So I bought Zero Mission and Fusion. Decided to start with Fusion since I'd already played a little bit of it. Controls much better on an actual GBA, but man is wall jumping difficult. I'll probably get used to it but it seems Samus only actually rebounds off the wall 10% of the time and that 10% I'm usually not ready for and so I flub the next jump.
I guess there's a reason doing five wall jumps in a row is considered one of the hardest tricks in Fusion...
Oissu!I have no trouble Wall Jumping in Zero Mission, and I played that game with... shameful methods.
Still makes me wish that we have a 2D Metroid game as expansive as Super but with ZM's controls.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.AM2R? Not official, but considering how Nintendo has decided Metroid is not a priority...
Oissu! So I realised something kind of creepy, looking through the links in the Metroid: Other M page.
A lot of Sakamoto's actions during development mirrored that of Adam in the same game, minus the whole shooting in the back thing.
Adam didn't authorise Samus to use her Varia 'feature' (bah) during the threatening lava run? Sakamoto didn't let the development team use the nunchuk at all, considering the game a failure if they ever had to utilise alternate control schemes (though thinking about it, the first person mode IS another control scheme, so...)
Adam lacking general positives emotions, including at whatever Samus's accomplishments are (which are basically limited to gameplay)? Sakamoto was reported to be looking at the storyboards for the game, and was completely silent, no reaction at all. He did say that they were good, but the complete lack of a reaction is odd, to say the least.
The rather ridiculous amount of control Adam demonstrates over Samus not only takes it beyond the level that can appear in real life, but even restricts tools that have absolutely no basis to be restricted in this situation (HOW is Samus going to hurt anyone with the Space Jump?)? Sakamoto had a very high level of control over the story, even emailing a different worker than he was supposed to for the purposes of getting these changes in, right down to how many frames are in between certain moments.
I don't really have an ending to this big long wall of text I typed up, so... at least he won't be coming back to Metroid?

I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniThe lack of emotional response to the story boards isn't really a fair comparison. Adam's just cold and stoic. Sakamoto was silent because he was stunned, if I recall correctly.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The History of the D-pad.
Question: What does this have to do with Metroid?
Answer: Gunpei Yokoi.
Reminds me vaguely of that art I saw of Samus locking the rest of her team in a room and completing a mission solo because THEY MIGHT GET HURT
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWho'd win in a fight between Samus and MATOI RYUUUKOOO!!!?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Where did that come from?
Where there's life, there's hope.Just thinking about badass chicks in costumes that give them superpowers. As I am wont to do.
Besides, there's a yin-yang thing going on here. Samus's suit conceals her whole body, whereas Ryuko's uniform reveals most of hers. It's pretty deep when you think about it.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Except sometimes where Samus' armor just blinks off which is obviously a desirable feature in armor that protects you from hazardous environments
Forever liveblogging the AvengersRyuuko is a hell of a lot faster (Speed Booster not withstanding) and more agile than Samus could ever hope to be and can fly. While a fully upgraded Samus is a tank and has the firepower of a small army, Ryuuki should be able to hurt her with the Scissor Blade given the fact that basically anything can hurt Samus. Then there's the fact that (KlK spoiler) Ryuuko has a pretty powerful healing factor that Samus could only deal with using a Power Bomb and can evidently breath in space and it's pretty clear that Ryuuko would win. It would be through Death by a Thousand Cuts but she'd win.
Although, if Samus managed to hit Ryuuko with the Ice Beam or Ice Missiles, that might let her win. Depends upon how much of Ryuuko gets frozen.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Samus uses Plasma Beam. gg
There's still the issue of actually tagging Ryuko.
Assuming Samus hit, it would only inconvenience Ryuuko depending on where she hit and the exact diameter of the Plasma Beam. Just for the record, Ryuuko survived getting her heart ripped out and getting cut in half at the waist. Another character with the same healing factor as her also survived getting crucified with a giant spike impaled through her chest, I THINK getting stabbed in the heart, and being decapitated. If you destroyed Ryuuko's heart, that'd probably kill her since that's what killed the Big Bad who has the same healing factor she did but I'm not entirely sure since her death was kinda complicated.
Yeah, assuming Ryuuko's at her most powerful, she can go from the ground to around I'd say 2,000 km above sea level in a few seconds (the exact altitude isn't stated and is merely a guess on my part based on what it looked like).

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Fire kills life fibers, and Samus can most definitely start a fire.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIf we're assuming Ryuuko at her most powerful we need to assume the same for Samus
Forever liveblogging the AvengersA Power Bomb would likely incapacitate Ryuuko given how Life Fibres hate fire. Ice Beam/Missiles + Supers also seem to work on incredibly resilient alien life forms...

Oissu!Let's say Samus is in Norfair fighting somebody and her helmet gets torn off. Do you think she could survive for like, ten seconds, until she puts her helmet back on?
Because of the atmosphere or because of the heat?
Oissu!Depends on whether the armor has shields that would hold up even if the helmet is off or whether Chozo blood protects from LAVA
She didn't fry in Other M when her suit was blinking out in the lava room so who even knows
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt would probably hurt like hell, but she could probably survive the heat long enough to get her helmet back on.
Oissu!
But how many eyes do their parrots have?
Wouldn't really surprise me if the pirates had a different number of eyes between different units in Corruption.
