Use the right button on the D-pad to switch to it, then press A to activate it, then hold Y down to start firing at things.

Is there a certain percentage of the gauge that must be filled to use it? Does there need to be specific timing?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Nope. Just select with the d-pad, press A, go to town.
HYYYPE!!!Only Pulse Scan requires a specific chunk of Aeion. All the other abilities activate regardless of amount, but obviously you would not get much out of them with a sliver of Aeion.
You can have all three of Lightning Armour, Beam Burst and Chaos Control Phase Drift active at the same time if you wish.
LA eats Aeion only when you take damage, BB eats Aeion only when shooting a beam weapon and PD eats Aeion the moment it's activated.
My progress so far; only 9 squishies left to hunt, got my Gravity Suit and Plasma Beam and Screw Attack. Funny how the game gets increasingly tougher the deeper you go, but then the new powers turn it into a cake walk.
Dumb giant robot drill chase killed me like four times though.
I also really dig the soundtrack in Samus Returns. As much as I love the Brinstar theme back in the first game (more like remake, if you want to be specific of my experiences), having a nearly muted background track works so well for atmosphere in a game like this.
It's something I half wish Dark Souls would do. Yes, no music unless it's a major scene gives the game it's own mood of being broody and all, but some background ambience is nice, and a subtle one can really sell a foreboding, alien or isolated feel.
Also, how come Metroids are immune to the friggin Plasma Beam, but then Beam Burst hurts them?

I downloaded this game to my 3DS from the E-Shop the day it came out. Metroid II was one of the first games my brother got with his original Game Boy, and I'm liking this remake so far. So far, I've cleared out the Surface and Areas 1 and 2 of Metroids.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Rule of Cool. Also,i'm pretty sure real life anti-missile protections would get a scratch or two when taking a Macross Missile Massacre in the face.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Got 100%. Probably the easiest Metroid to do so since the Scan Pulse uncovers everything, and once you figure out that one trick the puzzles are nothing compared to what you find in Fusion and Zero Mission. I'm fine with that, since finding everything without a guide could get really tedious in the previous games, and the real challenge will come from speed-running anyway.
Do you get anything for a 100% run?
Unlock all the Chozo Memories. You can take your time on those.
An in game method of finding hints/secrets is much better than forcing people to go online and read a guide, or just make dumb guesswork.
So while Scan Pulse can make finding some stuff stupid easy, until you explored a bunch you probably need that Aeion more for actually progressing through an area.
Besides, nobody finds bombing/missiling every single block on a screen exactly fun.
Agreed. Scan pulse helps out a lot when item hunting, but it doesn't completely take away from exploration. You still need to figure out which rooms lead to where, and what exactly they have in store. It's basically just a mini on-demand map station.
HYYYPE!!!hey he haven't had a zero suit conversation in a while
I'm kind of curious to hear what the thoughts around here are on the Samus Returns design, though- the general consensus at GameFAQs seems to be "love how toned she is, but still hate the heels."
Me? That's... about my thoughts on it too, so I'm not sure what else I have to offer on this discussion. The dark blues look really nice on the eyes, too.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaMuscles good, heels bad.
HYYYPE!!!I'm glad she's tall and muscular again, but can we get rid of those heels already?
So... My opinion's not much different, oops.
/crawls back under rockI mean, they don't really look all that much like heels, considering the soles for both are pretty flat across the whole thing.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Arr, the design be good but the heels can walk the plank.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The soles, maybe. But not the heels, which are very raised.
I like the remake also incorporating the Zero Suit. That design is pretty nice too.
I think the current feet are a nice compromise between heels and more appropriate shoes.
Would still prefer it being fully flat, just because it doesn't look like the ideal for walking around everywhere, even keeping in mind the fact that she's in power armour.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniAt the very least I will grant that it looks like she's just wearing tall boots in her power suit. Which is better than blatantly wearing heels, I suppose.
The only acceptable heels are chunky rocket heels.
I sure said that!Or springloads for walljumping.
Sad that OM 2 R does Fusion style walljumps, but at least I got the timing down for multi-bombjumps. Also I need to git gud at counters.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! They're clearly wedge heels, rather than flats. That style makes shoes look less high heel-like than stilettos or block heels, but they're still about as impractical for running in (although a bit easier to balance in).
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerMission Clear!
With a total time of 12 hours. Not sure if it counts deaths or not.
I need help using the Aion abilities other than the protection one. How do I trigger the Beam Burst?
