Used to play Fire Arrow and WW 2 China a lot myself.
Nowadays, waiting for the next wave of Warband mods, when modmakers really start pushing the boundaries of the engine.
I'm waiting for them to make a mod that adds more quests, and makes your decisions more 'weighty'.
Haven't played this for awhile. It is fun - to a point. Once you get a kingdom all sorted out and all that, what's to do?
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Conquer. Everything.
And get some Lords, and get them powerful enough to conquer everything for you.
Then sit on your throne and look mopey like Conan until a mod comes out that lets you sail across the ocean to conquer another continent.
I like your line of thinking.
Needs more city management stuff, though. Might make it easier for you to do stuff. Warband expanded upon this a bit. Maybe I should update the game and try it and see if anything has changed in teh last few months.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Any good mods for Warband? Because I managed to build an over 100 unit army, while maintaining a healthy amount of businesses and even a captured Village - and I play a WOMAN. Somehow the Mongol analogues accepted me as a capable asskicker after I managed to capture TWO Vaegir boyars one after another. Then I got ganked by a third boyar and had to rebuild my crew, but still.
Also, cavalry is stupidly OP. At least half of my army is mounted, the other half is mostly composed of archers and heavy infantry that hadn't got advanced to cavalry status yet.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisSpecifically a mod that adds more content instead of just an 'alternate continuity'. No English 1257! Maybe added quests, lands, factions etc.
Also I agree that the cavalry is heavily overpowered, it took a whole lot of time but once I amassed 60 Swadian Knights outside of sieges almost no one could challenge me.
Hell with my army of 110 I crushed a 300 man army of King Ragnar.

A new Mount&Blade is coming out soon (With Fire And Sword).
On all sites, 10% off all preorders.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.Any word if it expands deplomacy and all the other faction stuff, or is it just pretty much Warband + muskets?
From what I saw it is pretty much to Warband what was Warband to original Mount and Blade. I.e. more of the same, just improved in every way.
There is slight graphical and interference upgrade which is pretty clear from first seconds of any preview video floating the net, better and upgraded economical model, with options like forming and sending your own caravans, better diplomacy, ability to form a defensive circle of wagons when attacked, bombs, more options at siege, like having a possibility to finally actually knock down walls with cannons or to sneak into the castle and poison wells/open gates, and probably a lot more. Oh, and something that vaguely looked like actual story.
And probably a reworked combat system, so that your muscle memory trained in previous games will become utterly useless again and has to be relearned.

Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder.Muscle memory - I had to relearn it all over again when Warband came out.
Sounds neat though, I'll check that out...!
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Ha! What I said, you foreign nancies want to chase Cossacks through the Steppes! (does the Wolodyjowski whisker waggle)

Since the last few threads on the game have faded into archival and the general Paradox Interactive thread is mostly about their strategy games, I thought it might be a good idea to have a separate Mount And Blade thread. Game really needs more love here.
So, I might as well start the thread off with my experiences. I'm playing quite a few files at once because of a bad case of mod-induced Alt-itis, none of which have yet to break the 100-man-party mark. The most likely candidate for doing so any time soon is Elle Captor, my Age of Change character, whose words * are backed with
nuclear weaponsthe gratuitous amounts of firearms that the modmakers so kindly stashed in an easily-found secret chest and a roughly 50-man Multinational Team including 6 or 7 rather menacing Vaegir Bodyguards. On a side note, my 1866 file has gone Off the Rails. My character, a US army colonel's son, skipped town after a duel gone awry (yes, I know it doesn't really matter beyond failing the associated quest and losing a bit of reputation, but it made sense at the time) and joined up with the Comanches. I have no idea what I am going to do next there but it will be cool.
