Well, we get the next volume of Oriko in a week, and Kazumi is still ongoing.

I'm expecting a third Oriko volume announcement sometime next week.

I skipped on scanning some extremely minor changes, but those aren't much more than touchups (Like the Soul Gem on Umika's forehead being drawn in on most of the frames in Chapters 2 and 3).

Yeah, I'd imagine that would be the case (Actually Umika's forehead gem was first present in Chapter 3). But dumb question: What does the back cover look like?

I hope the author's Q&A gets translated.

Am I the only who expects to see more new Witches in the the next Oriko volume? maybe we'll see the Witches of Kirika, Oriko, and Yuma, considering they don't appear to be on this◊ picture.

There are only ten unidentified figures on that picture, when there are twelve unidentified witches introduced in the anime, so their inclusion or lack of inclusion in that image is meaningless.

It's also the sort of the thing that could easily be changed in the DVD release.

But yes, I expect new witches. I'm also not sure if Yuma will become a witch, because it would just be a needless repeat of what happened to Sayaka.

Yuma is probably still important to the plot. Doesn't it seem disappointing that Oriko is only two volumes long?

In the case of Kazumi, What do you think will happen in the next chapter?

Who's drawing these? I gotta know.

Kazumi has been an interesting mix of obviously predictable and shockingly unpredictable for me. It's pretty likely that Kazumi and the Pleiades will defeat the witch somehow, but then Kazumi will confront them about the Awful Truth. I'm half-expecting a Call-Back to chapter 1, where Kazumi goes "people who waste food are the real bad guys". The origins of the Pleiades Saints and the nature of Jubey will probably come out at that point.

There's also the Evil Nut that was embedded in Kazumi. Normally the death of a magical girl destroys anything created by her magic, but I suspect that the Evil Nuts are more permanent. It's presence may corrupt Kazumi, and/or it may awaken her lost memories. At some point, we will likely learn about Kazumi's Dark and Troubled Past - my pet theory is that she had some sort of mental illness.

Kazumi becoming a witch is something I sadly fear is very likely. The Cosmic Retcon occuring is also possible: Madoka's chapter 2 cameo may prove to be a Chekhov's Gunman, just as Kyubey's was.

And I fully expect to be proven wrong, but I think there will eight chapters total in Kazumi Magica. The first volume contains only the first three chapters of Kazumi, but they were each about twice the length of chapters 4 and 5. If chapters 6 and 7 have the same sizes as chapters 4 and 5 and chapter 8 has the same size as chapters 1-3, then 4-8 could easily fit in the next volume of Kazumi Magica.

Here's my idea for a prediction in the next Kazumi Chapter:

After the Climactic Battle, Kazumi will confront the others about the Awful Truth. However, the manga will reveal that Yuuri was actually one of a small group of magical girls contracted by Kyubey. All of them utilize the Evil Nuts, while the leader sees Witches as the pinnacle of human evolution.

OR

Yuuri had her emotions manipulated by someone else other than Kyuubey.

What do you think?

Eh, we'll see.

I also doubt it will last for solely eight chapter for several reasons.

1. We don't know what the other Saints wished for.

2. We still don't know about Juubey's origins

3. We never got an explanation of where the Evil Nuts come from. Besides, the Nut didn't work on Kazumi because she's technically already a Witch.

4. Kyuubey hasn't shown himself to the others.

The chapters are now basically condensed revelations. We can have one chapter about Juubey, Kyuubey, and the Pleaides, one chapter about Kazumi, and one extra-long chapter to wrap things up. Heck, Kyubey doesn't have to reveal himself ever.

Has there been any recent news regarding the possible slice of life Madoka series?

Thought it was just joked about.

I think Shinbo was being honest when he said he wanted to make a world where the characters didn't have to suffer.

However, there has been no announcement or even rumor of any sort of sequel or Spin-Off to Madoka. (Though the sales are certainly good enough for one). If there is some sort of sequel series, it would probably be announced well after Oriko Magica ends (granted, that's in a week), and maybe even when Kazumi Magica ends.

(I'm actually hoping Oriko and Kazumi will get Animated Adaptations)

As for the slice of Life, I hope for something where they can enjoy widefaceing, Hidamari Sketch-style.

I felt like chapter 10 was rushed. Like, really rushed. I mean, like:

"Okay, we got this part done! Now switch to the other part! Good! Now the other! and the other! We need to shove all four time lines in 40 pages! Let's go! Let's go!"

The Stations of the Canon done horribly.
