I'm not sure why this hasn't got a page in the wiki yet. At least, I haven't seen one.

Regardless, I came across Super Mario Bros. X a couple days ago, and since then I've spent almost all my free time playing it. They said it was "The greatest fan game tribute to Super Mario of all time". They weren't lying.

Is this old news to my fellow Mario fans, or a pleasant surprise?

OMG You play porn games what are you a pervert?

Jokes aside, I downloaded it, but surprisingly Windows 7 is shit (I KNOW RITE) and it didn't work. The one time I got it to work I realized my laptop doesn't recognize more of three keys being pressed at the same time, making Running+Jumping impossible.

@OP: It's a pleasant surprise. I have not heard of this until now. I'll probably check it out later.

I tried downloading Portal when Steam made it free and it didn't work either. So maybe the only W7 that is shit is mine.

You have something against executables, besides the obvious possibility of viruses?

I thought it was Vista that was hated by many, not 7.

^^ No problem, besides the fact that, as a Mac user who doesn't particularly want to buy and install Windows 7 solely for games, it's kind of useless for me.

Though I will file it away for future memory when I do get access to my PC eventually.

What are the requiriments for this game? I can open the launcher, but the game itself does not load, like how Game Maker games behaved in a older computer i once used, except this game really won't open.

[up]According to the help file:

  • OS : Windows 95, 98, XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (Will run on both 32bit and 64bit systems)
  • Processor : 1.8 GHZ
  • Memory : 512 (1024 for Windows Vista and Windows 7)
  • Graphics : 128 MB Video card (Requires 1024x768 Resolution or Higher)
  • Hard Drive Space : 150 MB

Assuming you fulfill those requirements, what happens when you open the application and select "start game"? The only indication you have as to how fast it's loading is the rotation of the coin in the bottom-right.

I completely forgot about this thread. And that I posted in it.

[up]You mean the game linked at the top wasn't finished?

[up] Something like that; he'd done side projects and add-ons that people were bugging him to finish so he made a fake C&D form Nintendo to cancel it.

So he quit because he couldn't take anymore nagging?

...I don't know if that's the right thing to do. Seems a bit spiteful to me.

Some fans can be pretty harsh. Depending on what kind of "nagging" he was getting, just quitting might have been the nicest response.
