Dintel pulls my hair-

Dintel — <Hey! Somemon is coming that way! It's... big!>

— What?

-The three of us turn to the south, from where a large mass of... something, seems to be moving in our direction, releasing sparks all around-

Delta Grimer? No... too gray...

Ichtacya — <Hey, it seems to be...> — squints — <Magnemites?>

-Verily, a there's a large cluster of Magnemite coming from the south, led by a carriage and a man on top, and what appears to be an electric Pokémon leading them.-

— That's an interesting sight...

Ichtacya — <...Hey!> — sniffs — <That's...! Yay! :3>

-without more words, Ichtacya bursts with energy and runs towards the caravan to meet the stranger mon, who at a shorter distance I can distinguish enough to realize it is a Jolteon-

Ichtacya -runs around the Jolteon- — <♥!>

Jolteon -tilts head and follows her, surprised- — <♥~>

-They go play around-

-Meanwhile, I wave a sign to the man on the carriage and get closer to them, noticing the twenty to thirty Magnemite that have gone follow Ichtacya and the Jolteon (well, more likely the Jolteon)-

— What brings you around here, traveller?

Man: — Greetings, there. I am merely a Magnemite farmer.

-The man explains to me his job, that is, farming Magnemite during thunderstorms and then herding them to carry their power to the nearby cities and towns-

— But there haven't been storms around here since, well, the weird one yesterday, although that was mostly rain.

Man: — I know, well... I decided to venture in something a bit different. — touches his hat and points to his wagon — I'm transporting some supplies and random stuff to Trovitopolis, you see... My name is Ethan, and I live at the southern town.

— Supplies and stuff... a very charitable endeavour. But where are my manners? — I produce my card — Call me Silent, I'm a researcher on vacation. Nice to meet you, Ethan.

Ethan: — Wait... — blinks — So you are Silent? Man, I just got lucky. — produces a package — I volunteered to deliver this to the Trovitopolis Pokémon center... it was mistakenly sent to the Pokémon Center at the other side of the island.

— Really? What is it?

Man: — Dunno, but it has your name... The guys back there were wondering what kind of person has "Silent" for a name.

-shrugs-

— You haven't seen a thing, I can assure you.

-The man hands the package to me, and I check it carefully. It has a label from the Orange Islands Scientific Committee-

Ethan: — It's a strange box that can't be delivered by teleportation, so I'm moving it. Can you say what does it have?

— Perhaps...

-I proceed to open the box. It has a [golden Pokéball with a sort of "G·S" inscription inside, and a [handwritten note]-

-Silent has found a GS BALL!-

....?

-Ethan leans in and examines the Pokéball-

Ethan: — That's weird. It looks pretty expensive, or something... Why wouldn't they be able to transport a Pokéball by the transport system?

— Wish I could answer that...

-I examine the note. It's handwritten, has Ivy's signature, and says that it's a "reminder" so that I have an excuse to go back to Valencia Island sometime. Soon. Like, next weekend, as the note says-

*sigh* Strange choice of a gift. I mean why wo- hey... hey... hey... How the heck did she manage to track me here?

-I look around us, but there's only the Magnemite, the desert, us. For some reason that doesn't make me feel better-

Perhaps because of the Gym Battle, but how would she know...?

Man: — ...Anything wrong, Mr. Silent?

— No, it's all fine. — I save the note and shake Ethan's hand — Thanks for the service, Mr. Ethan. I'll see to retribute you once I reach the towns by the east.

-Mr. Ethan and I trade Pokégear numbers-

-After some more talk, Ethan and his Magnemite herd are gone. Ichtacya gives wistful looks at the horizon while growling the Jolteon's name a couple of times, then frolicks back to my side. We keep walking to the next town for a couple of minutes-

— Hmmm... — examines the Pokéball. — What do I do with this? Surely ivy doesn't expect me to go return it in person.... right?

Dintel -pokes my head — <...What is it?>

Ichtacya — <Well it looks like a Pokéball...>

Dintel — <But what does it have inside?> — pulls my hair.

— I don't know yet, Dintel. Let's see...

-I try to examine the Pokéball with my PEFEdex, without success. Then I open it, to reveal it is empty... except for a petal of a flower stuck inside-

...? This gets even stranger by the minute...

-I take the white-and-blue petal and examine it for a moment. I don't recognize it, but it looks like it could be native to the Orange Islands-

-to Dintel and Ichtacya-

— Anywhere you could have seen this flower?

-they both shake their heads-

— Darn... I guess I'll examine this after we get to the town. For now let's just keep moving.

-We head to the nearest town-

-I spot Holly, Thorn, and Hydron flying-

Oh, aren't they some of those Deltas with Ferno?

Chloro:<I believe so.>

-I also spot DS and the Legendaries-

Oh, DS is up here too.

-We speed up to catch up to them-

Spathi: *hit by the ice drill, which shatters on impact; spins out of control, spiraling towards the ground*

Delta!Magmortar: <Hah! I got him!>

Rex: Not quite!

Lian: *leaps into the air and grabs Spathi's tail*

Spathi: <Ow! That's sensitive, y'know!?>

Lian: <Sorry!> *flips onto his back and leaps for the Deltas*

Delta!Skarmory: <Oh no you don't!> *charges a Thunder attack in its feathers*

Lian: <Get 'em, Minty!>

Minty: *leaps from Lian's back* <Yah!> *sprays String Shot in the Skarmory's eyes*

Delta!Skarmory: *screeches and drops the Magmortar* <I'm blind!>

Lian: *grabs ahold of his wings and kicks off of his stomach; rights herself and fires an Aura Sphere, dead center in his chest*

Delta!Skarmory: *is knocked to the ground where Rascal and Ohm are waiting*

Rascal: <Hi.> *tackles him with Flame Charge*

Ohm: <No one hurts my friends!> *lands a Fire Punch*

Delta!Skarmory: <Urk!> *faints*

Spathi: *manages to right himself and land on the ground* <Whew...>

Delta!Magmortar: *lands on his feet; shakes himself off and glares*

Rex: Ack! Spathi, move!

Spathi: *dizzy* <Just...gimme a second...>

Delta!Magmortar: *charges his right arm cannon for a powerful ice blast*

Rex: *cringes*

Giant Boulder: *lands on Magmortar*

Jemma: <Mya. :3> *on top of the boulder* <No one messes with my property.>

-Maren uses Protect again-

Maren: <Grr>

-Maren rumages through her Pockets (???) and pulls out a Zoom Lens—

Maren: -Holding the Zoom Lens in front of her eye <Let's see how you evade THIS time!>

-Maren fires another Thunder at Ferno-

-Ends up sitting near the shrine at the top of the island-

Shamouti Airspace

-The boosted accuracy provided by the Wide Lens is just enough to keep Ferno from dodging the Thunder attack.-

Ferno: <Ha! It'll take more than that to stop a Dragon type like-AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!>

Holly: <FERNO!>

-Holly comes to a hover near Ferno, Thorn keeping hold as Hydron dangles below.-

Hydron: <Urk! I don't feel so safe all of a sudden...>

Ferno: <What?! What's the big idea-> -Notices all the legendaries DS has with her.- <...Eep.>

Thorn: <We've gone along with your plan for long enough, Ferno!>

Hydron: -Aims his cannons at him.- <This ends right here. Right now.>

Coast North of Shamouti Island

-A group of Deltas make it to the coast and start spreading around-

"Gyarazel" (Floatzelδ): — <Come on, peoplemons! Move, move, move!> — waves arm ahead, at the direction of the Pokémon Center — <We have to reach the settlement as soon as we can!>

-Hordes of Delta Pokémon start marching and flying ahead, separating in three groups. The Floatzel waves a goodbye to another nearby Pokémon, propels himself to the air via a supercharged Water Gun, and then flies ahead slowly by spinning his tails-

Rock/Steel Shuckleδ — <Heh, always that eager for battle. What's me, I can take it slowly.> — to the Donphanδ she is riding — <March ahead! Let's curbstomp all opposition!>

-The Donphan moves ahead, followed by the second group of Delta Pokémon-

-The third group, and the smallest in size, remains stationed at the beach for a moment-

Monfernoδ -moves to where their leader is — <Er... Sir? We're ready to move at your call...>

-The figure of a Shedinja appears-

Bug/Steel Shedinjaδ — <Yes, yes... but we have time, and... you see, let's leave the others a chance to have their own fun.>

Monfernoδ — <...Fun? But what about...>

Shedinjaδ — <Let them have that battle. Perhaps we are lucky and we are called in to subdue the God! We'll be able to make it there faster than the others... kekekekeke....>

-The Shedinja's group merely watches as the other two groups move ahead, in the meanwhile they relax, hone claws, eat a little and talk about how awesome will life be when everymon respects a Delta-

-At a rock formation not far from there, the air starts bubbling faintly-

Maren: <Snrk! I'll leave yah to it! But before we leave...>

Maren: <Arrivederci!~>

-Fool, Keapora and Maren fly off in the diretion of Shamouti Shinre-

<Courtney: "Mmm hmm hmm... That's right... It's because you were going... And I didn't want to be stuck with that annoying flying lizard and that bodybuilder... I wonder how they're doing anyways...">

Tom: "He said that he had business to attend to."

Suzan: "In this weather? He's nuts!"

-Clinging tightly to Moe's pant leg-

<Zoltan: "... I'm s-scared... A-Are we going to be okay?">

<Pascal: "I'm sure it'll all work out, little dude... At least... I hope it does...">

<Buggy: "What's the matter, deg- Er... Dragon? Got smacked upside the head recently or something?">

<Thog: "Urgh... This whole 'being underpowered' thing is getting really annoying...">

<Vesta: "Well... It all takes time... Eventually you'll become stronger... But if you keep longing for strength, will you ever be satisfied?">

<Thog: "I suppose not...">

<Nibbler: "There's others here... Who are they?">

<Delta!Ledian: "Urgh... Salamence burn victim speaking...">

<Delta!Fraxure: "Oh... Um... Er... I... I m-mean...">

<Vesta: "Don't be so shy, you're safe(-ish) here...">

<Delta!Fraxure: "Th-The h-humans a-aren't g-going to s-send me to a l-lab again?">

<Buggy: "Nope! They're going to vivisect you in public!">

<Delta!Fraxure: "V-Vivi... Wh-What does th-that mean?">

<Delta!Ledian: "Are you trying to make him pass out or something?">

<Buggy: "Noooo... I'm being completely honest! Why on earth would I joke about humans cutting your friend up alive?">

<Delta!Fraxure: " WH-WHAT?! ">

-Starting to cry-

<Delta!Fraxure: "(*sniffle*) Oh... Oh Arceus... Pl-Please... N-Not like this...">

<Buggy: "Their cold surgical instruments tearing their way through your hide and fle- OW! ">

-Is bitten by Nibbler-

<Nibbler: "Will you shut it?!">

-Delta!Fraxure is still shuddering and crying-

<Vesta: "That's really classy, Buggy... I don't think that you'd have to worry about that... The humans that we travel with wouldn't dream of doing something like that to you...">

<Delta!Fraxure: "(*sniffle*) Th-They w-wouldn't? B-But... All a-anyone s-sees us as i-is as d-dangerous f-freaks...">

<Buggy: "Well gee, you abducted the child of a god, what did you ex- OW!">

-Is slugged hard by Thog-

<Thog: "Would you be quiet?! I'm trying to remember a poem here!">

<Vesta: "Well... Do you think that the humans with us would have taken you here if they thought the same?">

<Delta!Ledian: "Oh whoop-de-do, they're four humans. And you're just a couple dozen Pokemon. And I'll bet that you all can't wait to be rid of us as soon as possible...">

<Buggy: "Well gee, with that attitude...">

<Vesta: "Do I need to smack you too, Buggy?">

<Buggy: "... No, I'm good...">

<Vesta: "Have a little faith. As awful as I'm sure that some of your experiences have been, the whole world isn't like that...">

<Delta!Ledian: "Yeah, then why haven't I seen anything of this other part?">
