it
it did?
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI wouldn't quite count Circus's trampoline move as a rework of Hi-Jump. Reminded me more of Yo-Yo's Gazer Spiral than anything Hi-Jump.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. Also, Yo-yo needs to come back. What a neat ability.
I sure said that! They've got the same input, but the way it works is very hi-jumpy (though not quite as good since you have to start on the ground).
And you can only do twice times.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Did anyone else notice that every time you destroy a pillar in the last phase of the Star Dream Soul OS battle, you can hear Haltmann scream in pain if you listen carefully?
0-0 That's...freaky, but I'm not surprised....
It's death cry is haltmann's defeat scream slowed down...
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I miss Hi Jump.
That thing was buffed up something fierce in RTDL. Chargeable power levels, more freedom of direction, and downward "jumps" to combo with? Yes please.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Kinda miss Hi-Jump too. At least it was better than Circus.

I remember I had a really easy time in RTDL's True Arena with Hi-Jump.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Invincibility frames is da bomb...disposal.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. That's also the main thing that made Beetle so OP. I never would have gotten through that game's True Arena without that ability.
Also, I'll post my observations about the game later, but I have a quick question about Planet Robobot's True Arena. I already know that the final boss's last attack is a one-hit kill unless you're at full health, and I also know it hits through Leaf's guard, Archer's cover, and Stone's transformation. I've heard that you can block it with ESP, though. Is that true?
ESP's dash attack removes you from the field completely, so yes, you can dodge it with that
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaFrom what I've heard yes, but when I did that with ESP I didn't bother to test it.
It's not too hard to just avoid, though. Just watch the second ring, and once it passes keep yourself level with where it was.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!x3ESP's Vanish attack removes Kirby's hitbox which makes him immune to the OHKO attack.

Ok. That's what I thought, but it's good to know for sure. Thank you.

You can't hold Vanish indefinitely, though, so do note that.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! From a few pages back:
Super Star Ultra had Marx Soul with similar attacks to Drawcia Soul, establishing the concept of "soul" bosses.
Return to Dreamland had Magolor mention Galactic NOVA and most-likely-Marx offhand, and featured Galacta Knight as an out-of-nowhere boss (Though Magolor Soul is nothing like the previous or future soul bosses).
Triple Deluxe featured a LOT of RTDL music in its EX stages, brought back Dark Meta Knight as the instigator of the plot, introduced Drawcia's sister Paintra, and expanded on Kracko via the pause text.
And now Robobot... ehem...
- Features returning bosses- be they just like the originals or simply reminiscent -in the forms of Pix, Kracko, Sphere Doomers, Ice Dragon, Coily Rattler, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Metal General, Dark Matter Blade, Queen Sectonia, Galacta Knight, Whispy Woods, Pyribbit (fuck this guy), and Landia, and again expands on them with the pause text.
- Shows us what Sectonia used to look like before she turned herself into a wasp (Watch her death animation carefully).
- Features so many recurring musical riffs, such as Taking the Halberd and Heart of NOVA in the first and third phases of the final boss respectively, Dedede Clone's battle music incorporating riffs from Revenge of the King in addition to his usual theme, the casino music being an unrecognizably upbeat version of Ripple Star, and that's not counting the countless direct music rips in the menus and EX stages.
- And of course the elephant in the room, takes that off-hand mention of multiple NOV As and runs to the endzone with it, by showing us just what happens when a NOVA's OS gets corrupted and goes berserk. And the True Arena version manages to somehow take the Heart of NOVA boss from Super Star and make a soul version of it.
You know what's in common with all of those games? They're all directed by Shinya Kumazaki. He also designed Drawcia in Canvas Curse.

While Kirby Planet Robobot may be darker than most of the other games in the series, I still think Mass Attack is the darkest.
uh
have you played kirby 64? imo it's the darkest of the series, if you can even call kirby games "dark"
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeUnwilling Robotization carries with it a degree of Body Horror even in really cutesy stylized games like this.
I sure said that!Star Dream controlling Haltmann's lifeless body like a marionette was creepier than almost anything else in the Kirby series.
I liked the level of darkness present in Robobot. Little things like more foreboding title screen/boss themes, tidbits about the the villains' backstory that weren't forced upon the player, a villainous lab level in every world... I'd be happy with HAL continuing this in future games as long as it's not to Shadow the Hedgehog levels.
It helps that Kirby's been kinda dark almost since the start- It's pratically the poster child for Vile Villain, Saccharine Show.

I sure said that!
Circus is good because Hi-jump got folded into it and hi-jump rules.
