Dune: Because "easy" doesn't mean "simple".

Gui: Well, yeah, sure! When?

Deziree: Anytime, really. Tomorrow or the day after would be great!

*BZZZ!*

-Dune and Deziree blink as their phones both go off at the exact same time.-

Iri Manor

Eskay: So... about that gym challenge...

Sarah: You continue it. I... don't think I'll have as strong a bond with the team as you will.

Eskay: Are you sure? If we're really as similar as we're supposed to be, I'd think you'd want to work out something.

Sarah: Well, yeah, but...

-She sighs, staring up at the ceiling-

Sarah: You're the one with the link. Spectrum should be your partner, not ours. She was given her gift because of the Heart of Gold she was meant to meet. That's you now, and not me. Even we sometimes take for granted what we have until we don't have it anymore.

Eskay: ...Fair enough...

-They go quiet for a few moments, thinking.-

Eskay: ...You could live that old idea we had when we first met Jazz.

Sarah: I'm just gonna have to get used to this whole "thinking the same thing" deal, aren't I?

Eskay: So that's a yes, then.

Sarah: Yeah... I didn't think it would actually happen, since we already had Skye, but if Jazz is up to it, being a Poison-type trainer actually just might be a decent idea.

Eskay: Yeah... But let's talk it over more in the morning.

Sarah: Right... g'night, er, Eskay.

Eskay: G'night, Sarah.

-...-

Both: It is so weird to say that to myself...

Male Meowstic: (ears twitch slightly) <Hmm... I have the strangest feeling that somewhere, someone may somehow have stumbled upon a way to grant Ray's wish...>

Female Meowstic: <So, you think we may have a solution to that problem soon?>

Male Meowstic: <... Maybe not in the nearest future, but if I'm right, then someday, maybe.>

Linnéa: (is currently asleep) Zzz... Mmm, ice cream... zzz...

Petalburg City, middle of the night

-Savannah has a nightmare of being trapped in total darkness again. This time, there are voices, all somehow familiar to her, but she can't make out what any of them are saying. She decides to just get up early and start working on Zeal's request.-

Petalburg City, now

-She's now outside, but she's fallen asleep on a bench.-

Shoal Cave Lab

-Glavo is being electrocuted in her cage in the corner of the room. Ansien takes his foot off the button, and Glavo falls to the floor. Ansien shakes his head.-

Ansien: <This is really getting old. You are Zwerda.>

-His eyes seem to flash blue for a brief second from Glavo's perspective.-

Ansien: <There's not a single doubt about that. Just remember already.>

-Anima and Choice enter the back room. Ansien glances at them, then turns back to Glavo with an expression of false sympathy.-

Ansien: <Well, I guess the rest can wait a little longer. You'd better be more cooperative when I'm back, Zwerda!>

-Glavo says nothing as he runs out of the room. Anima takes a seat, stares at the blanket-covered device on the table, and sighs.-

Anima: We've come so far. Why am I now getting this feeling of "what the hell are we doing"? For once, I don't get it.

-Choice says nothing.-

Route 111

-Zeal is standing outside the desert.-

Noel: <What are we doing?>

Zeal: I have absolutely no idea what we are doing.

-He looks down at the Go-Goggles he was given by the strange man.-

Zeal: But I have these now, so why not?! I guess that's it!

-He puts them on.-

Zeal: Now that I think about it, do you need a pair, too? Maybe I should find one.

-Noel shakes his head.-

Zeal: All right. If you're fine with it, guess we'll just get going!

-And so they enter the desert.-

Fletcha's Room - TS

~Only one way to tell for sure~

-Mew turns the Fletching back into Fletcha, and himself back into a Greninja-

<So, how's it feel to be human again?>

Petalburg

Lucius: Anybody else would hear you talking to yourself and call it insanity.

Amarins: You mean it isn't already?

-Lucius blinks, then steps back nervously-

Lucius: Okay, that's just plain creepy.

Sarah: Trust me, we hate it too.

Eskay: Not our fault we haven't been separate long enough to start thinking differently.

Lucius: ...Maybe you could try being, I dunno, actually separate for a bit? Just long enough to start acting sliiiightly different?

Sarah: We would, but...

Eskay: Being together makes it a lot easier to explain to people.

Lucius: Ugh, and you're finishing each other's sentences, too...

-Eskay blushes slightly, while Sarah simply rolls her eyes.-

Route 111, desert

-Zeal and Noel pass a sign with an arrow, labeled "This way to Mauville City".-

Zeal: Remember that! That'll be good to keep in mind for when we're trying to find our way out.

-Noel nods. The two look for fossils for quite a while, and Zeal eventually notices something.-

Zeal: Aha! Is this it?

-He pulls it out of the ground.-

Zeal: ...Well, it's certainly not a Cover Fossil. Are those even found here?

-He brushes off some sand.-

Zeal: It's a... Claw Fossil? I think? Maybe? In any case, I think it's a fossil.

-He leans his bag against a nearby sign to put the fossil in, then stands up and realizes what the sign says: "This way to Fallarbor Town".-

Zeal: ...Noel.

-Noel looks at Zeal.-

Zeal: Noel, do you know what I'm thinking right now?

-Noel shakes his head.-

Zeal: I haven't messed with anybody since... the stuff with Mel. Not really. And I am getting a strong urge to break that trend right now.

-Noel tilts his head as Zeal prepares to take the sign down to switch it with the one on the Mauville side.-

Fletcha's Room - TS

Fletcha: I don't feel any different than before...

-Beat-

But I was just able to understand you! Thank you soooo much, like, you really don't know how much this means to me! -he says enthusiastically with a big grin on his face-

(A bedraggled, exhausted Simon is just about dragging himself into the outskirts of the town. His mons don't seem to be with him, or possibly aren't even out of their Pokeballs.)

Route 111, desert

-Zeal is standing admiring the sign on the Fallarbor side, which now claims the path leads to Mauville.-

Zeal: Now that that's— Ngah!

-He's swatted aside by the sudden appearance of something red. He doesn't hurt himself landing, but can't stand up due to the pain of the initial blow. He tries to lift himself up only to fall again. Before he can figure out his attacker's identity, a red claw is around his neck.-

Boatman's Scizor: <   Found you.   >

Petalburg

-Joseph and Munn seem to be watching from afar-

Joseph: Why, will you look at that...!

Munn: That's the green guy, right?

Joseph: Uh-huh! Mr. Breloom.

Munn: Doesn't seem in good shape...

Petalburg

(Due to his sheer fatigue, Simon isn't going to bother approaching Joemunn even on the off chance he's taken notice of them. As of right now, he's just sort of flopping onto a bench in relief.)

-Eskay/Sarah's phone(s) might buzz and/or ring.-

Iri Manor

-Dune and Deziree arrive at the manor.-

Dune: Helloooo?

Deziree: Sarah? Eskay? Saraskay? Esrah? Rocky?

Iri Manor

-The duo blinks at the sudden Duniree.-

Eskay: ...Er... hey, you two.

Sarah: You got here fast.

Iri Manor

Dune: She ran fast.

-Deziree runs over to the two split personalities.-

Deziree: Oh my goodness you two look EXACTLY FINE WHAT THE HECK DID YOU TWO DO?!

-Deziree pulls the two of them into a surprisingly soft hug.-

Sarah: He, uh, misfired. And then there were two of us.

Deziree: WOW, when they call him the Deity of DNA, they MEAN it!

-Deziree scratches her chin.-

Deziree: I wonder if he'll let me have a skin sample...

-They shoot looks at each other.-
