ATTENTION. WEAPON FIGURED OUT. I CHOSE A SCYTHE. NOW GEDDOUT.

I already have used:

  • Fisticuffs
  • Chains
  • Archery
  • Knives
  • Whip
  • Kukri Knives
  • Boomerang
  • Swords
  • Polearm
  • Throwing Knives
  • Staff
  • Rope
  • Handcuffs
  • Long nails

I need a form of weapon for a 20-something female contortionist that doesn't have any significant amount of strength or anything like that. Long range or mid range weapon might be the best, but any suggestions would work.

And while she could just do hand-to-hand combat, I have like, five people already doing that.

Current weapons I am considering:

  • Tonfa
  • Chakram
  • Katara

Is this an old setting? if so, something like flintlock pistols may work.

Sickles too. Or these.

Tonfa. Tridents.

There is magic, but no guns. Magic has also been used too much for a fighting style, much like fisticuffs.

The tonfas look interesting...will have to do research on those.

I'd suggest a naginata, but you said you've already used polearms.

For a contortionist, something like Tira's ring...saw..blade...thing...comes to mind, but it's not exactly mid- or long-range. A projectile weapon, perhaps? Maybe chakrams?

You mean like Jango from One Piece? That's a REALLY good idea, but I already stole the kukri knives from it [lol]

Hmmmm....

What is the ring of death, exactly?

Urumi might work. It's a whip-sword kinda thing requiring loads of skill.

I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.

Well, that was what I was planning on using as a basis for my whip fighter.

You could use a pair of katara, as they're pretty lightweight, can be pretty long and require some amount of agility to use well.

Oh India, you really are a source of endless interesting weapons.

Coud do that, could shrink 'em a bit, maybe put them on some brass knuckles...

That might make it back to being fisticuffish though...

@AHR: I could best describe the Ring of Death (can't remember it's actual name) as a chakram, but much bigger. It's not exactly used for throwing either, more like a sword that happens to be shaped (and in some cases, used) like a hula hoop. I think.

Whelp. Well, so much for that. Maybe you could start looking into improbable weapons instead?

Though on the slightly-more-probable end, maybe a shield? Can be used for ramming into enemies, throwing, or protecting as necessary!

What do you think about her using a sling? I figure that it would be very handy to pick up a stone and fling it at someone's head. Also it helps that you can make a new sling from scratch, so most times she won't be unarmed. grin

Use a bull whip. Also,...How many characters are you using? Unless you have five that can use umpteen weapons, that's alot of characters.

I already have a whip. It's on the list.

And yes, I have a lot of characters.

Just a question, would sticks of dynamite, or any other explosive, used as projectile or mid-range weapons be reasonably plausible in this story's setting?

Nope. Well, it would be, technically, but not for the character and not for the fights she'll be getting in.

@R Labs: Heh. Was thinking of the exact same thing.

Crossbow. Different from archery and yet not a gun.

Ooh! I know! What about a morning star? You know, one of those spiky balls on chains? ...Or are they called something else?

Morning Star

Still pretty 'weapon on stick', but I could start mixing and matching.

Mace...doesn't work too well, I already have someone that works with chains, and they do indeed put weights on them (he is escape-artist themed, so yeah)

Huh. So it is.

Edited the OP with some weapons that I'm leaning towards, just to give a general idea of what ballpark I'm in.
