How has there not been a thread for this series yet? Obligatory link

Interpreting Gordon Freeman as Insufferable Genius, Sociopathic Man-child was one of the greatest things ever. As far as I'm concerned, this is canon to me.

I REALLY hope Ross Scott keeps this going into HL 2. I know he's not as enthusiastic about the series as his fans, but having Freeman being worshiped as Messianic figure would DEFINITELY play-off of Freeman'sMind!Gordon Freeman well.

Episodes 30 and 31 just have him practically Jumping Off The Sanity Slope.

Also, there are some damn good spinoffs, like the ones by these guys.

....He was ever that sane to begin with? The series has always pointed to Gordon having a brilliant but disturbed mind. Doesn't help that everything is trying to kill him.

Well, in Episode 30, he resolves to kill anyone who looks like they're part of the military (even saying that he would kill a grandma with a Camo blanket draped on her) and in Episode 31, he ponders famous killers who had no military training after using a Refuge in Audacity-related argument.

Well Gordon's periodically had freakouts since the early part of the series and has mentioned being delusional (believing that frogman once invaded his basement, for example). There's also of course "I HAVE TO BLOW EVERYTHING UP! IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO PROVE I'M NOT CRAZY!"

Still, he was, at that point, just looking to get out and away. He tried to get in the least amount of fights possible, but now he realizes that it's no use anymore.

Well, He's always been sociopathic; I struck this as less of a Moral Event Horizon and more of him musing about he could explain away all the deaths. Talking about those serial killers was about how they had military training and he didn't, making pining all the deaths of the soldiers on him impossible because he'd never fired a gun before (Gordon claims he learned all he knows of using weapons from the Die Hard movies.) Its always been Gordon's character to look out for Number 1.

Haven't checked it out. Ehh, It just seemed like an also-ran compared to Freeman's Mind, sort of like what happened after YGOTAS took off. It just seemed like more of the same, but not the same level of quality.

Well, Shephard is actually less sociopathic than Freeman in that series.

I've been watching it since 10.5 came out and it's been an awesome trip. I couldn't imagine sitting through up to the current episode in one sitting. I too think that Freeman is losing what little he had at the start.

And it seems Ross has a cold or something, as he explained on his blog. The dialogue for Episode 32 has been moving slowly along as a result.

After putting all the episodes into a playlist I found that the total time adds up to 3 hours, 52 minutes. I knew it was long but I didn't realize it was almost four hours worth.

And there's even a group for the major spinoffs.

At this point, "Mind Series" might be worthy of its own article on the Wiki.

So I recently got into this thanks to Scherzo, and I'm really enjoying it so far. The Alternate Character Interpretation of Gordon Freeman as a crazy Jerkass is pretty hilarious, and Ross Scott's voicework as Gordon is pretty phenomenal, his delivery alone makes a lot of the lines hysterical. He also does a good job of making Gordon a fully formed character, giving him enough Hidden Depths to prevent from becoming just a one dimensional joke character.

Also, the word Smupid is now officially a part of my vocabulary.

The YouTube Poop community needs to use the voice clip of Gordon Freeman saying "Massachusetts" somewhere, I'm not sure where.

Updates are random. In November of 2009 he put up 6 episodes in the span of a month. Then released the next one about 3 months later.

According to Ross's blog, episodes 33 and 34 are completed and sent in to Machinima, but they haven't posted them yet.

...So we have all this time spent waiting between episodes, and now that he starts producing them quickly, Machinima keeps them all to themselves?

Incidentally, if you didn't know, the reason for the sporadic releases is Ross Scott's other series, Civil Protection. that series took a lot of work, and what was supposed to be the Halloween special ended up released in March at TWENTY-SIX MINUTES LONG.

Needs a new signature.

Actually, it might be the lack of priorities at Machinima. And the 720p processing.

Anyways, 33 is up on You Tube now:
