A list of common sexual fantasies? - not as perverted as it sounds!

Basically, I'm thinking that a good way to conceive ideas for characters' visual designs is by making each character modeled after a common sexual fantasy i.e. "sexy nurse" "dominatrix" etc.

My problem is that I don't know that many at all. I especially don't know any common sexual fantasies of women (to base the male characters' visual design ideas on).

So, does the wiki have a list of common sexual fantasies? Or, what are the common sexual fantasies of which you're aware?

There ought to be some unpopular character based on an UNCOMMON sexual fantasy (and each character's in-verse popularity is based on their real life commonness)

Twins? Cheerleaders?

I'd suggest starting at Sex Tropes, Fanservice and Fetish Fuel. Follows the links from there, if you dare.

A Big Boss Expy should fulfil most of the criteria.

Most movies and tv shows have the female variants. Just wait until it goes into slow-mo or there are long shots of her. That's when you know something is being fetishized.

@OP: depends on the target audience really, though AHR has a good point with that last post.

So the majority of men in this world are rapists?

Hmmm, that list doesn't exactly provide a lot of potential character designs though.

For the ladies, Firemen Are Hot is one I can think off the top of my head...perhaps a sharp dressed Battle Butler type..um, lifeguards?

I'm guessing roles of authority are the most common...like policemen, firefighters, military men, etc. Even the thought of a boss in typical work clothes is hot to me. Then again, I'm a guy so I'm not sure how helpful this is.

This study has a five-factor scale of male sexual fantasies, you can probably assume all of these are common. Here are the factors:

  • genital fantasies (stuff focused on their own and the woman's genitals)
  • public-sex fantasies (you can guess)
  • sensual fantasies (cuddling and caressing, foreplay stuff)
  • dominance-submission fantasies (either the aggressor or the victim, usually one who wants one of those wants the other too)
  • sexual-aggression fantasies (non-sexual aggression towards women)

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

It is commonly reported that some women cannot resist a man in uniform. (Ditto for the inverse.)

I still like my idea of having obscure, unpopular sexual fantasies as in-universe unpopular characters.

Uhhmm...evil is so dreadfully sexy, for one.

And Sparkly Vampires: you can't argue with results like that.

Also, I've heard that many woman have a (possibly subconcious) affinity for the idea of being physically rescued by a man while they emotionally rescue him, which pretty much ties into all of these. If you don't want to think about twilight, think phantom of the opera.

Also, I've just had a theory- all this bishonen love is just an acceptable outlet for everyones inner lesbian.

Thank you for all the help, Homies.[awesome]

I read through about half of the Sex Tropes and Fan Service lists and jotted down notes, but then my computer messed up and I lost the list (fortunately, everything except that list was backed up - it could have been a million times worse).

Anyways, I remember some of what I noted so it was still beneficial for me to do this. After reading tons of pages on it, I think I'd categorize sexual fantasies of men and women into two groups:

Danger adds to the excitement

and serenity/approachability/etc. makes it less scary

Interestingly, they are counterparts to each other, and I'm guessing people tend to lust for what they lack.

Finding that bit about how many women like stories where the woman emotionally saves the man as the man physically saves the woman was especially helpful. I suppose this is because, otherwise, the damsel would be a helpless nincompoop who just causes trouble by putting herself in danger.

Well, I may read more later; and thank you for the help... Homies.[awesome]

edit: I just read that top 10 women's sexual fantasies, and it's interesting. A lot of it sounds like sado-masochism and dominance-submission stuff or self-confidence stuff (being so hot people pay to see her naughty parts, being so hot people want to watch her have sex, etc.), but some of the others are very surprising.
