I'll keep that in mind. I did get the whole One Piece vibe off of it, which my I mentioned the absurdity bit.

As I said I have a very broad definition for holding my interest. It takes a lot to actually get me to dislike a series. Yeah, if it doesn't capture my interest I'm not going to continue, but it doesn't take much to catch my interest, so as long as one of the characters or plot is interesting to me, I'll keep reading. Unless it's Reborn. The only reason I kept reading that is because my little sister begged me to.

I got ten chapters into reborn and decided that I was done with it. Why does your sister really want you to read the series? She need someone to talk to about it?

She was 12 at the time, given that it was about 3-4 years ago.

No. She dropped it recently, actually. She begged me to read it back then to get past the comedy parts into where it genre shifted into a more typical shonen action series.

Oh you just don't want to stop reading it now that you have invested so much time into it?

It's kind of the same reason I read Naruto. I just want to see how it ends mostly, though with Naruto I can honestly say that I don't find the process of reading it almost painful.

Is it close to the end like we assume Naruto is?

I honestly have no idea. Other than the eventuality of Tsuna becoming a mafia boss, The arcs after it don't really have much of connecting thread from what I remember excepting for some plot point about the arcebaleno, so I have no idea if it's going to end any time soon.

That sucks. Does the main character at least want to be a mafia boss yet?

Eh. Kind of. With the current arc he seemed to making a little bit of a start towards accepting it, but he's not very far really.

And I feel as if I'm being a little unfair to the series. It has had it's moments that have made me smile, laugh and even feel a little warm and fuzzy inside. It's had some decent fights. I liked the vongola ring arc, the mukuro arc was semi-decent and there were some decent moments in the oft maligned future arc. It's just overall that It seems to balance out more to the negative for me, but maybe it's because I dislike this arc a lot even though it has a few good moments that I'm so down on the series right now.

Hey all, thought I should post here to let people know I Archive Binge-d this series just the other day. Love the lvl 80 fart, though I don't really like those three. I understand that they are the silly idiot group that just does not die, but they don't do anything for me.

I still wonder who got the lvl 60 and how...

@the size of the world: I just don't think about it. The setting is already so ridiculous that I just ignore it. Unlike One Piece, there seems to be no end to the ways things go weird (One Piece only has two: Devil Fruits and Haki) and no real structure to the overall world.

What I don't understand is how the cook is going to survive in the gourmet world without taking in some of those "gourmet jeans" himself. He is barely surviving as is.

Anything in particular you would like me to comment on?

I've been wondering about the cook as well. I also wonder how one gets those genes? Maybe Toriko is going to evolve a pouch for Komatsu to live in.

Well truth be told the weirdness is all food based. It's just that they will use food to hand wave any sort of weirdness.

On chp 15. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be keep this series. It hasn't managed to get on my top 25 list, but it's fun nonetheless. I take it back though when I said it had One Piece moments of absurdity. It reminds me more of {{Jojo's Bizarre Adventure}} in the way it's absurd.

Only thing I think I dislike is the way the author draws Komatsu's reaction faces. It just pisses me off for some illogical reason.

I don't really care for reaction faces in general with very few exceptions.

Fair enough. Most of the time I don't mind, but the ones here are particularly annoying for some reason.

Oh well. It's a small gripe and the only one I have so far.

As I said before I think the series slowly improves in quality. Nothing huge just a slow steady increase as the mangaka learns more about his world and characters.

I see. Well as I said this series is best described as fun. It's a light read to just go with the flow and enjoy it.

Fucking hungry now though.

I think that I may be the only one who never gets hungry while reading it. I'm just not a food person if you get what I mean.

I get ya. I guess I'm a food person, considering I always get hungry whenever my mom watches food Network and this series has the same effect.

Yeah that type of stuff never gets me hungry. I eat to become full again, and that's about it.

Oh boy. You have only began to have the hunger issues this series can induce. As it goes on it almost feels like the Mangaka is insulting the reader by showing them foods they can never, ever eat.

That gave me a WAFF. I don't know about you guys but I enjoy breather arcs like these.

That was a nice breather chapter. Common story a nice telling of it.
