Seriously

Right now things are bad enough that Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency for six counties in southern and central California, including the two largest counties in the state, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Wow. What was it, five inches-worth of rain in a week? Not really used to that much at once time, I would think...

Hawaii has been getting slammed by heavy rain, also. We're due for another front to sweep over us by the weekend. Some spots here got five inches of rain in a single hour, earlier in the week. But hey, we're used to it.

Wow. As if California needed any more economic problems. Screw the drought, we need cash!

Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey Bitchfest

Five inches is what the lucky ones have had. some areas, such as Devore (not far northeast of here) have had two feet of rain (a lot of these areas are also the ones that are most prone to flooding).

Well, Devore is already a pretty pitiful place, so I guess it's business as usual there.

What's this? I should be happy that I'm not in the states? Back home it's flooded to hell and back, and my parents live in Rancho and are getting poured on as well.

It doesn't rain a lot here, but we get at least one big storm every year. You'd think we'd be better equipped to handle it.

At least we're past the worst of it now. The clouds broke as I was leaving work.

Stuff what I do.

Any news on the Ventura area? I'd rather not come home to a car full of water.

It was raining pretty bad this morning, but it's been fairly dry since the middle of the afternoon.

I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

Haven't heard anything about Ventura county, though local media has been focusing on the Silverado Canyon area and Highland (Now nicknamed Mudland).

Wait a bridge collapse? That's no good, how much rain does So-Cal usually get? 5in or even 2ft in a week doesn't seem like much to me, but I live in a very wet area, so I don't have any real perspective.

Ah, and I suppose So-Cal is fairly flat is it? I live in a very very wet area but everything points down toward the coast line so no big, it all drains off.

LA valley is but the mountains around the city aren't - the deforestation from wildfires prompted the mudslides
