It doesn't have to be actual magic, foo, just a family that happens to worship weird things
Also, Sabrina the Teenage Witch was able to make magic a slice of life schtick, maybe look into that.

So I once had this story concept of two best friends and the plot they're involved in was a war of elemental wolf people in factions of staying in hiding, taking of the world, or outing themselves and live in harmony with the normals.
Then I found out, after seriously writing the premise for myself, that this would had no need to be a sprawling action story with good characterization and development when I can do the same thing without the action.
Problem is I've rarely done something "mundane"-eque. Even my non action/adventure stories are quirky comedies that you have to turn off logic for in favor of allowing odd things to continue happening.
I want this to be different, I want it to be a usual light heated comedy but without the fantastic elements in favor of something more slice of life.
Any advice?
