I would love it if they took a lot of inspiration from Ultimate Spider-Man.

I wonder if any film is ever going to have those little web wings he used to have - it surprised me when they showed up in The Spectacular Spider Man.

Click the photos for the hi-res version. The red is in a raised honey-comb like pattern with black centers. Ugh.

It's alright, I suppose. Wait, what's up with those hexagon patterns. Yeah, hexagon-pattern is always cool, but that's not something I expect from a Spider-Man outfit.

See the little metal bits near the wrists? WEB SHOOTERS. CREATED WEB-SHOOTERS. grin

I prefer organic webshooters. Theories that they should be coming out of his thighs aside, it feels more natural that this high school/college student shouldn't be making Nobel prize standard discoveries. He can be smart, he can be a genius even, but he can't be that smart. Besides "Spiderman, Spiderman, he can do everything a spider can...except for producing webs, the signature attribute of spiders" doesn't make as good a song.

Oh and who wants to bet that they get some lazy drama out of him running out of web fluid? I hate "running out of web fluid".

Okay, regarding the photo, why is Spider-Man giving me the Kubrick Stare?

He's not looking back up at us and he's not smiling. That's not Kubrick Stare.

I'm getting pretty tired of these friggin reboots. Every series is getting rebooted every five minutes now.

I prefer the web shooters, it means they get to properly establish that Parker is a brilliant scientist, something the previous movie series just touched on.

As a college student he comes with some crazy device like that?

Personally I prefer the organic shooters. It means that even if he is a scientist he wasn't coming up with something so revolutionary at a ridiculously young age. Also we don't have to put up with something like "the shooters are jammed" at all the crucial moments for the sake of stupid drama. Although I felt Spidey 2 still managed to pull that out vaguely.

I prefer the organic shooters too, but I'm coming at it as someone who's never read the comics.

As someone who did read the comics...I really don't mind what kind of web-shooters he has. Spider-Man is Spider-Man.

The comics tried to integrate them disastrously at one point, I remember.

Hey guys, why all the hate? Look at the characters:

Peter

MJ

Harry

Proto Goblin

Lizard

Gwen

In his high school years, and it is based on Ultimate Spiderman of all things. Don't you think that you are getting upset not because of the custome, but because They Changed It, Now It Sucks! ? Finally, the Drama was an idiotic rumor, they haven't said anything about that, and they don't want to go the same as the "Drama" from Spiderman 3.

Heck, you know what Raimi wanted to put in Spiderman 4?

-Lizard

Vulture

- Felicity (aka Black Cat) but instead turned into an original character named the "Vulturess"

Oh, and he was planning to do 6 films, featuring, of all things, Mrobius in the sixth, and Kraven in the fifth.

You guys ask me, I'm fine with the Reboot. It will be on par with the New series. I'm thinking it could be a more realistic movie, since a proto goblin and the Lizard are easier first threats than the motherfucking Green Goblin.

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

Wait.. You were serious? I thought that was fanficiton you just wrote there.

And I'm the only one that sees mech shooters as a good thing? Fine, whatever/ I guess I jut liked the nineties cartoon and ultimate spider-man too much or something.

I mean, I have no feelings for the organic web shooters, it's just its location makes the least amount of sense biologically for him and it owuld make more that he designed the shooters themselves to be on his rest. Considering he got his powers from an altered spider, he should've gone down the Spinnerette route.

There is actually an in-universe Hand Wave Justification for this: one of his spider powers is a subconscious knowledge of the chemicals that go into creating webs.

Black Cat was shoehorned by Sony, then Raimi disagreed and this happened.

Raimi wanted to have Vulture and Lizard (or was it just Vulture, who knows with all this) for Spidey4.

The thing about Organic Web shooters is that they come with the "bitten by weird spider" leap. So the audience only has to get over one aspect of the story. When you add in the mechanical shooters, the audience has to suspend their disbelief not only to include that getting bitten by a weird spider gives you powers but that Peter was such a genius that he came up with a revolutionary device in college. I mean, he's Peter Parker not Tony Stark.

Edit: ^ Waaaait, that just raises even more questions!

Admittedly, I do think Raimi's Spiderman would feel tired and boring when spidey 4 came out, but I'm still not sold on the reboot.

Peter was such a genius that he came up with a revolutionary device in college.
But he was already capable of this, this wasn't an issue in other incarnations, him being smart was not that huge a hurdle and if it's well established, as it should, then it shouldn't be an issue. He isn't supposed to be just some average nerd, he's meant to be brilliant.

Actually they could just explain away the mechanical web shooters as the shooters being extremely basic — something a genius-level high school student could whip up in shop class — and the actual fluids being secreted out of his ass and have Peter milking himself every morning.

Too much?

It's not over. Not yet.
