Yeah. Fox. If you wanted to pull the "it's too dangerous for a woman!" card, there are two things you should've considered.

1: Maybe you should've considered that before you hired her in the first place and saw her prove herself against the Aparoids.
2: Fuck everything about that sentiment.

Or maybe it's just a well intentioned but kind of misplaced "I don't want my kinda-sorta girlfriend to die because she's working for/with me so I'll just fire her!"

Should've thought of that before your logic was destroyed by her doing as well as anyone against the Aparoids, Fox.

Besides. It's a dangerous solar system. You're stronger in a team anyway.

I really don't understand how that argument played out, anyway. Or how it even got that far. One thing that even allows arguments like that to even happen is that it's impossible for a person to get into another person's head and fully understand them and their views and it's even harder when said person is bad with words. Krystal, being a telepath, doesn't have this problem. If she couldn't understand his reasoning through his words then she should have just read his mind with his permission. Even if she didn't accept his reasoning (which she wouldn't), she would understand his position better and thus be better able to convince using her own words (or, hell, even her own thoughts if she can transmit them).

Part of me is convinced that Command forgot that Krystal is a telepath. The other part isn't sure since I've stricken most of Command's story from memory.

I don't think that being a telepath means you can always get people. You hear what they're thinking and how they reason, but it still may not make sense to you.

Command ended in 9 different ways and I remember reading that the new game was going to have its own continuity, so Krystal probably won't have been fired at all for this new one. Or if she had then it probably won't come up much.

A telepath should at least be able to understand the other person's reasoning even if they don't agree with it.

Anyway, since that conversation wouldn't really go anywhere, I also heard a long time ago that the next Star Fox game would either evict Command from canon or start somewhere in the middle and make a new ending. Personally, I prefer the air hope they do the latter.

I'm setting my expectations high: I want all the characters from Command, the on-foot type missions and weapons from Assault, and the level variety (and memeability) from 64.

But at the least...good level variety. Assault was just too short.

To this day, I have not found a ROM of Star Fox 2 to play.

Judging by the name and their comments, maybe it's a prequel? Or a small change at being a re-imagining of Star Fox 2.

On one hand, it looks like insane amounts of fun.

On the other hand, it's a reboot so no Krystal and the Arwing models have reset. I'm also not sure how to feel about the transforming vehicles.

Platinum is working on Star Fox Zero. That might explain why it looks so damn awesome.

Why is Nintendo giving Krystal the cold shoulder? I'd rather have Krystal over Slippy.

Because they're rebooting into an AU. Who knows? She could very well appear later in the game.

How do you know for sure it's a reboot?

Why is it called Zero?... unless you have a campaign where you play as James

or it starts before Andross' war where Peppy and Fox form the new Star Fox.

They're rebooting into an AU like what was done with Dm C Devil May Cry. The original timeline is there to be continued if anyone feels like it but Zero is only connected by the characters and settings. The Great Fox is back, the Arwings are back to their 64 designs, Krystal is MIA, Pigma is back in Star Wolf, Andross and his army have returned.

At first, I thought it was just a full fledged reboot but then it was said that Zero is basically its own little thing.

Part because it allowed them to use cool kanji in the title; part because it isn't a sequel, prequel, or intrequel.

I never really cared about Krystal that much so I don't mind that she's not there.

I'm really liking the gameplay though. I loved how Assault played and this one seems to pretty much expand on it.

Doesn't "Zero" imply a prequel? Like that's a stereotypical way to name a prequel. I don't know for sure what it is, but neither are you.

Yes, but they outright said that it wasn't in the Event. I know exactly what this game is because they said exactly what this game is.
