Pokemon HG/SS, Ace Attorney Investigations, Super Mario Galaxy 2.
I'd pick Dragon Quest IX, but I literally just bought the game only an hour ago. ;____;
Okay, here's my list:
Sonic Colors, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Sonic The Hedgehog 4, Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, and Limbo.
Notice a common theme in this list?

Watch SymphogearZettai Hero Project and Birth By Sleep for me.
And to be fair, the pattern I saw in Komodin's list was reviving old genres and platformers...
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.Bayonetta and Angry Birds (was that this year?) for me.
SPEED UP | MISSILE | DOUBLE | LASER | MULTIPLE | ?Birth by Sleep and New Vegas.
Against all tyrants.Minecraft, Command And Conquer 3: The Forgotten, Alien Swarm.
EDIT: Add Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit into the mix.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelGolden Sun: Dark Dawn, Red Dead Redemption, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, and probably Donkey Kong Country Returns and Sonic Colors, but I don't have them yet.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.Strange Journey, Dragon Quest IX and Tales of Innocence (the later may have come out a couple years ago but the patch was this year.)

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadKirbys Epic Yarn and Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver. Mostly Yarn, because Kirby's awesome and he really restored my faith in Nintendo after certain... less awesome games this year. But Kirby! And the adorable! :D
Also discovered one or two from years passed that were awesome, but we will leave them aside for the sake of staying on-topic.

Strange Journey, Dragon Quest IX, Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, Mass Effect 2 and Borderlands (It counts because of GOTY edition, so nyeh!)
Super Mario Galaxy 2, all the way. My new all-time favorite game, actually. There's a lot I wanted to play, but my Wii decided to quit playing discs a few months ago, and I wouldn't have been able to play them.
However, I did recently finish up Sam And Max: the Devil's Playhouse, and I loved it. Definitely worth the two-year wait.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Galaxy 2, Pokemon HG/SS

Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon Soul Silver. They're the only games from this year that I've played and their both enjoyable though DQ 9 is much, much, much more so than Pokemon.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahMass Effect 2 - Definitely one of the greatest RP Gs I've ever played
God Of War 3 - FEEL DA POWER!!!
White Knight Chronicles (technically 2008, but whatever) - Don't care what anyone says. I think it's a good game. Just as long as you're not playing the story mode.
Dragon Age: The Game Of The Year ed., Mass Effect 2, Fallout: New Vegas, God Of War.
One of things is not like the other, one of these just don't belong!

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Dragon Age? mine were RDR, Heavy Rain (it wasn't so great but if other companies decide to expand on the concepts it brings as well as fixing it's mistakes, Gaming would move forward a lot). and sadly I haven't played anything new this year. Although I'm planning on getting Go W III and ME 2.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.Mass Effect 2, by a longshot. Also Transformers: War for Cybertron and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Hurm, let's see.....
- Mass Effect 2
- Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare
- Halo Reach
- Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold
- Transformers War For Cybertron

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.Super Street Fighter 4 for me.
Assuming its English release is what counts, Recettear wins Game of the Year hands down, along with the lesser accolades of the High Explosives Award for Best RPG and No Competition Award for Best Independent Localization.
For runners-up and honorable mentions, Just Cause 2 wins the Plastic Spade Sandbox Award. Empire: Total War wins the Stale Cake Late-to-the-Party Award, being 2010's Best Game of 2009 on account of me not playing it until this year. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm wins the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak Expansion Pack Award, Duct Tape and Prayers Best-Utilized Engine Award and Towering Piles of Cash Lifetime Achievement Award. Final Fantasy XIII wins Best Production Values, and Valkyria Chronicles II Most Improved Sequel. I could go on like this for a while, but I'll leave it at that.
