...I'm getting nostalgic vibes.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Petitions never work.
They did? Link to that here, if you can. Also, I think that Nintendo of America has to give the go-ahead to do this.
"USE YOUR WORDS NOT THE FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE" ''memyselfand I 2"Online petitions never work.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.True. But if we manage to gather, say thousands of signatures, Nintendo will understand that there is a market for this game, and they will sell it in America, since they WILL make money for it.
"USE YOUR WORDS NOT THE FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE" ''memyselfand I 2"I'm pretty sure Nintendo can go online, find Starmen.net and other fan-sites, and figure that out.
Not knocking you for trying, but even if there were people willing to "sign" this petition, you'd probably do better asking for some signatures on a fan-site...

The problem is there is a bunch of licensed music. And that music happens to be tied to the battle system. It would not be worth all of the work replacing the current audio with different songs and then redesigning the beats for those new songs for the battles.
As much as I love MOTHER 3, it's not gonna happen.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonDo realize that there are reasons why Nintendo chose not to release this game in the west.
Mother 3 is a copyright/legal nightmare.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."No offense meant, but Mother 3 is for a platform that is not only two generations defunct now, but not playable on any hardware Nintendo intends to support beyond the end of this year. Couple that with the fact that the reason they didn't bring over Mother 3 to begin with was because they didn't think it would sell and the massive legal tape with the music and such and you have one big ball of "OH MY GOD LET IT GO ALREADY".
Seriously, if you want Mother 3, play the fan translation.
Believe me when I say I do want to play it: I am just concerned about the legal reprocussions of doing so.
EDIT: Electivirus, you give a mean Hannibal Lecture.

"USE YOUR WORDS NOT THE FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE" ''memyselfand I 2"As much as I wanna see this happen, considering how the Big N already shot down a pen-and-paper petition organized by Starmen.net with 30K+ signatures, I don't think that any number of electronic signatures would change their minds. Also, if you're that averse to the more shady means of obtaining MOTHER 3, there's always the copies on E Bay going for $50.
Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985So I think you know what the only course of action is.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderI'm curious - has an online gaming petition ever done any good at all? Ever? Can anyone think of a single example? I'm genuinely asking, I mean, you hear all the time about these petitions to block the sale of Left 4 Dead 2 or make Infinity Ward give the PC dedicated servers, and all it does is group these people together so they can be mocked.
I'm pretty sure acquiring -COUGH COUGH- a magically translated version is the accepted means of action at this point.
On that note, that video -shakes head- that video.

^I can't believe he did more work on it. XD
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I doubt this petition will get far, but Mother 3 is amazing. That said, *signs*
Several fansites had mass petitions a good three years ago back when the game was still somewhat fresh, and nothing came out of them. You're better off playing the totally awesome fan translation which has been out for a while. Considering Nintendo isn't making any money on it here in the USA, it's not going to hurt them if you download it, though your mileage may vary on that.
Considering that the Fan Translation even added a Bestiary that was also a practice tool, it's automatically somewhat better than the original.
At least I think it was added in... I know they fixed the text limits at least.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonThere's always that Dragon Quest released on the DS last year. Its game play should be similar enough, since Earthbound is essentially a parody of Dragon Quest.
Indigo Dingo, an online petition was enough to keep Mewtwo out of Super Smash Bros Brawl...well then the fan base blew up and reversed its decision after Brawl was released, so I doubt it will ever work again.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackI would say that the only real similarity DQIX and Mother 3 have is that they are both JRPGs. Which isn't very similar at all.

'twas brillig.Bah, I remember Earthbound being like Dragon Warrior 1-3. I guess a lot changed between 4 and 9.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackThe petition isn't why Mew Two was taken out. At least that's not what I was told.
{TV Tropes prayed from the bottom of it's heart!]
Please... If anyone can hear this prayer....Send this message to all gamers..Being MOTHER 3 to America legally, without being sued to play it....
So, this thread is for people to sign petitions for MOTHER 3 to come to America. If there is already a petition wbebsite, PM me with the adress. Otherwise, put your signature on this petition. A post in this thread counts as a signature, unless you specify it as otherwise.
