This holiday, round 2 for Metroid Soccer.
That's a neat version of Ridley's theme.
That overview trailer was actually pretty good.
And cool, we got a time slowing Aeon power.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniFor some reason, it reminded me of a Godfrey Ho Ninja Movies trailer.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThe Gravity Suit is purple. Not glowy purple, actual purple. That's good to see.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I also like that the Fusion Suit has a proper model and isn't just a reskin of the Varia Suit a la Smash Bros Brawl/4.
Makes sense, though, since apparently Mercury Steam wanted to remake Fusion when they contacted Nintendo
I wouldn't mind a Fusion remake, but also I just really want them to make a game set after Fusion.
Since Sakamoto said that after Samus Returns he'd like to do an original 2D Metroid next, maybe that could be it?
I hope he's kept on a tight leash, because the last time he tried to do something new it killed the series for a decade.
I sure said that!He also better make it not too good because when he made the most beloved game in the series it died for a decade.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I guess 7 years is close enough to a decade.
No! Please make a game too good to follow. Let Metroid die with a mighty roar, rather than a whimper.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesOh hey, it's Metroid Prime 3's tenth anniversary today. I played that for the first time recently, good game.
This is a kickass trailer.
It was always kind of part of their design, but somehow this really reinforced to me the idea that the transparent jellyfish is the actual Metroid, and it's like it's built another creature around itself. Maybe it's like xenomorphs harvesting the DNA of their prey, and they're kind of creating some 'perfect' organism based on all the creatures they've drained, or something.
Or not, that's just where my head went. Trailer looks good.
I'd like to transplant a post from the Metroid Database. newhenpal picked up on something and eloquently explained what this minor detail suggests about the game's portrayal of Samus. Assuming he's right. Which I hope he is.
This image◊ makes me LOL in all the right ways. I just finished a playthrough of Other M over the weekend, so I am utterly struck by the contrast between this Samus and the Samus present in 95% of Other M's cutscenes. From the brave, determined expression behind the raptorial visor to her armored hand — looking almost like a gauntlet with the amount of weight and sharpness the image conveys — firmly gripping the lever like she could easily crush it into fine powder, this is definitely a far cry from Other M's fragile toy-looking power suit with its oversized visor designed to give us an unobstructed view of Samus's delicate facial features. SR's design admittedly comes dangerously close to looking like a a parody of "tough Samus" fan art; they will hopefully tone it down with later installments, but it's good to see that their hearts are in the right place.

Never a big fan of bulky suit designs. Too cumbersome and feels less agile. Not helped by my experience with FPS.
Aw, but I like the idea of a walking tank who can fly through the air doing wall-destroying electric somersaults.
I actually really like the SR Suit design. Though the Gravity Suit having those additional glowy lines looks a little odd to me, imo.
Also, I think they did the "much larger visor" thing with the Fusion Suit first, so that's not something that originated in Other M.
Samus is a big tough bitch lady and I approve.
Though I suppose it could be silly if they took the concept to an illogical extreme. Like flexing so hard her powersuit comes off or something.
yeah, that'd be silly.
I dunno, I liked the Other M design of her suit, but I definitely prefer the bulkier look of her SR armor.
Other M made the power suit look kind of plasticy with the overly smooth and shiny textures. The metalic textures they added in Smash Wii U/3DS really helped the design stand out and recapture some of the toughness Samus is known for.
Not a particularly big fan of how huge the Varia/Gravity suit shoulders look in this new game, but it does look better in gameplay than in still images/renders. Maybe they exagerated the shoulder size to make the upgrade stand out with the relatively low resolution of the 3DS? Would make for an interesting parallel to the original purpose of the Varia suit's shoulder pads from the original Metroid II.
