This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Well Spider-Men ended with Peter looking up Miles and being shocked at what he found. And the miniseries has to have some point other than trapping Mysterio in 1610.
I'm pretty sure they are NOT going to kill off Peter Parker in 616, at least for a long amount of time. Marvel NOW! is supposed to be a jumping on point for readers, and without Peter, nobody is going to want to jump on.
Especially with Marvel pandering to folks coming into the series from the movie, which features Peter Parker.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)So, did the Alpha story feel like a huge waste of time to anyone else?
How did it end?
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.
Alpha messes up, Spider-man depowers him.
I feel like there was absolutely no point to the story.
You guys should check this out.
700 issues? That's a long-running series if you ask me! But I guess everything has to come to an end sooner or later.
This Marvel NOW! initiative makes me think that Marvel Comics is playing Follow the Leader with DC Comics and their New 52. Am I wrong here?
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee! This actually isn't the first renumbering ASM's done. Uncanny X-Men, I think, may have been Marvel's longest-running continuously-numbered series, at 544 issues. ASM lasted until #441, in 1999, then restarted as volume 2 for a couple years.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. It'll probably get renumbered before the next milestone.
My hypothesis on the big event? I think Gwen will return. As I mentioned earlier, Marvel seems to be pandering a bit to the movie audiences lately (such as the current Avengers lineup, Hawkeye's new costume, and Nick Fury Jr.), and Ms. Stacy was one of the leads in the Amazing Spider-Man film. It's not the first time they've attempted to bring her back, and it's something that would definitely get fans to go after Slott in anger.

Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Except Slott has said she'll never be brought back as long as he's on the title; he even killed her clone, who'd been a dangling plot thread for decades, presumably to make sure she was Deader than Dead. If that's what it is, I'd imagine he'd have been forced to do it by Executive Meddling (as you said, to cash in on the movie).

Oh. Didn't know he had said that. Good to hear. But of course, there is that Executive Meddling you mentioned.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)I'd actually be open to Gwen coming back. As I said earlier, my opinion of her death story is negatively-influenced by the fact that it basically invented 'fridging; I think bringing her back would be a powerful message that 'fridging Is Not Okay, personally.
Minimum Carnage started and it seems good so far. Carnage escapes due to villains from the Microverse, and Venom track him to Houston where they are building a Portal to the Microverse, and Kaine is there trying to stop Cletus.
Ah, a collision of the "Dark Spider-Men." Wonder if Spidercide will show up?
No I think it's just Carnage, Kaine, and Agent Venom. Kaine just wants to kill off Carnage to stop him once and for all, and Flash feels responible because he is Carnage's step daddy. And Carnage just wants a whole new Universe full of victims.
That was a joke; I know full well Spidercide is never coming back.
I don't think Gwen will return, and while I do consider her my second-favorite of the Spider-love interests, at the same time, I think she's better left dead. Gwen's death was a defining moment in Spider-history, right up there with Uncle Ben.
Then again, I wouldn't have brought back Norman Osborn either, but here we are.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.So, it's looking more and more like SUPERIOR actually IS going to be Spider-Man.
Can anyone recommended some good Spidey graphic novels? (doesn't know anything about Spider-Man outside of movies and video games)
Start with Ultimate Spider-Man volume 1 and just keep reading from there.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. If you don't mind Silver Age writing and Black & White artwork, I'd recommend the first two Essential Spider-Man collections since Stan Lee and Steve Ditko were awesome together.
Back in 2004, Wizard published a book called "Spider-Man Masterpiece Edition" which reprinted Spidey's best stories from the 80s, like "Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut" and "The Kid Who Collected Spider-Man'. It's out of print now, but shouldn't be too hard to find online.
For more recent stuff, "Big Time" is a good jumping-on point.
For the non-canon stuff, Ultimate Spider Man and Marvel Adventures are both really good.

Weird in a Can (updated M-F)The big change that will happen in Amazing Spider-Man #700 is that Spider-Man will be forced to sell his life as a bachelor to Mephisto and wakes up married to Carlie Cooper.
My god, the horror.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShh, don't give Quesada ideas.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.
Oh. Please no.
