Unfortunately the chain whip is the only weapon with the Double Element seal. I've never used the Iron Fan myself, not a fan of the Qiaos. I'm also divided on the Throwing Knives, so hard to stagger, but so good at killing those damn horses.

The key thing with the knives is they have increased mosou generation as well as the insane attack speed.

In Wolves of Chaos and Battle for Supremacy, using Zhong Hui w/ Flying Swords, Deng Ai with Gurren Lancegan, and Sima Zhao with his sword, I got over 3000 KO's.

I revive this thread due to recent events: I bought DW 7 yesterday and of course played it. It's like DW 6 all over again, but even better. I played nearly until it was time for to go to sleep. One of the best changes are without a doubt the weapons. While it doesn't have the Gotta Catch 'Em All aspect of Advance, it's still pretty awesome to have so many different weapons (as in, not just three weapons per character with varying stats) and that every character can use every weapon (different from Advance where everyone can only use three types).

I haven't played very much of it, but I like the conquest mode. I'm not so sure about the kingdom-specific story mode. On one hand, I'd have liked it to remain character-specific, but on the other hand it is pretty well done so far.

Of the original characters, I saw Bao Sanniang. I'm not really sure what to think of her. She is actually a character, I'd like but I couldn't warm up to her yet. Also I read that she takes no part at all in the story mode, which is probably for the best...

My only real point of critique is the lack of a free mode. I always liked to replay battles with any character I want to. Would it have been so hard to just remove character-specific cutscenes for free mode?

Also, I'm kind of amused by the DW 6-bashing. Maybe I just don't understand it since 6 was my first (and, until now, only) DW game of the main series. Before 6, I only had Advance.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.

The DW 6 bashing is because of They Changed It, So It Sucks. Mainly the complaints come from the removal of the charge system (which made it's return in 7) and replaced it with the Renbu system.

My big beef with 7 though after having done everything is the lack of hardcore objective like 4th level weapons in 3-5 (which were hidden objectives in hard mode only.) and yes free mode.

The DLC is a kinda free mode with certain old stages from 2 and 3 those are fun.

Bao is the typical anime style Cat Girl she is meh although her weapon is good.

DW 6's main problem was the gameplay. The Renbu system was bullshit because it did the unspeakable: It turned the franchise into a mindless button-masher. There was also the fact that the game was clearly rushed, resulting in half the roster having clone movesets. Hell, my main complaint about DW 7 is that they went too overboard with the weapon customization, resulting in none of the characters being unique.

If you wanna see for yourself how bad DW 6 is, just go buy DW 5 and compare for yourself.

So apparently the DLC is out.

I wanna make a 'Create a DW movelist for a character from other series'... It was a pasttime favorite of mine.

I like to mention that they are now making Warriors Orochi 3.

Hondam works within Sengoku Basara because the entire damn thing is so over-the-top and campily anachronistic. Masamune's horse is a more or less an animal motorbike. Magoichi Saiga's use of firearms is historically accurate (surprisingly), but Saiga is now a woman and totes weapons that didn't exist until the late 20th century. Nouhime also sports the same kind of firearms and also hides them within her kimono. And that's just the tip of the iceburg. Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors take liberties with their stories as well, but are more realistically grounded (relatively speaking).

Warriors Orochi always was absurd, look at the characters from the second one Sun Wukong (Aka Son Goku of Journey To The West fame.), Himiko, San Zang, Kiyomori Taira, Orochi.

In all fairness, Himiko is said to have lived in Japan during the Three Kingdoms era, and even had ties to Cao Wei. Which, of course, was completely ignored for the Warrior Orochi games.

The rest are there just cause Rule of Cool I guess.

And Hokuto Musou manages to do even more Rule of Cool, because, well....

It's Fist Of The North Star, you can't get much cooler than that when it comes to Musou styled adaptations.

I am looking forward to this.

I loved Warriors Orochi simply for the freshness of the enemies you fight stage by stage. When I first got the game, I just did not know WHAT to expect next.

And despite being a Smug Snake, I must say Kiyomori has a Magnificent Bastard's voice.

Musou Orochi 2 is out. Two gameplay videos (and the opening) and a two hour video from someones live stream. Things to note. Soundtrack is awesome (why doesn't the Warrior series have it's own page for crowning musis? It diserves one!) , some characters are not in same catigory as they were in Orochi 1 (the Speed Power and Tech classes), you will repeat stages in order to Set Right What Once Went Wrong, and did I mention how awesome the soundtrack was?
