Nathan had agreed on another session of training his skills with Sophia, mainly to get aqcuainted fully with basic psychokinetic abilities, in the outer regions of the city. Having put th armband on, he had warmed up for the lesson with honing the earlier telekinesis attempts.
Ralts!Nathan: <This is really awkward, being instructed by my own Pokemon.>
Sophia: <We handled telekinetic moving of things last time, now let's try using that energy for offense.>
Ralts! Nathan: <My understanding is it behaves much like a baseball.>
Sophia: <Well, kind of, but delivering it isn't as easy as just making a chunk of energy and throwing. You need to expend some of your own power to it.>
Ralts!Nathan: <Please explain in more detail.>
Sophia: <Focus your psychic energy to your hand. Insert some of your own strength to it.>
Nate concentrated, feeling a spark trvel his arms as a clairvoyant orb of generous size appeared in his hand.
Ralts!Nathan: <I'm really doing this, aren't I?>
Sophia: <Now dispose of that ball, it is purposefully unstable. Throw it at something, like that wall!>
Nate did feel the psychokinetic ball getting very dangerus looking, so he heeded the advice and chucked it at the wall, leaving a minor dent.
Ralts!Nathan: <This is just great! I don't mind the size as long as I can launch attacks like that.>
Sophia: <Maybe once you get us to some fights you can do that.>
Harvey: <It's been awfully long since the last time I dueled something, so it would definitely be welcome. You need to get in shape, too.>
Ralts!Nathan: <Wait, what? No, I can't take on other pokemon, not in this form!>
Anita: <That's why he said you should train! Pokemon evolve as they toughen up, yeah? You oughta be wearing a pretty tutu soon too. And some mean psychic punch as well.>
Ralts!Nathan <I don't know, I think Sophia here's a lot more adept at his stuff.>
Sophia: <That's because I've been tested in battles, defending you and your friends. It becomes a necessity for me to keep up with the threats you face, but Harvey's right, we can't be with you everywhere, and when you have to face something alone, you'll want to be ready.>
Ralts!Nathan: <...True.> Nathan removed the armband and turned human.
Nathan: "Thanks for the concern. Now let's go." With that they entered the city again.
The words of his pokemon lingered for some time. Nathan's concern for his own safety, like in the beginning of his adventures, had transformed to concern for his Pokemon's safety, Sophia's most so, and he couldn't tell why.
