Xatu (gasping in pain) — <This is the most I can get... the rest... the Blue... must...>

-The Arcanine comes in running, worried-

???? — <Are you OK? What happened?>

Xatu — <Get me out of here... mind... can't take any more...> — faints.

-The Arcanine picks the Xatu and shakes him up, but it won't awaken. Sounds of people running up the stairs can be heard, so the Arcanine decides that the only way down is the fast way down-

Sages — This way! There's something on top...!

???? — <Geez... I'll have to... I know!>

-Arcanine runs to the edge of the altar, looks down and with a weak leap clings to the wall with his paws. Then, he carefully casts a Flame Wheel and lets himself slide down the gigantic structure.-

Secretary — Not even the assistant researchers are there...

Student C — Strange... the assistants were at the dinner last night. Except for Mr Timbú, who arrived late. And, well, Prof. Silent didn't come.

Student B — Yeah. No one mentioned anything.

Student C (thinks) — What about the phone? Isn't his phone responding, either? The signal can reach to the Nidoran colony...

Secretary — ... — puts up the speaker.

Answering Machine — Hi. You've reached Prof. Silent Reverence. At the moment I'm busy with field research absolutely inocuous to the city and I don't know when I'll have a connection at hand." (short silence) "Just stay on the line and you will be redirected to PEFE's research switchboard shortly. We'll get back to you... (Route 35 jingle plays)

-Secretary hangs the phone-

Students — ...

-Meanwhile, I emerge from an underground tunnel out of the city, with Venomoth and Mangemite helping me push a cart. In a clear in the forest, some guards are waiting-

Magnemite — <We're here!> — buzzes a sound similar to "Do-De-Dooo~!"

Nidorino Guard Leader — <He's here!> — growls — <Sure he brings the covers!>

Other Nidorino — <Let's go see!> — leaps forward.

Third Nidorino (stays behind on lookout) — <When will he bring toys for the kits again..?>

Next year, if I'm lucky. For some reason PEFE isn't shipping me more of those Hoennese toys any longer...

-I say hi to the Nidos around and after returning Magnemite and Venomoth to their Pokéballs, open the container and produce a sample of its contents: parts of Nidorino-shaped armour and covers for their torsos and legs-

— How's it? Here... — ducks besides the leader and carefully equips him with a torso cover — This one is resilent to electricity and fire. There, go show the others...

Nidorino Leader — <Wow... cool!> — walks around, turns and rolls on the ground — <It's a bit heavy but I can get used to it...>

— Well... we have to paint them, otherwise you'll all look like Lairons...

-The Nidorino looks at me quizically (perhaps he doesn't know what a Lairon is), then he growls a thanks, runs to the others, they chat a little and then the leader goes away to showcase the armor-

Other guards — <Here, we can help move the cart, too!>

— That's right, uh.... er... I mean, You guys help me carry this thing to the east side.

In a hidden forest clear with some berry trees, Route 42...

-The Xatu, recovered, helps the Arcanine fastening a belt-

Xatu — <...And that's where you have to go. Bring News Back as soon as you can.>

???? — <Won't take long...> — drops ears — <What about you?>

Xatu — <I'll fly south. I think I can still do it.> — tilts head — <I got a glimpse of the creature I have to find. Strangely it is a Feraligator though... despite the revelations of future showed a Typhlosion.>

???? — <Maybe you got some things wrong... or you have gotten sick...>

Xatu — <I reached the pinnacle of my capabilities. As weird and unstable as the images were, they are still well-connected. A Feraligator I must find.>

-The Arcanine thinks for a moment-

???? — <You sure you'll find the right one?>

Xatu — <Yes. How hard can it be? But you... you have to go there and find out... Don't fail in this.>

???? — <Right...> — turns to the Xatu — <Good luck.>

Xatu — <What for? Knowledge is all I need.>

-The Arcanine nods, and then disappears in a Quick Attack. After eating some berries, the Xatu manages to fly to the south with great effort...-

Gone for the rest of the day

Whirl: (To the Yamask) <I am not aware of the password. I am merely here to inform you that a group consisting of a Braviary, Grovyle, Ampharos, Lucario, Honchkrow, and Blaziken appear to be outside the doors.> -The Whirl makes a quick exiT, passing The Uni Te's group on The way-

Unite: <...And then I said "Oatmeal? Are you crazy?!">

-Upon hearing the password, Tree, Flare, Harriet and Wulfric all exchange weird glances. Woolly, however, cannot help but chuckle quietly to herself.-

- The two Yamask open the door, letting them in -

Yamask 2: <Oh, Braviary! Welcome back!>

- Chase hops by in the background, noticing Unite -

Chase: <Ah, you're back.> (hops over) <How did your patrol go?> (Notices Woolly, Wulfric, Treeo, Harriet and Flare) <... And who are they?>

Shadow: <Captain, commander, I am regretful to announce that I have lost contact with the most recent patrol sent to the Pinwheel Forest.>

-sigh- Again?

Felis: <After what you've seen of Sol, this surprises you? It seems she really can't be trusted with anything.>

Get the lieutenants in here. I think I need to make things clearer to them.

Shadow: <At once, commander.>

-Shadow heads down the elevator-

-Sunny turns his head toward Unite as he enters the resistance HQ-

Sunny: <It's the bird!>

Iron Marrow, plates aren't for carrying food, they're for eating in.

Garchomp: <Not in this timeline, I've been woken up before, though it was by the Cubone instead of by Cobalt.>

-Hears Sonny-

<Some of the things we've done, even before this, defy belief.>

Unite: <Hello Chas- I mean, Unfezant.>

-Unite salutes Chase with his wing.-

Woolly: <Chase? What's he doing here?>

Unite: <My patrol didn't go as smoothly as expected. I found Scolipede's forces harassing this group of Pokemon on Route 6 near the space tunnel in the side of Mt. Ying. Thankfully, I was able to assist them in driving them away. Unfortunately...Barb was there.>

Flare: <Wasn't he that evil Beedril that nearly killed Woolly?>

Woolly: -Nods.- <Yep. That was him...>

-Woolly shivers slightly at the memory. The image of Barb threatening to kill her was not one she would be forgetting in a hurry.-

Unite: <Considering his high rank in Scolipede's army, it's very likely that this group has been pegged as wanted criminals. I would like to request that we let them stay here for a while until we can figure out some more permanent arrangements.>

Chase: (nods) <Of course. I'm sure our leader will be okay with that.>

Goggles: (appears out of no where) <Yeah! I'm okay with that!>

Chase: <Ah!> (jumps back in surprise) <Oh, leader... You're sure good at sneaking up on people.>

Goggles: <Thanks!>

Woolly: <Goggles?!>

Flare: <What?! He's the leader?!>

Wulfric: <Whoa.>

Treeo: <Heh. Didn't see that coming.>

Harriet: <Same here.>

Unite: <Oh! Googl- I mean, our leader!> -Salutes.- <I am so glad that you are willing to let these Pokémon stay here!>

Woolly: <Yeah. Thank you, Goo- I mean...Um...Mister Krookodile? Yes. Thank you, Mister Krookodile!>

-The rest of the team exchange odd looks again, then also give their thanks.-

Unite: <Now. Unfezant, Leader. While I was on Patrol, I also happened to come across some vital intel on the possible wear-abouts of the Tao Dragons...>

Probably, as long as you don't bring too much attention to yourself.

Hydreigon: -Happens to be eating nearby- <Something seems familiar about those guys, but I can't place it.>

-Wait a minute, The Tao Dragons? Woolly remembered that was a term used to describe both Reshiram and Zekrom. So Unite was looking for the Dragons, then? And where had he gotten all of that new intel...

...Oh. Right.-

Unite: <From what my intel, as well as my sources, tell me..>

-Unite briefly glances at Woolly. The Ampharos can't help but blush slightly.-

Unite: <...I believe that the most likely places to look for any sign of the tao duo would be the Relic Castle in the Resort Desert, the Abysall Ruins in the Undella Bay, and the Dragon Spiral Tower near the Moor of Icirrus. I would like to request that we mount expeditions to these locations in hopes of finding the Dragons.>

Sunny: <Pardon my interruption, but there's no way you'd ever make it through Undella Town alive. Liepard and Scolipede have it completely under their control.>

Chase: <Ah, excellent. We will get to work on organizing some teams to send to those locations.> (looks over at Sunny) <Hmm? Oh, is that so?>

Unite: <Oh, really? Hmm...I always knew there was something going on there. Maybe we could go in via the ocean? I doubt they would look for us if we dived from Route 14.>

Sunny: <And how do you plan on reaching Route 14, hmm? Black City is under their control as well. That's where the Black Guard's headquarters is stationed. I know this. I was an officer in their army once. That's why I'm as good as dead if they ever find me.>
